The university textbook is intended for students enrolled in the Chemical Laboratory Specialist study programme. The textbook presents basic laboratory equipment, glassware, tools, and balances. It explains the proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory glassware. It describes basic purification and separation methods, such as filtration, distillation, and extraction, and covers thin-layer chromatography and NMR spectroscopy. The practical section consists of ten laboratory experiments from various fields of chemistry, focusing on the preparation of substances, work with solutions, and basic analytical determinations. Students become familiar with titrations and the measurement of viscosity, pH, and density. The laboratory exercises also include water analysis, spectrophotometry, and work with biological material. Attention is also given to the isolation of substances from natural sources and their subsequent identification. Throughout the university textbook, theoretical knowledge is directly linked to practical laboratory procedures. The textbook supports the development of safe and technically correct working habits required for further study and professional practice.

Organized by Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility (European XFEL) in Hamburg and the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, SFEL 2026 continues a long-standing tradition of educational events dedicated to advanced photon and neutron research infrastructures. SFEL 2026 brings together 115 participants from 13 countries, with a particular focus on students, doctoral candidates, and early-career researchers. Through lectures delivered by leading international experts, oral and poster presentations, hands-on training activities, and a satellite meeting devoted to the European Solar Telescope project, the school promotes knowledge transfer, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of new scientific partnerships. As the ninth event of the SFEL series, SFEL 2026 further strengthens the links between Slovak researchers and major European facilities, including European XFEL, ILL, ESRF, DESY, and emerging ESFRI infrastructures.

Didactics of geography is an independent scientific discipline, the brief historical development of which is presented in the introductory chapter. The goals and content of geographical education in the context of school reforms are elaborated in subsequent chapters.

The guide is designed in accordance with the methodological framework of design-based research. It contains technological and methodological foundations, as well as a set of proven teaching activities divided into three levels of difficulty. The teaching guide provides teachers with specific instructions, recommendations, and examples of best practices for the meaningful integration of IoT and mathematical modeling into teaching across different educational cycles, creating space for modern, interdisciplinary, and data-driven education.

This elektronic material provides practical guidance for determining the structure of organic compounds using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry (MS). The publication is intended primarily for single-discipline undergraduate and interdisciplinary undergraduate students in chemistry as a supplementary material for the course Methods of Structure Determination – Spectroscopic Methods. The text is divided into four parts: NMR, IR, MS, and exercises on combined structural analysis. Okrem zabezpečenia potrebnej učebnice pre vysoké školy, hlavný cieľ spočíva v snahe podať študentom a mladým vedeckým pracovníkom základnú orientáciu v danej problematike, a to tak v pojmovej oblasti, ako aj v teoretickej. V neposlednom rade  učebnica napĺňa ambíciu motivovať záujem k ďalšej tvorivej akademickej práce a v rozširovaní vedomostí z oblasti zahraničnej, bezpečnostnej a medzinárodnej politiky v prepojení na diplomaciou.

The publication Digiform: A Supporting Application to Digilib – User Guide, Part B presents the Digiform web application as a tool that extends the functionality of the Digilib digital library of formative assessment tools. The application enables the creation and editing of formative assessment tool templates, which can be adapted to the specificities of individual subjects and levels of education and subsequently imported into the Digilib environment for use in the teaching process. The guide provides a detailed description of how to work with the Digiform application, from creating new templates, editing and personalising them, through to their export and implementation in the main Digilib application. Attention is also given to the interconnection with the Digilib Images application, which enables the integration of visual elements into the assessment tools, thereby enhancing their didactic effectiveness and visual appeal. The publication EFFUSE – Educational Materials for the Public was developed within the EFFUSE project and focuses on current environmental issues of river landscapes. It emphasizes the importance of water as an irreplaceable resource and the need to protect it. Special attention is given to bioindicators – organisms whose presence or absence reflects the state of the environment. Monitoring bioindicators makes it possible to detect ecosystem changes before serious damage occurs. The publication highlights that biodiversity is essential for ecosystem stability and health.
