The monograph "Risk as a Social Category in Adolescence" by Dušan Šlosár was created as part of the VEGA project No. 1-0285/18, which focuses on risky behavior among adolescents as clients of social work due to their loneliness. The monograph explores the issue of risk in a theoretical context and integrates risk as a component of social relationships, contacts, and information exchange. From this theoretical foundation, it defines risk within helping professions. Assessing the level of risk is left to leading managers; however, it currently affects those helping professionals who work with specific client groups, and thus their involvement in assessing the level of risk cannot be overlooked.

The monograph pays special attention to risky behavior among adolescents and discusses the most serious forms of such behavior, ranging from suicidality to crime, substance abuse (both material and non-material), and issues related to sexuality. The conclusion of the monograph consists of three empirical studies that address the topic of risky behavior among adolescents.

V dnešnej dobe, keď sa mladí ľudia stretávajú s rôznymi výzvami a tlakmi (rovnováha školského, pracovného a osobného života, akademický tlak, technologické a informačné výzvy, sociálne tlaky...), je nevyhnutné poskytnúť im v univerzitnom prostredí efektívnu a ľahko dostupnú pomoc. Buddy systém však nie je len o poskytovaní akademickej pomoci, ale aj o vytváraní vzťahov, podpore a priateľstve.

Peer-reviewed proceedings from an international scientific conference organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Public Administration at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, held on November 15, 2018, in Košice

On November 15, 2018, an international scientific conference titled "Public Administration in a Current Democratic and Legal State" was held at the Faculty of Public Administration of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

This scientific event, attended by more than 60 experts from domestic and foreign universities and faculties, as well as representatives of various institutions from the public administration environment, marked the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Public Administration. The first part of the conference took place in a plenary session, and the second part continued with discussions in four sections, whose names align with the priority scientific orientation of the faculty's departments. At the plenary session, as well as in the professional sections, many content-rich and thought-provoking presentations were delivered, which undoubtedly contribute to further developing the theory of public administration in general and to developing partial scientific themes addressed by the faculty's departments in particular.

The scientific conference was characterized by a working atmosphere, a cultivated scientific and professional environment, with numerous discussions among participants related to current issues and problems in public administration, as well as formulating proposals for further cooperation in the field of science and education. The Faculty will publish a peer-reviewed scientific proceedings from the conference, which will have two parts due to the large number of active participants. The first part includes three presentations from the plenary session corresponding to the content of contributions that were presented during the discussions in sections guaranteed by the Department of Public Policy and Theory of Public Administration and the Department of Public Law Disciplines. The second part includes two presentations from the plenary session that are content-wise related to the discussions in sections guaranteed by the Department of Social Sciences and the Department of Economics and Public Administration Management.

Thanks are due to all active participants in the scientific conference, as well as those who were involved in its preparation and organization.

Obsedantně-kompulzivní porucha je relativně časté a většinou celoživotní psychické onemocnění, které se týká přibližně 3 % populace. Léčbu však zpravidla vyhledá jenom část těchto osob, které mají závažné a obtěžující příznaky.
   
Léčbou a výzkumem obsedantně-kompulzivní poruchy (OCD) se autoři zabývají již několik desetiletí. V našich podmínkách chybí dostatek základní odborné literatury v českém jazyce, proto se rozhodli své dlouholeté zkušenosti přetavit do této monografie. Kniha přináší souhrn výzkumů příčin a způsobu léčby OCD za posledních čtyřicet let a osvětluje problematiku z mnoha hledisek: věnuje se jak biologickému, tak psychologickému či psychoterapeutickému pohledu. Psychoterapeutické přístupy jsou probírány zevrubněji především proto, že jsou pokládány za účinnější a trvalejší.

Publikace je koncipována tak, aby z ní měli užitek jak odborníci (psychiatři, psychologové, praktičtí lékaři, poradenští pracovníci), tak studenti těchto oborů, ale i ti, kteří poruchou trpí, a jejich blízcí. Čtenář si může vybrat informace na různé úrovni odbornosti podle svých potřeb a možností.

The first personal monograph, On the Lyrical Triptych of Maša Haľamová (Life and Work), by co-authors Ivica Hajdučeková and Iveta Bónová, presents the results of archival research and analytical-interpretative insights into the structure of poetic texts. Life events at key points (V znamení osmičiek, Domov na brehu jazera, V ruchu redakčnej práce, Fáza po Mladých letách) are reconstructed based on autobiographical memories, archival documents, personal correspondence, as well as unpublished or published articles and interviews. An intriguing perspective on the author´s work is offered by self-referential notes and a reconstruction of opinions on her poetics and the artistic value of her poetry from the years 1928 – 2017, as expressed by contemporary and modern literary critics. The reconstruction of the genesis of the poem Dar (Gift), which relates to her connections with A. Kostolný and E.B. Lukáč, revealed the underpinnings of poetic inspiration and confirmed the productivity of archival research and exegetical methods. The analytical-interpretative insight into lyrical triptych Dar – Červený mak – Smrť tvoju žijem, realized through a spectrum of differentiated spirituality and the method of hermeneutic reading with an emphasis on the function of polyvocality, demonstrated that meta-empirical reality is shaped through natural imagery and the function of allusion. Across the three poetry collections, the lyrical parable and the process of spiritualization or spiritual growth of the lyrical subject are depicted, emblemized by the red poppy, blooming limber pine, and flowering moss. In conjunction with the analysis of the rhythmic-melodic structure of free yet phonetically organized verse – utilizing not only the folkloric inspirations of folk songs and ballads but also the religious tradition of spiritual hymns, prayers, and psalms – which confirmed that the poet´s sense and sensitivity for the „colourfulness“ of sounds and the „melodiousness“ of tones contributed to the architectural formation of the final form. This form is inseparably infused with the meta-empirical dimension of spirituality (eisos – eidos – Logos).

Všechna vývojová období dítěte jsou specifická a kladou vysoké nároky na ošetřující personál při uspokojování bio-psycho-sociálních a kulturních potřeb dítěte. Fyzikální vyšetření dítěte z pohledu ošetřovatelství je vysokoškolská odborná učebnice určená především studentům v oboru ošetřovatelství, ale také sestrám a všem, kteří pracují na pediatrických pracovištích a věnují se fyzikálnímu vyšetření dítěte. Snahou autorek bylo zapracovat do knihy oblasti zásadní pro důkladné sesterské fyzikální vyšetření dětského pacienta, které mají pomoci v poskytování kvalitní ošetřovatelské péče. Precizní fyzikální posouzení je relevantním zdrojem informací a vede ke správně stanoveným sesterským diagnózám a poskytování kvalitní ošetřovatelské péče. Rovněž vede k budování důvěry a vztahu rodičů a dítěte k sestře a její práci. Publikace je doplněna celobarevnými obrázky.

This is a supporting text for the undergraduate students interested in quan- tum theory of magnetism. The text represents an introduction to various theoretical approaches used in this eld. It is an open material, in the sense that it will be supported by appropriate problems to be solved by student at seminars and also as a homework.

The text consists of four chapters that form closed themes of the in- troductory quantum theory of magnetism. In the rst part we explain the quantum origin of the magnetism illustrating the appearance of the ex- change interaction for the case of hydrogen molecule. The second chapter is devoted to the application of the Bogolyubov inequality to the Heisenberg model and it represents the part which is usually missing in the textbooks of magnetism. The third chapter deals with the standard spin wave-theory including the Bloch and Holstein-Primakoff a approach. Finally, we discuss the application of the Jordan-Wigner transformation to one-dimensional spin-1/2 XY model.

The primary ambition of this supportive text is to explain diverse math- ematical methods and their applications in the quantum theory of mag- netism. The text is written in the form which should be sufficient to de- velop the skills of the students up to the very high level. In fact, it is expected that students following this course will able to make their own original applications of the methods presented in this book.

The proposed methodological guide focuses on a self-care questionnaire for the target group of adolescents. The creation of this methodology was prompted by its absence in the conditions of the Slovak Republic. The methodological guide consists of both theoretical and empirical parts.

In the theoretical part, the authors present theoretical foundations for the proposed methodology—self-care among adolescents—and also provide theoretical definitions of components of self-care in this target group. The second, empirical part of the methodological guide is dedicated to validation methods used to verify the questionnaire. It also presents results examining differences or correlations in the presented issues.
