The publication is designed as a teaching and study resource in the form of course materials that complement formal instruction. It offers a thematically structured core vocabulary, a systematic and clearly organised presentation of key thematic areas and problem domains, and a wide range of task types aimed not only at the acquisition of subject-specific knowledge but also at the development of professional and linguistic competences. This proceedings of scientific papers presents papers from the international scientific conference of the same name, which took place from 24 to 26 September 2025 at the UPJŠ in Košice and was supported by the projects APVV-23-0158 "Reform of the Customs Union in the Era of Electronic Commerce in the Slovak Republic" and VEGA 1/0698/25 "Development Fee as a Tool for the Development of Municipalities and Cities in the Slovak Republic". Individual papers are aimed at addressing current issues of tax law, budgetary law and financial market law in the context of the challenges of the ongoing multi-crisis (starting with the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the extreme increase in energy and other supplies costs or inflation, and the subsequent need for consolidation of public finances). The papers are divided into two parts, where in the first part, indivídua! authors focus on national reports - a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of the aforementioned multi-crisis in individual V4 countries - in the areas of taxes, budgets and financial markets, and in the second part, individua! Authors focus on more specific issues in the aforementioned three thematic areas.

EFFUSE - Scientific Education for Advanced is an educational material designed for university students interested in ecological sciences, biology and environmental protection. The publication was developed as part of the EFFUSE project and focuses on the scientific investigation of living organisms in the river ecosystem, with an emphasis on their ecological role and importance as bioindicators. The river ecosystem is a dynamic environment where a wide range of organisms can be studied, from algae and phytoplankton to aquatic invertebrates, fish, amphibians and reptiles. This publication presents a detailed study of their adaptations, life cycles, reproductive strategies and their importance for ecological balance. Particular attention is paid to fish and amphibians, whose environmental demands and sensitivity to pollution make them important indicators of water quality and environmental status. The publication also provides guidance on how to integrate their study into university education in the form of practical research. It also includes a chapter on science education in the context of sustainable development, which is often absent from university curricula in Slovakia and Ukraine. This material promotes the link between theory and practice and develops students' scientific thinking in order to prepare them to meet the environmental challenges of the future.

Forensic Medicine is a medical discipline that is concerned with determination of the cause of death in cases violent and non-violent deaths by performing an autopsy. It is based on morphological findings, which characterize the effects of various forms of violence, as well as pathological changes in various diseases. The presented textbook provides comprehensive and complete overview of the fundamental tasks and theoretical knowledge of the field of forensic medicine. Its aim is to provide a theoretical basis in the form of images of morphological autopsy findings for the study of the compulsory subject Forensic Medicine and Medical Law in the study programs General Medicine and Dentistry. The author emphasizes the necessity to understand the fundamentals of forensic medicine in every medical field and a multidisciplinary approach in clarifying medico-legal issues.

Self-governing Region The issue of political extremism has a relatively long research period, and it should be emphasised that, especially in the recent period, it has received increased attention in the political science community not just in Slovakia but also abroad. Given the specifics of this anti-democratic form of political discourse, which has not only explicit forms, but also highly sophisticated manifestations against democracy (extremism of the centre, or centrist extremism), it is also addressed by experts of other humanities and social disciplines: history, psychology, anthropology, sociology, etc.

The common interest of this professional community is both to analyse different forms of extremist discourses and narratives, to search for national specificities of extremism that are anchored in their historical, social and cultural contexts, but at the same time to reveal transnational extremist influences within a globalizing world and to propose evidence-based strategies to counter extremist discourses.

Reviewed Proceedings of the 3rd Annual Student Symposium

The Intemational Scientific Conference - V. Slovak-Czech days of tax law on the topic Tax Law and New Phenomena in the Economy was held 5th - 6th June 2023 in Košice. Onthis occasion, a student symposium on the topic: "Financial Law and Tax Law in the 21st Century" was organized for students of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University Faculty of Law in Košice on 7th June 2023. The focus of the symposium was chosen due to the content of thegrant project VEGA no. 1/0485/21: "Simultaneity and possibilities of reforming the system ofown resources of the EU budget (legal and economic aspects also in the context of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic) ",of the grant project VEGA no.1/0214/21: "Taxa/ionof real property - legal status and polential" and of the grant project APVV-19-0124 entitled" Tax law and new phenomena in the economy (digital services, sharedeconomy,virtualcurrencies) ", which are currently being addressed at the Department of Financial Law, Tax Law and Economy, Faculty of Law, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

The output of this symposium is a reviewed proceeding of papers, in which students focus on examining the issues of new phenomena in the digital economy (virtual currencies and the shared economy), but also the iss ues of the budget process, thedecision - making activity of the Court of Justice of the EU and theoretical - legal issues of tax justice with regard to the development of tax law.

The authors also assess in detail the current situation in the research area, and they also present de lege ferenda proposals that could contribute to the development and improvementof several aspects of taxation, which is a benefit not only for legal science but also for application practice.
