This teaching guide for instructing students in Internet of Things programming using mathematical modeling and data analysis is intended for mathematics and computer science teachers in elementary and secondary schools, as well as for students training to teach these subjects. It responds to the requirements of the new curriculum reform in Slovakia, which emphasizes a cyclical learning process, the development of data, digital, and mathematical literacy, and the integration of teaching with real-world problems and technologies. The guide is designed in accordance with the methodological framework of design-based research. It contains technological and methodological foundations, as well as a set of proven teaching activities divided into three levels of difficulty. The teaching guide provides teachers with specific instructions, recommendations, and examples of best practices for the meaningful integration of IoT and mathematical modeling into teaching across different educational cycles, creating space for modern, interdisciplinary, and data-driven education.

The lecture notes "Land Information Systems and Smart Cities" provides a comprehensive overview of geoinformation technologies within the context of public administration and modern land management. The publication systematically explains the principles of Land Information Systems (LIS), their architecture, components, and practical applications. Emphasis is placed on linking GIS technologies with real-world applications in local governments, infrastructure organizations, and the business sector. The text covers the hardware and software equipment of LIS, including modern trends such as cloud computing, open-source solutions, and the integration of artificial intelligence.

Special attention is given to data, which represent a key component of LIS, including an overview of the most important geospatial data products in Slovakia. The publication analyzes WebGIS technologies, map portals, and OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WCS) in detail, which enable the effective accessibility and sharing of geodata. This elektronic material provides practical guidance for determining the structure of organic compounds using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry (MS). The publication is intended primarily for single-discipline undergraduate and interdisciplinary undergraduate students in chemistry as a supplementary material for the course Methods of Structure Determination – Spectroscopic Methods. The text is divided into four parts: NMR, IR, MS, and exercises on combined structural analysis. Each section includes a brief theoretical introduction, practical tips for spectrum interpretation, solved examples, and especially unsolved exercises that allow students to practice analyzing real spectra. The material supports the development of analytical thinking and the ability to unambiguously determine the structure of unknown compounds. The publication was created as a teaching aid for seminars. Its goal is to help students effectively understand the combination of spectroscopic methods and their application in the structural analysis of organic compounds.

Slovak for Dentists is a textbook intended for international dental students preparing to communicate professionally in Slovak in a real dental environment. The second, expanded and revised edition is the result of several years of practical use and feedback from students. In terms of content and structure, the textbook focuses on developing all language skills, with particular emphasis on understanding spoken language and oral communication in dentist–patient interactions. The textbook contains 14 lessons, including two review test lessons, as well as a Slovak–English dictionary, an answer key, and six appendices. Compared to the first edition, this version includes updated dialogues in audio format, new texts, revised exercises, and a redesigned layout. The vocabulary is specifically focused on the field of dentistry and the most frequent communication situations in a dental office. The textbook reflects different levels of students’ Slovak language proficiency and also offers additional texts for more advanced learners. The lessons include grammar boxes with practical explanations for learners of Slovak as a foreign language. Ageing is an irreversible process and it is now widely accepted that we can purposefully affect a number of factors that influence ageing process and slow it down. We can attenuate the speed of this process by appropriate physical activity. Physical activity elements plays a key role in the primary and secondary prevention of the ageing population, in the treatment of various diseases and in eliminating their risk factors. Lecture notes provide information and recommendations for implementing exercise programs (EP) designed for seniors who are currently engaged in, or planning to engage in, physical activity (PA). At the same time, we aim to contribute to expanding knowledge in this field and to support the improvement of PA quality for individuals aged 60 and above. In the first part of the teaching materials, we describe the period of old age, its somatic characteristics, and the motor and functional capacities of seniors. We address the diagnostics of somatic traits, as well as motor and functional abilities, the benefits of physical activity in older age, and finally the principles and recommendations for designing exercise programs for seniors. In the following sections, we present implemented exercise programs for seniors and describe exercises that can help maintain or improve their physical abilities. The priority of this publication is to offer effective and safe exercises that promote health and physical activity. The content of the publication is supplemented with photographs and tables that enhance its practical applicability for students and instructors when designing exercise programs for seniors.

The publication Digiform: A Supporting Application to Digilib – User Guide, Part B presents the Digiform web application as a tool that extends the functionality of the Digilib digital library of formative assessment tools. The application enables the creation and editing of formative assessment tool templates, which can be adapted to the specificities of individual subjects and levels of education and subsequently imported into the Digilib environment for use in the teaching process. The guide provides a detailed description of how to work with the Digiform application, from creating new templates, editing and personalising them, through to their export and implementation in the main Digilib application. Attention is also given to the interconnection with the Digilib Images application, which enables the integration of visual elements into the assessment tools, thereby enhancing their didactic effectiveness and visual appeal. The guide is intended for teachers at all levels of education, student teachers, school administrators, and digital coordinators who are interested in the systematic use of the Digilib digital library to support the implementation of formative assessment, enhance the quality of the educational process, and foster the development of students’ self-assessment and reflective competences.

The conference proceedings FORMATIVE 2025 – Implementing Formative Assessment in Schools Together constitute the output of an online conference organised by the Institute of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in cooperation with the National Institute of Education and Youth in Bratislava, within the framework of the KEGA project No. 001UPJŠ-4/2023. EFFUSE - Scientific Education for Advanced is an educational material designed for university students interested in ecological sciences, biology and environmental protection. The publication was developed as part of the EFFUSE project and focuses on the scientific investigation of living organisms in the river ecosystem, with an emphasis on their ecological role and importance as bioindicators. The river ecosystem is a dynamic environment where a wide range of organisms can be studied, from algae and phytoplankton to aquatic invertebrates, fish, amphibians and reptiles. This publication presents a detailed study of their adaptations, life cycles, reproductive strategies and their importance for ecological balance. Particular attention is paid to fish and amphibians, whose environmental demands and sensitivity to pollution make them important indicators of water quality and environmental status. The publication also provides guidance on how to integrate their study into university education in the form of practical research. It also includes a chapter on science education in the context of sustainable development, which is often absent from university curricula in Slovakia and Ukraine. This material promotes the link between theory and practice and develops students' scientific thinking in order to prepare them to meet the environmental challenges of the future.

The EFFUSE Teacher's Guide is a practical educational material for primary and secondary school teachers who want to develop environmental awareness with their pupils through field-based learning. It is based on the concept of the EFFUSE project (‘Environment for the future by science education’), which aims to link science, research and education with environmental protection. The manual provides teachers with methodological support for planning and implementing outdoor activities aimed at observing and documenting organisms around the Laborec River and the Uh River. It contains instructions for working with real samples, basic biomonitoring procedures and offers the opportunity to participate in the creation of a virtual laboratory that mirrors the state of the local aquatic ecosystem. Through these activities, pupils will learn to understand the links between human activity and the state of the environment, while learning the basics of how scientists work in the fields of biology and ecology. The guide also motivates teachers to become agents of positive change, inspire the younger generation to be active and engage the community in conservation. It is a challenge and an opportunity to create a space for meaningful learning in line with current trends in environmental and digital education.

EFFUSE - A Guide for Students is an interactive educational resource for primary and secondary school students to help them better understand how their daily activities affect the environment. The handbook was developed within the EFFUSE project (‘Environment for the future by science education’) and motivates young people to take a greater interest in the nature around them. It focuses on practical field activities during which they will explore the ecosystem of the Laborec and Uh rivers, observe and document organisms and work with real samples from nature. At the same time, they will learn about the work of scientists - botanists, zoologists and microbiologists - and learn basic biomonitoring methods. The manual will also guide them through the process of creating a virtual laboratory to display the results of their investigations of an aquatic ecosystem. It will help them understand the importance of sustainable development and encourage them to behave responsibly towards nature. It is their opportunity to learn about their surroundings in a new way, to learn to think scientifically and to become active creators of positive change for their community and future generations.

Forensic Medicine is a medical discipline that is concerned with determination of the cause of death in cases violent and non-violent deaths by performing an autopsy. It is based on morphological findings, which characterize the effects of various forms of violence, as well as pathological changes in various diseases. The presented textbook provides comprehensive and complete overview of the fundamental tasks and theoretical knowledge of the field of forensic medicine. Its aim is to provide a theoretical basis in the form of images of morphological autopsy findings for the study of the compulsory subject Forensic Medicine and Medical Law in the study programs General Medicine and Dentistry. The author emphasizes the necessity to understand the fundamentals of forensic medicine in every medical field and a multidisciplinary approach in clarifying medico-legal issues.
