Ciele vedeckého časopisu Edukácia:

• prezentovať súčasné postavenie a funkciu pedagóga v edukačnej praxi a jeho perspektívy,

• prezentovať aktuálne otázky vzdelávania a výchovy z pohľadu učiteľov, sociálnych pedagógov, špeciálnych pedagógov a psychológov,

• prezentovať inovácie v edukačnej praxi; analyzovať stav a problémy prepájania teórie a praxe výchovy a vzdelávania vo vzťahu k moderným vyučovacím koncepciám,

• prezentovať aktuálne trendy v pregraduálnej príprave pedagógov,

This collection of papers from a scientific conference brings together different perspectives on issues related to the use of alternative dispute resolution methods in public administration. The dominant thematic focus of the contributions was to examine the potential of alternative dispute resolution methods in protecting the public interest on the one hand, and the subjective rights of natural persons and legal entities in the exercise of public administration on the other. The collection provides a space for researchers working on this topic to present the results of their research to date and compare them with the reality of administrative dispute resolution. The combination of a theoretical approach with practical experience significantly contributes to the improvement of the scientific work of the project researchers, while also enriching practitioners with the diversity and innovativeness of theoretical perspectives on their established practice.

Okrúhle číslo Doktorandských miscelaneí nás vyzýva na krátke bilancovanie. V desiatich zväzkoch zborníka sme uverejnili spolu 116 príspevkov zo siedmich doktorandských študijných odborov. V každom čísle boli zastúpené štúdie z literárnej vedy (v prvých šiestich zväzkoch bol pre interdisciplinárne filologické štúdie používaný názov literárna veda/slovakistika). Z ostatných odborov boli najčastejšie uverejňované texty z filozofie a sociálnej práce, pričom štúdie z filozofie chýbali iba v posledných dvoch zväzkoch a štúdie zo sociálnej práce v prvých dvoch a v siedmom zväzku.

V zborníku sa snažíme udržiavať prvotnú myšlienku, ktorou bolo kultivovať domáci výskumný priestor najmladšej generácie bádateľov v interdisciplinárnom dialógu, čo si vyžaduje dosahovanie medzinárodných štandardov kvality, no na druhej strane aj zachovanie identity zborníka ako jedinečnej domácej publikačnej platformy.

Kolektívna monografia Leško, V. – Róbert Stojka a kol.: Heidegger, metafyzika a Gréci (Košice: UPJŠ 2016, 695 s.) je prvým historicko-filozofickým pokusom na Slovensku, ale aj v širších zahraničných kontextoch, vysporiadať sa s takto zvolenou ústrednou témou Heideggerovho diela. Práca je členená do troch základných časti. V prvej, ktorá je nazvaná od Augustína k Aristotelovi, autori jednotlivých kapitol skúmajú genézu Heideggerovho vzťahu ku gréckej filozofii a skúmanie hlavnej Heideggerovej otázky – otázky bytia - od jeho prvých prednáškových kurzov k Aristotelovej filozofii z rokov 1921/1922 až do roku 1929, keď mu vychádza práca k Aristotelovej Metafyzike. Naše skúmanie jednoznačne potvrdzuje skutočnosť, že v týchto Heideggerových raných textov (prednáškových cyklov) sa postupne rodia všetky dôležité filozofické pozície, ktoré mali svoje zavŕšenie v práci Bytie a čas.

The proceedings Consumers and Traders Online: Legal and Economic Challenges of Digital Markets present a collection of scientific studies addressing contemporary issues of digital market functioning within the European Union. The contributions analyse legal, economic and technological dimensions of digital services, particularly in the context of the VEGA project 1/0431/23 focused on the conflict of interests between consumers and traders in the delivery of digital content and services. The studies highlight the dynamic growth of the digital economy, bringing new regulatory challenges, issues of data protection and enforcement of consumer rights. The authors examine topics such as geographical indications in the digital environment, the use of artificial intelligence in public enforcement, fintech regulation, liability for damages, and the impacts of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The proceedings also expose increasing fragmentation of responsibility across digital actors and emphasise the need for a harmonised EU regulatory framework. Further attention is given to evolving consumer behaviour, cybersecurity risks, deepfake technologies, the functioning of online marketplaces and digital payment systems. A significant part of the analysis addresses the role of major online platforms, their obligations and influence on transparency in digital markets. The publication offers an interdisciplinary perspective combining law, economics and technology, representing an important contribution to the discourse on modern consumer protection in the digital era.

In the context of the deteriorating state of adolescent mental health, it is extremely important to optimize the existing mental health care system in Slovakia. There is still little comprehensive and coherent information about the functioning of the system and the process of providing assistance within professional care, its shortcomings or suggestions for improvement. This is not possible without a deep knowledge of the perspective and experiences of adolescents with mental problems themselves. The aim of this publication is therefore to present adolescents' views on the professional assistance provided as a result of experienced mental problems within the existing care system in Slovakia.

The findings from a qualitative study that focused on the views of young people themselves are presented. The chapters of the monograph capture their views on the perception of mental health problems in society, their experiences with identifying emerging problems and seeking professional help, and their experiences with the care process itself and its forms. They also capture their overall experience with both care and care providers, as well as with leaving care and its impacts in various areas. Finally, a view is presented of possible recommendations that could improve the mental health care provided from the adolescents' perspective.

This publication is intended primarily for all professionals working with adolescents with mental health problems in all branches of care, teachers and other educational staff who are in contact with them every day at school, and last but not least, all competent policy makers who care about the mental health of adolescents and have the power to improve the care provided to them.

Každý človek má potreby – od tých najzákladnejších, ako je jedlo a bezpečie, až po potrebu lásky, uznania a sebarealizácie, teda rozvoja svojho potenciálu. Tieto potreby boli zoradené do tzv. Maslowovej pyramídy, kde na seba nadväzujú podľa toho, ako veľmi sú pre náš život nevyhnutné. Ak máme uspokojené základné potreby, začneme túžiť po tých vyšších – napríklad po blízkych vzťahoch, spolupatričnosti, rešpekte a možnosti rozvíjať sa.

Ľudia so zdravotným znevýhodnením majú rovnaké potreby ako ktokoľvek iný. Rozdiel je často len v tom, že ich naplnenie je pre nich náročnejšie – nie preto, že by ich menej chceli, ale preto, že im v tom často bránia vonkajšie prekážky. Chýbajúca podpora, bariéry v prostredí, nedostatok informácií či predsudky spoločnosti spôsobujú, že sa na ich potreby zabúda. Niektoré potreby sa potom stávajú „neviditeľné“ – nie preto, že by neexistovali, ale preto, že ich okolie nevníma.

Sociálne potreby, ako je láska, priateľské vzťahy, pocit spolupatričnosti, možnosť komunikovať a byť súčasťou komunity, sú pre ľudí kľúčové. Ak nie sú naplnené, vznikajú pocity samoty, smútku, bezmocnosti či frustrácie. Z výskumov vieme, že osamelosť alebo pocit odmietnutia môže bolieť rovnako ako fyzická bolesť. O to dôležitejšie je vnímať, že každý z nás túži po tom istom – po prijatí, rešpekte, priateľstve, láske.

The proceedings of student papers from the V. Annual Student Symposium represent a collection of analytical and comparative studies in the fields of tax policy, public finance, and financial law, reflecting the current challenges of the Slovak and European economies. The authors (students) focus on a wide range of topics – from considerations regarding the reintroduction of inheritance tax in Slovakia, through issues of tax evasion and abuse of law in taxation, to measures aimed at public finance consolidation. The authors (students) in their contributions also analyse practical aspects of tax administration, such as tax enforcement proceedings, case law concerning the burden of proof, and the financing of civic associations through tax assignation mechanisms. Particular attention is paid to modern challenges of tax policy, including the taxation of digital giants, financial transaction tax, and the regulation of crypto-asset service provision in the V4 countries. The proceedings also highlight the connection between tax instruments, the financing of cultural institutions, and the broader social context of public expenditures. The publication thus offers a comprehensive overview of current trends and perspectives in the field of taxation and public finance within the conditions of the Slovak Republic and the European Union.

The monograph offers a comprehensive perspective on the theoretical, methodological, and empirical dimensions of participatory visual research within the field of social work. It is grounded in the understanding that social work plays a crucial role in amplifying the voices of vulnerable groups and promoting social justice, with particular attention paid to persons with disabilities who frequently encounter limited opportunities for participation as well as persistent social, communicative, and environmental barriers. The author analyses the concept of participation in alignment with the principle of “Nothing about us without us” and presents the PhotoVoice method as an interdisciplinary tool that integrates participatory action research, critical pedagogy, feminist epistemologies, and documentary photography. The method is understood not only as a research technique but also as a form of visual advocacy, enabling participants to articulate their experiences, needs, and perspectives in ways accessible to both professional audiences and the wider public. The monograph reflects on the development of PhotoVoice in international scholarship and highlights its potential to transcend traditional academic boundaries toward participatory and transformative practice in social work. The empirical section comprises three projects conducted by the author in the Slovak context, focusing on diverse groups of persons with disabilities and their families, who face specific social needs and everyday barriers. The findings demonstrate the potential of PhotoVoice to strengthen participation through accessible and meaningful visual tools. The monograph also addresses methodological, ethical, and terminological considerations and adopts an inclusive understanding of disability consistent with contemporary approaches in social work.

Its main goal is to highlight potential synergies between the technological management of work processes and the promotion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, with a focus on legal mechanisms that ensure equal opportunities and protect employees. The collection includes studies on various aspects of labour law protection, such as the prohibition of discrimination, transparency in algorithmic management, protection of individuals with diverse needs, and legislative challenges related to GDPR. It also features contributions to innovative remuneration systems and the protection of socially and health-disadvantaged groups, with special attention to employees of different sexual orientations and pregnant women. A significant portion of the work is dedicated to issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence and algorithmic management in decision-making within labour relations. This scientific volume has been published as an output of the VEGA grant project No. 1/0474/24 Audit of Slovak Electoral and Referendum Legislation. Thematically, it focuses on the issue of the legal regulation of election campaigns and a critical analysis of the experience of its application in electoral practice. On this basis, the authors also formulate proposals for improving the current legal framework of election campaigns.

The proceedings include contributions presented at the scientific conference of the same name held in May 2025. The volume contains papers not only from domestic but also from foreign authors, who present the legal regulation of election campaigns in their respective home countries. Contributions from academics are complemented and enriched by those of representatives of non-governmental organizations engaged in election and campaign monitoring, as well as by contributions from authors working in public authorities responsible for the administration of elections and for overseeing the constitutionality and legality of elections.

The submitted publication entitled Voľby 2023/2024: výsledky – hodnotenia – dôsledky reflects a wide range of topics related to the electoral processes that took place in 2023 and 2024 in Slovakia and abroad. The publication deals with both the evaluation of the currently valid electoral legislation, including proposals for its further improvement, and the broader socio-political consequences of the elections in connection with democratization and integration processes. The submitted publication is published as an output of the VEGA project No. 1/0474/24 Audit of Slovak electoral and referendum legislation, the project leader of which is prof. JUDr. Ladislav Orosz, CSc. from the Faculty of Law of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice and in which the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Arts of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice also participates. The authors of the individual contributions analyze all types of elections, from municipal and regional, through parliamentary and presidential, to elections to the European Parliament. While some authors focused primarily on the local or regional level, others chose an approach focused on the national or supranational level, and the geographical scope of the cases examined was extremely diverse.

EFFUSE - Scientific Education for Advanced is an educational material designed for university students interested in ecological sciences, biology and environmental protection. The publication was developed as part of the EFFUSE project and focuses on the scientific investigation of living organisms in the river ecosystem, with an emphasis on their ecological role and importance as bioindicators. The river ecosystem is a dynamic environment where a wide range of organisms can be studied, from algae and phytoplankton to aquatic invertebrates, fish, amphibians and reptiles. This publication presents a detailed study of their adaptations, life cycles, reproductive strategies and their importance for ecological balance. Particular attention is paid to fish and amphibians, whose environmental demands and sensitivity to pollution make them important indicators of water quality and environmental status. The publication also provides guidance on how to integrate their study into university education in the form of practical research. It also includes a chapter on science education in the context of sustainable development, which is often absent from university curricula in Slovakia and Ukraine. Forensic Medicine is a medical discipline that is concerned with determination of the cause of death in cases violent and non-violent deaths by performing an autopsy. It is based on morphological findings, which characterize the effects of various forms of violence, as well as pathological changes in various diseases. The presented textbook provides comprehensive and complete overview of the fundamental tasks and theoretical knowledge of the field of forensic medicine. Its aim is to provide a theoretical basis in the form of images of morphological autopsy findings for the study of the compulsory subject Forensic Medicine and Medical Law in the study programs General Medicine and Dentistry. The author emphasizes the necessity to understand the fundamentals of forensic medicine in every medical field and a multidisciplinary approach in clarifying medico-legal issues.
