The textbook is addressed to up-and-coming media staffers and teachers of Slovak language, a target group which will be a prospective model for common users in their language behaviour. It poses an educational project that points out to the correlation of standard language and language (primarily orthoepical) norm.

The publication is structured in the way that after the explanation of the given orthoepical problem on the segmenal level (in correspondence with the valid orthoepical norm anchored in Rules of Slovak Orthoepy by Á. Kráľ, 2005, 2009), there follow exercises with an aim to know and practically apply presented norms as standardised acoustic forms. However, considering the natural (not artificial) language and the real (not absolutely ideal) norm, under the exercises we give sociolinguistically oriented topics and tasks for discussion (sometimes also with references to specialist sources) with an aim to draw the listeners’ attention to the current state of live, phonically realised language, or to possible solutions that functionally correspond to the interests and needs of lanugage community and are not in contradiction with internal language rules at the same time.

An explanation of particular orthopeic phenomena on the segmental level is closed not only with exercices and topics for discussion but also with a short test in which students can individually verify their special competences in connection to speech practise.

One of the best ways to teach organic chemistry and increase students' interest in the subject is through conducting school experiments. Research Into Correlations Between Deformations of Political Awareness and the Increase of Political Extremism Among Secondary School Students in the Košice Self-governing Region and the Prešov.

Self-governing Region The issue of political extremism has a relatively long research period, and it should be emphasised that, especially in the recent period, it has received increased attention in the political science community not just in Slovakia but also abroad. Given the specifics of this anti-democratic form of political discourse, which has not only explicit forms, but also highly sophisticated manifestations against democracy (extremism of the centre, or centrist extremism), it is also addressed by experts of other humanities and social disciplines: history, psychology, anthropology, sociology, etc.

The common interest of this professional community is both to analyse different forms of extremist discourses and narratives, to search for national specificities of extremism that are anchored in their historical, social and cultural contexts, but at the same time to reveal transnational extremist influences within a globalizing world and to propose evidence-based strategies to counter extremist discourses.

The presented university textbook Classical and Sports Massage (2nd edition, expanded) is intended for students of the bachelor's degree program in Sports and Recreation. We focus in detail on classical and sports massage and other massage techniques most commonly used in sports and recreation. The learning texts provide extensive information on procedures, indications, and contraindications of massages, necessary for performing classical and sports massage in the sports field.

In the textbook, we describe the history of massage, general principles for masseurs in the sports field, basic strokes, and their transitional variants. Subsequently, we deal with the methodical procedure with illustrative images (own sources) for classical and sports massage of individual body parts. We address basic information on the application of massage in physical education, sports practice, and regeneration. We also add basic techniques for passive joint movements to the massage procedures.

Kniha je určena všem anesteziologům, ať již bez specializované způsobilosti, nebo se specializovanou způsobilostí, kteří hledají krátké návody pro jednotlivé anesteziologické postupy a perioperační situace nebo si potřebují stručně připomenout postupy, které nejsou rutinní součástí jejich praxe. Může se také stát inspirací pro jednotlivá anesteziologická pracoviště a pomoci jim vytvořit si vlastní, lokální doporučené postupy a standardy, tak jak je to dnes akreditačními podmínkami vyžadováno.
 
Třetí, přepracované vydání se dočkalo zásadních úprav obsahu i rozsahu jednotlivých kapitol. Celkem ve čtyřech tematických celcích (Obecné anesteziologické postupy, Speciální anesteziologické postupy, Porodnická anestezie a analgezie, Nejčastější anesteziologické komplikace) stručně v jednotlivých kapitolách autoři zpracovávají konkrétní perioperační postupy. Čtenář zde nově najde i osobní „know-how“ (tipy a triky) a osvětlení nejzákladnějších principů daných postupů. Původní autorský tým anesteziologů Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice v Praze byl rozšířen o kolegy anesteziology z Fakultní nemocnice Motol a Ústřední vojenské nemocnice, aby tak dohromady pokryli celé spektrum výkonů a situací, s nimiž se v anesteziologické praxi lze setkat.
 
Kromě již zmiňovaných anesteziologů může základní přehled o anesteziologických postupech pomoci také lékařům operačních oborů (obecná a břišní chirurgie, traumatologie, ortopedie, kardiochirurgie a cévní chirurgie, gynekologie a porodnictví, urologie, oční, stomatochirurgie a neurochirurgie) nebo lékařům provádějícím předoperační vyšetření, tedy zejména internistům, popřípadě praktickým lékařům.
 
Didaktická a praktická forma publikace nabízí celkem 78 odborných postupů a přílohu s ředěním léků.

Current classification of demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system according to van der Knaap and Valko from 2005 includes 97 congenital and acquired diseases that cause demyelination of the white matter of the brain and spinal cord. Most of these disorders lacks any definitive diagnostic test, so the accurate diagnosis depends on upon clinical symptoms, course of the disease, neurological findings, and the results of neuroimaging and laboratory examinations.

The aim of this textbook is to provide an accurate overview of acquired demyelinating diseases of the CNS, their etiopathogenesis, clinical picture and diagnostic options.

The publication retlects current challenges in criminal law in the context of dynamic technological, security, and social changes. The main section, "Artificial Intelligence - A Challenge for Criminal Law," presents contributions analyzing legal, ethical, and practical issues related to the use of artificial intelligence in the field of criminal law. The authors address autonomous responsibility, algorithmic transparency, the possibilities of using Al in the prevention, detection, and prosecution of crimes, as well as the risks to the protection of fundamental rights and fair tria!.

Collection of Papers from the International Scientific Conference Held on May 29–30, 2014 at the Faculty of Law, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

In the first half of this year, a scientific conference entitled “10 Years in the EU: Relations, Questions, Issues” was held in Košice, and the contributions from this event constitute the content of the present collection bearing the same name.

The aim of the organizers—namely, the Slovak Association of European Law, the Representation of the European Commission in the Slovak Republic, and the Institute of European Law together with the Department of International Law of the Faculty of Law at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University—was not only (even if loosely) to follow up on the previous 2009 conference “Community Law in Slovakia – Five Years ‘After’”, but, after another five years, to continue its main objective: to provide participants from both the academic and non-academic community with a space for further analysis and exchange of views on legal issues related to the membership of the Slovak Republic in the European Union and various current issues of the Union’s legal order.

From this perspective, a shift in the overall focus of the conference contributions in 2009 and 2014 can be observed. While the contributions from the first conference focused primarily on various aspects of the application of Union law in the Slovak legal system and related application problems, especially before courts and other authorities, the basic orientation of the contributions from the second conference is already different. The present collection also confirms that the contributions focus primarily on current issues of the European legal order and on certain aspects of the Union’s external policy, while the relationship of Union law to the Slovak legal system is no longer given primary attention.

Several contributions focus on areas characterized by a certain overlap or “cohabitation” of Union law with public international law, private international law, or, more broadly, international relations.

V první části knihy autoři seznamují čtenáře s anatomickými a histopatologickými charakteristikami peritoneálního povrchu a základní charakteristikou cytoredukční chirurgie (CRS) a hypertermické intraperitoneální chemoterapie (HIPEC). Tato léčba se postupem času stala standardem pro vybrané nádorové entity peritoneálního povrchu. A to přesto, že stále většina lékařů definuje postižení peritonea jako terminální stav nádorového onemocnění, bez možnosti léčby. Toto jistě platí pro některé typy zejména sekundárních nádorů peritonea, avšak u některých typů nádorů dokáže tato léčba významně ovlivnit celkové přežití nemocných či období bez rekurence a některé pacienty i zcela vyléčit. V samostatných kapitolách je zpracována epidemiologie nádorů peritoneálního povrchu, aktuální pohled na patologickou klasifikaci, skórovací systémy pro popis rozsahu peritoneální karcinomatózy, možnosti diagnostiky peritoneálního rozsevu, indikační rozvaha a kritéria pro provedení CRS a HIPEC. Operační výkon a následný HIPEC představují extrémní zátěž pro organismus s obrovským rizikem pooperační morbidity. Nevhodná indikace může vést k prokazatelnému růstu počtu komplikací a zbytečnému rozladění jak na straně ošetřujících lékařů, tak i pacientů a managementu zdravotnického zařízení. Autoři prezentují techniky a postupy vlastní operační preparace při cytoredukčním výkonu a peritonektomii a také techniky a použité režimy cytostatik během fáze HIPEC. Tato stať je jedinečným výstupem vlastních zkušeností a modifikací chirurgického výkonu. Prezentuje příklady použitých cytostatik a délky hypertermie podle jednotlivých typů nádorů peritoneálního povrchu. Autoři se zabývají i pooperačními komplikacemi, významem systémové chemoterapie, režimy a indikacemi (ve spolupráci s Onkologickou klinikou Fakultní nemocnice Olomouc). Popsán je i systém mezinárodní spolupráce a vzdělávání v oboru cytoredukční chemoterapie. Kniha je určena chirurgům, onkologům, internistům, gastroenterologům a gynekologům.

These personalities represent entire scientific teams, participated in the creation of new study programs, and had a significant impact on the formation of the faculty. Factually, we tried to capture the basic data in a uniform structure. We are building on a similar publication from ten years ago, which greatly helped us, especially with professors who worked at the faculty many years ago and whose memories are gradually fading. The ambition of the publication is to contribute to the preservation of basic information that is closely related to the history of the faculty.

The proposed university textbook provides knowledge in the field of nursing in internal medicine. It is intended primarily for students of the nursing program, but also for nurses working in this specialization. The textbook builds on the previous two parts: Nursing Process in Internal Medicine I (Sováriová Soósová, 2006) and Nursing Process in Internal Medicine II (Suchanová, 2007). It is divided into four chapters, focusing on disorders of water and electrolyte balance and acid-base equilibrium, kidney and urinary tract diseases, endocrine system diseases, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Each chapter is similarly structured, beginning with diagnostic methods commonly used in the respective area. Subsequent subchapters address nursing care for selected diseases of specific bodily systems. Each subchapter consists of a clinical introduction (characteristics of the disease, its etiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment) and nursing care for the given disease. This includes assessment, formulation of nursing diagnoses, and planning nursing care (setting goals, outcome criteria, and planning possible interventions).

The textbook serves as a model framework and algorithm for managing nursing care using the nursing process method.

Táto učebnica je určená pre zahraničných študentov medicíny – začiatočníkov – ako slovenčina na špecifický účel výučby. Jej cieľom je pomôcť zahraničným študentom, ktorí (1) študujú medicínu (2) v cudzom jazyku (anglický jazyk) a (3) v zahraničí (Slovensko) zvládnuť výzvu pri príprave na praktickú časť ich štúdia – konverzácia s pacientom v Slovenskom jazyku.Zámerom je poskytnúť študentom krok za krokom najfrekventovanejšie slovné spojenia a výrazy potrebné pri komunikácii s pacientom. Lekcie sa zameriavajú hlavne na slovnú zásobu týkajúcu sa častí ľudského tela a na základné symptómy a príznaky chorôb.Dôraz je kladený na krátke dialógy medzi lekárom a pacientom. Pri precvičovaní dialógov sú študenti vedení k nácviku komunikácie so zreteľom na porozumenie, bez prípadných obáv o gramatickú správnosť. Gramatické javy sú predstavované postupne, cez jednoduché  pomôcky – „tipy“.V prípade potreby si môžu študenti nájsť a doplniť si „chýbajúce časti gramatiky“ prostredníctvom odkazov na odporúčanú literatúru. Cieľom tejto knihy je uľahčiť a zefektívniť celý proces štúdia/osvojenia si (lekárskej) slovenčiny.

Social group looks both as a natural part of human life and it is analyzed and studied, so that knowledge of the social group can be rewarded.

This has been transferred to artificially created groups to help individuals through group work. At the same time, the monograph also considers the method of social work with a group as one of the methods used in various helping professions.
