The first personal monograph, On the Lyrical Triptych of Maša Haľamová (Life and Work), by co-authors Ivica Hajdučeková and Iveta Bónová, presents the results of archival research and analytical-interpretative insights into the structure of poetic texts. Life events at key points (V znamení osmičiek, Domov na brehu jazera, V ruchu redakčnej práce, Fáza po Mladých letách) are reconstructed based on autobiographical memories, archival documents, personal correspondence, as well as unpublished or published articles and interviews. An intriguing perspective on the author´s work is offered by self-referential notes and a reconstruction of opinions on her poetics and the artistic value of her poetry from the years 1928 – 2017, as expressed by contemporary and modern literary critics. The reconstruction of the genesis of the poem Dar (Gift), which relates to her connections with A. Kostolný and E.B. Lukáč, revealed the underpinnings of poetic inspiration and confirmed the productivity of archival research and exegetical methods. The analytical-interpretative insight into lyrical triptych Dar – Červený mak – Smrť tvoju žijem, realized through a spectrum of differentiated spirituality and the method of hermeneutic reading with an emphasis on the function of polyvocality, demonstrated that meta-empirical reality is shaped through natural imagery and the function of allusion. Across the three poetry collections, the lyrical parable and the process of spiritualization or spiritual growth of the lyrical subject are depicted, emblemized by the red poppy, blooming limber pine, and flowering moss. In conjunction with the analysis of the rhythmic-melodic structure of free yet phonetically organized verse – utilizing not only the folkloric inspirations of folk songs and ballads but also the religious tradition of spiritual hymns, prayers, and psalms – which confirmed that the poet´s sense and sensitivity for the „colourfulness“ of sounds and the „melodiousness“ of tones contributed to the architectural formation of the final form. This form is inseparably infused with the meta-empirical dimension of spirituality (eisos – eidos – Logos).

The methodological manual entitled "Mandatory disclosure of information at the municipal level" defines the procedure, identified problem areas and recommendations/examples of good practice in the process of making information available upon request. The presented manual also draws attention to legal regulations and information with which municipalities come into contact most often and which, according to their wording, are required to be published.

Metodická príručka vznikla ako praktický výstup projektu APVV-19-0284 „Faktory výberu a dosahovania dlhodobých cieľov u mladých ľudí v období prechodu do dospelosti“ Katedry psychológie Filozofickej fakulty Univerzity Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach. Obdobie prechodu do dospelosti je charakteristické mnohými zmenami, nestabilitou a neistotou, ktoré sú úzko spojené aj so snahou o dosiahnutie cieľov z rôznych oblastí života – či už ide o vzdelávanie, rodinu/vzťahy, kariéru alebo osobný rast. V rámci projektu bola preto pozornosť venovaná bližšiemu preskúmaniu procesu dosahovania týchto cieľov u ľudí v období nastupujúcej dospelosti. Výskumné zistenia pomohli doplniť doposiaľ chýbajúce informácie o špecifikách tejto problematiky, ako aj poskytnúť účelný základ pre potenciálnu aplikáciu intervenčných aktivít.

If we were to conduct a study on the popularity of subjects among social work students, the subjects of Research Methodology and Statistics would likely rank low on the list. It is precisely the lack of popularity of research methodology among students that led to the preparation of this textbook. The stylistic approach of this text was chosen with the intention of introducing the fundamentals of methodology to students encountering it for the first time, without alienating methodologists. The text primarily serves as a teaching aid for the course "Exercise in Research Methodology" and the seminars "Bachelor Thesis Seminar" and "Master's Thesis Seminar." Throughout the entire textbook, examples and case studies are interwoven and visually highlighted. The text endeavors to address the fundamental question that is key to motivating and understanding the essence of research methodology: why is research necessary for social workers? The scientific monograph "Spirituality in Slovak Realist and Modernist Literature" reevaluates interpretative approaches to the spiritual dimension in prose texts of Slovak literature from the realist and modernist periods. The author transcends stereotypical views on spirituality, often confined to religious themes, and advocates for an interdisciplinary approach and new methodological approaches in literary-critical research. The monograph focuses on literary characters and their spiritual dimension in connection with other compositional and semantic elements of literary texts. It does not offer a definitive view on the topic but aims to open discussion and highlight the need for a reassessment of the literary canon and the openness of artistic literature to multiple interpretations. The analysis of texts from Slovak realism and literary modernism demonstrated a differentiated spirituality and its artistic portrayal. The phenomenon of spirituality is present in the texts along the axis of explicitness - implicitness - latency and has its specific manifestation in shaping literary characters through psychologization, introspection, and spiritual depth.

Tradícia organizovania kolokvií na Slovensku už štandardne prináleží vždy inému akademickému slovakistickému pracovisku. Jeho XXXI. ročník sa realizoval pod organizačnou taktovkou Katedry slovakistiky, slovanských filológií a komunikácie Filozofickej fakulty UPJŠ v Košiciach, ako aj košickej pobočky Slovenskej jazykovednej spoločnosti a Slovenskej jazykovednej spoločnosti pri Jazykovednom ústave Ľ. Štúra SAV, v. v.i. V univerzitných priestoroch Učebno-výcvikového zariadenia Danišovce sa počasdvojdňového podujatia stretli nádejní mladí jazykovedci nielen zo Slovenska, ale aj z Českej republiky. Výstupom kolokvia mladých jazykovedcov býva najprv zborník abstraktov, publikovaný už v čase realizovania podujatia, a neskôr zborník príspevkov ako pripomienka tejto udalosti a tiež ako odraz vedeckých záujmov mladých lingvistov. Kolokvialisti prezentovali svoje príspevky venované výskumným problémom z rôznych oblastí jazykovedy, a to z oblasti korpusovej lingvistiky, onomastiky, morfológie, dialektológie, syntaxe, štylistiky, lexikológie, frazeológie aj didaktiky, niektorí dokonca s presahom do literárnych textov.

Proceedings of the 13th Scientific Conference of Young Historians, organized by the Department of History of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice in cooperation with the State Archives in Košice and the Slovak Historical Society at the Slovak Academy of Sciences on 24 October 2023 The central theme of the conference proceedings of the scientific conference of doctoral students is the issue of power as an instance that is an inherent part of human existence and has been present in society de facto since its beginning. Since power and the desire for power are present even today, perhaps more than at any other time in the history of human society, the proceedings provide adequate answers to the questions: where is power born and from what does it originate? How do social science disciplines view those social groups that do not hold power? The publication consists of eight contributions by authors working at Slovak and Czech universities. The volume opens with a paper by Dávid Nykodým on power in the city of silver in the era of Jiří of Poděbrady. The administration of estates in the hands of widows in the 17th century (on the example of Judith Balassa) was discussed by Sabina Danková. The issue of the role of the university grand master in the monopolization of education during the First Empire 1808-1815 in France was examined by Michael Dudzik. The period between the two world wars on the territory of Czechoslovakia was mapped in their contributions by two authors: Simona Bilecová, who characterized the emergence and creation of the political elite on the example of the Rožňava region, and Dominik Šípoš, who evaluated the power of the party as an ideological problem of the Czechoslovak National Democracy. This line was continued by Patrik Beňuš, who analysed in detail the crisis in railway transport in the southern territory of Slovakia after 1938. Monika Tresová dealt with the activities of Catholic associations in Košice and their disappearance under the pressure of the communist power after 1948. Miriama Balvirčáková dealt with the power and its legitimacy, judicial rehabilitation of the victims of the communist regime in Eastern Slovakia in 1968-1971.

V nadväzujúcej IV kapitole označenej nadpisom Právny štát autor, zvýrazňujúc organickú väzbu medzi demokratickým a právnym štátom, venuje pozornosť historickému vývoju idey právneho štátu, analýze princípov právneho štátu a základom teórie konštitucionalizmu. We present the proceedings "The Folk Tale in Contexts" to the professional public as the outcome of the eponymous international scientific colloquium, which took place on December 12, 2022. Our aim was, among other things, to open a discussion on verbal folklore in broader interpretative, transcultural, and ultimately also interdisciplinary contexts—a goal that was achieved especially in the latter respect. Although the contributors primarily work in the fields of folklore studies and literary science, their methodological approaches from other—sometimes even more distant—disciplines expand the current discourse to a remarkable breadth. This is proof that research on the folk tale remains vibrant and open to new challenges.

Research Into Correlations Between Deformations of Political Awareness and the Increase of Political Extremism Among Secondary School Students in the Košice Self-governing Region and the Prešov.
Self-governing Region The issue of political extremism has a relatively long research period, and it should be emphasised that, especially in the recent period, it has received increased attention in the political science community not just in Slovakia but also abroad. Given the specifics of this anti-democratic form of political discourse, which has not only explicit forms, but also highly sophisticated manifestations against democracy (extremism of the centre, or centrist extremism), it is also addressed by experts of other humanities and social disciplines: history, psychology, anthropology, sociology, etc.
The common interest of this professional community is both to analyse different forms of extremist discourses and narratives, to search for national specificities of extremism that are anchored in their historical, social and cultural contexts, but at the same time to reveal transnational extremist influences within a globalizing world and to propose evidence-based strategies to counter extremist discourses.

"The presented peer-reviewed collection of contributions titled "Present and Future of Social Work in the Reflection of Social Changes" is the output of a scientific conference with international participation, marking the 10th anniversary of the Košické dni sociálnej práce, held on November 25, 2022.
The conference was dedicated to the vision of social work, its methods, and techniques in the context of societal changes. With the changing times come new challenges to which social work must be prepared to respond. The central focus of the collection is the search for answers to pre-defined questions: "Is the current social work system adequately configured for current societal problems? Can social work promptly respond to new and unknown challenges? Are the known methods of social work effective in dealing with contemporary negative phenomena? Do we need additional methods?
If so, what are they?" Individual contributions touch on theoretical concepts in the search for answers, but they also include empirically based contributions that reflect research results from various areas of society and problematic situations, with a view to providing recommendations for both the theory and practice of social work.

The monograph is devoted to social support, set in the adolescent's environment. Social support can also be described as relational support from the environment in which the individual lives, and thus increases his resistance to stress and the desire to overcome life's failures and crises. It is for this reason that social support was also defined in the context of social-ecological theory. An innovation in the relationship with social support was the "Push-pull" theory, oriented to the individual's motivation.
The defining anchoring of social support was built on its most famous theories. However, the greatest attention was focused on the possibilities of measuring social support, because its multidimensional measurement is necessary to determine the mechanism by which it works. The monograph therefore offered the author's validation processing and verification of psychometric properties of two separate methodologies Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) - (Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet, Farley 1988) and Social Support Survey (MOS) - (Sherbourne, Stewart 1991).
The monograph results in two validation-verified separate methodologies for measuring types and sources of social support, which are reliable for use in a group of Slovak adolescents (MOS-SK and MSPSS-SK).

The theme of the conference proceedings is the issue of sources, their interpretation and use of current digital technologies in their research and access. The proceedings constit of 7 papers by authors working in Slovak and Czech universities.
The digitisation of seals is the subject of the paper by Barbora Borůvková. Michael Dudzik deals with the problem of building the road network in modern France and written and cartographic sources. Trends of digitization in Slovak archives and their perception by researchers are elaborated by in Miriama Fialkovičová´s study. Miriama Filčáková dealt with sources on the history of tertiary education in Košice in connection with the establishment of the UPJŠ. The possibilities of researching sources on the electrification of Slovakia are dealt with in the study by Dominik Hrtus. Ondrej Šály in his paper treated the letters of serfs in the 18th century as a source for economic history. Vavrinec Žeňuch discusses the possibilities of researching the eclesiastical history of the Uh county in the modern period.
