Otázky trestania sú priamo spojené s trestnou politikou štátu, ktorá je neoddeliteľnou súčasťou sociálnej politiky. Dlhodobo má štát v oblasti trestania osobitné dominantné postavenie. Ak boli splnené podmienky, za ktorých môže byť uložený trest, štát si splní svoju povinnosť. Trest uloží prostredníctvom nezávislých súdov. Pritom nerieši otázky satisfakcie, ktorá prináleží obeti. Obeť môže byť v podobe konkrétnej fyzickej osoby či právnickej osoby, ktorej trestným činom bola spôsobená škoda. Táto škoda súbežne vzniká aj občianskej spoločnosti ako celku. Priorizuje sa povinnosť štátu trestať a rozhodovať v danej veci, pred odškodnením samotného poškodeného, či odškodnením občianskej spoločnosti. Zmeny, ktoré nastali v oblasti trestného práva v posledných niekoľkých rokoch, vyplynuli aj z právnych predpisov Európskej únie. Demokratizácia spoločnosti nastoľuje potrebu zabezpečiť ochranu práv a slobôd občanov, ako aj ochranu celého demokratického systému prostriedkami restoratívnej, teda netrestajúcej justície. Od priorizovania trestania sa pristupuje k posilneniu práv poškodeného v prípade trestného činu, ktorý sa ho dotýka. Ide o možnosť obete rozhodnúť o opatreniach, ktoré majú postihnúť páchateľa trestného činu tak, aby to samotná obeť považovala za dostatočnú satisfakciu. V tejto súvislosti vzniká aj v Slovenskej republike inštitút probačného a mediačného úradníka a samostatnej pozície mediátora, ako riešiteľa občianskoprávnych, rodinných, pracovných a podobných sporov. Tieto nové inštitúty spájajú prvky trestnej justície, sociálnej práce, psychológie, sociológie a ďalších odborov. Pôsobia najmä v oblasti práva, využívajú metódy a postupy sociálnej práce, čím navodzujú zmenu filozofie trestania v trestnom práve. Výkon mediácie a probácie predpokladá poznanie metód a postupov vlastných sociálnej práci. Z uvedeného dôvodu danú problematiku rozpracovávame z pozícií sociálnej práce a poukazujeme na tie oblasti, ktoré sú jej vlastné. Často sa práve v súvislosti s probáciou a mediáciou stretávame s pojmom „sociálna práca v justícii“. Mediáciou v trestných veciach rozumieme mimosúdne sprostredkovanie riešenia sporu medzi škodcom a poškodeným, za asistencie a osobnej účasti mediátora. Mediátor ako nezávislá a nestranná osoba pomáha stranám identifikovať ich záujmy a podporuje ich v hľadaní spoločných praktických a reálnych riešení v bodoch, ktoré spôsobili ich konflikt. Probáciou sa rozumie vykonávanie kontroly, dohľadu nad obvineným, obžalovaným alebo odsúdeným, ako aj individuálna pomoc páchateľovi a pôsobenie tak, aby viedol riadny život. Znižuje sa riziko recidívy, opakovaného páchania trestnej činnosti.

Grant project VEGA No. 1/0736/15 Methodological Basis of Literary (re)interpretation in Slovak and World Literature (the head of the project: prof. PhDr. Ján Gbúr, CSc.), whose realization lasted for four years (2015 – 2018) at the Department of Slovak Studies, Slavonic Philologies and Communication of Faculty of Arts of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, brought several lecture events with the participation of experts from Slovak and Czech academical space. The original and progressively accomplishing project goal was to continue the tradition of exactness and support its implementation into our everyday scientific thinking and literary-scientific exploration. Each of fourteen invited lectures was a unique, professionally inspiring and humanly enriching meeting. On that account there is a nontraditional project output: the proceedings of selected lectures and abstracts (abstracts were translated into English language by Mgr. Dominika Petáková, internal postgraduate student of literary science at Department of Slovak Studies, Slavonic Philologies and Communication) titled Methodological Inspirations in the Research of Literary Science I., which is intended for academical and study purposes at universities. The topics of the lectures were completed successively according to interest and demands of research team and current scientific research of invited guests.

The burnout syndrome in the simplest sense is a state of total physical and psychological exhaustion. Its cyclical course may be misleading, often underestimated and neglected on the part of a burned-out individual, as well as by its surroundings. The neglection of warning signals strengthens the field of its occurrence and impact.

Helping professions are characterized by a number of specificities, including phenomenom associated with frequent and intense contact with "unknown" people. In addition to the many positive aspects, work with people also involves burnout syndrome. This is a very unpleasant "experience" with possible devastating effects on a potentially highly effective expert. Burning syndrome affects ot those people who practice their profession with a high intellectual and emotional attitude. The central interest of the helping profession is man in his bio-psycho-socio-spiritual unity. The helping worker in relation to client acts as the main tool and must be able to act against each client / patient not only in the context of these components but also in the context of their individuality. The Combination of lack of social support, inadequate motivation, or dissatisfaction with the work environment, these determinants can lead to the onset of burnout syndrome, which many times represents a treacherous gap that makes  lot of difficulties and can last for several years.

Monography is one of the methods with which we strive to draw attention to the problem of burnout syndrome in the performance of a helping profession. Based on this, we have focused on determining the frequency of occurrence of burnout syndrome in assisting professions based on predetermined risk factors (specific profesion, length of practice, motivators) in order to verify, confirm or refute  predefined factors. The subject of this research was also to examine the correlation between the aforementioned factors, the quality of professional life and the strategies for managing stress and stress situations. The monography is intended for helping profesions e.g. social workers, nurses, doctors etc. We also believe that, this monography will be also benefit for a wider range of helping professions, as well for all those involved in the his problematics.

The current situation in the world education system, which declares the need to educate students for knowledge society, for improving the graduate employability is behind the motivation of authors to address competencies and key competencies for the knowledge society. The authors present theoretical and empirical investigations based on the application of scientific methods of competency assessment and the use of contemporary scientific paradigms. The starting point is the concept of competencies in the context of current approaches of scientific psychology, which resonates in the official documents of the European Union and has been elaborated and enriched by the authors. The monograph focuses on a selected set of competencies, namely: competence to act as a self-regulated person, self-development, decision-making competencies, social and metacognitive competencies in the context of motivation. Knowledge about nature, the structure of competencies are presented, as well as their relations with personal and environmental variables. The effort of the authors is also aimed at making available knowledge about the possibilities of assessing these competencies using current methods. Authors communicate the results of the creation and verification of competency assessment methods. The implementation of the research results presented in the monograph is perspective in the education and counseling of the target group of university students.

The collection of articles from the VII. International Scientific Conference for Students and Young Scientists, organized by the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Arts of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in cooperation with the Res Publica Civic Association the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, held on 17 May 2019 in Košice.

The aim of this publication, entitled The Turning Eights, is to point out the importance of the years ending with number eight, which have significantly affected historical development and appear to be justified in the current political context.

The almanac consists of 11 articles, which are primarily in the Slovak language. The individual contributions deal with aspects of national and foreign policies that are united in theme called The Turning Eightswith the individual interest of each author.

The topics of the almanac are the municipal elections, the position of municipalities at the public administration system, development in self-governing regions and the non-governmental organizations. The presented publication also contains articles that deal with topics in specific countries, such as China, Israel and Russia.

The formation of social work as a scientific discipline is not a completed process because of with changes in society also change social problems that need to be identified and analyzed with the intention to develop methodological solutions aimed at preventing and interventing these social problems.For this reason, the field of social work as such is constantly expanding, as its dynamic nature makes it possible to respond to emerging social problems and react to the needs of society.Social work in the school environment is a functioning science field abroad.In the conditions of the Slovak Republic, this area of social work is still missing.Therefore, the monograph deals with the possibilities of social work in the school environment in Slovakia. The formation of social work as a scientific discipline is not a complete process, as changes in society also change the social problems that need to be identified and analyzed with the intention to develop methodological solutions aimed at preventing and intervening these social problems.For this reason, the field of social work as such is constantly expanding, as its dynamic nature makes it possible to respond to emerging social problems and respond to the needs of society.Social work in the school environment is a functioning science field abroad. The publication "Manifestations of Radicalism and Extremism in Social Relations" is an input analysis of the individual areas that the authors want to focus on in their research activities in the study of radicalism and extremism. The context of the study is in the possibility of social work in influencing radical and extremist tendencies in those areas that we can designate as working fields of social work. The authors of the individual papers focus on the theoretical definition of extremism and radicalism, types and forms of extremism, factors affecting the formation of the radical and extremist thoughts, focusing on specific target groups (especially youth) and the role of social work in the issue of radicalism and extremism, and they also represent the results of research in the field.

Medzinárodná vedecká konferencia je zameraná na problematiku vzdelávania a výchovy v oblasti základného, stredného a vysokého školstva a školských zariadení z pohľadu pedagóga. Zreteľ kladie na súčasný stav a perspektívy pedagóga 21. storočia v edukačnej praxi, pedagogické a sociologické aspekty výchovy v základných vzdelávacích a výchovných inštitúciách, ako aj aktuálne aspekty pregraduálnej prípravy pedagógov. Ivica Hajdučeková a kol.  

Štvorročný grantový projekt VEGA č. 1/0736/15 Metodologické prieniky do (re)interpretácie diel slovenskej a svetovej literatúry (vedúci: prof. PhDr. Ján Gbúr, CSc.), ktorý bol riešený na Katedre slovakistiky, slovanských filológií a komunikácie FF UPJŠ v Košiciach v rokoch 2015 – 2018, priniesol počas svojho trvania niekoľko výstupov. Okrem samostatných vedeckých štúdií publikovaných priebežne časopisecky, doma aj v zahraničí, bol vydaný zborník z medzinárodnej vedeckej konferencie Text v kontextoch. Text v interdisciplinárnych interpretáciách (2018) a tiež vedecká monografia Duchovnosť v (re)interpretácii diel slovenskej literatúry (2016). Túto viacročnú spoluprácu tímu spoluriešiteľov završujú dva kľúčové publikačné výstupy, ktoré tvoria komplementárny, myšlienkovo prepojený celok:
1. Metodologické inšpirácie v literárnovednom výskume I (Zborník vybraných prednášok a abstraktov),
2. Metodologické inšpirácie v literárnovednom výskume II (monografia).

Elektronický zborník abstraktov a videozáznamov z priebežne realizovaných prednáškových kolokvií – na ktorých vystúpili viaceré osobnosti zo slovenského, ale aj z českého akademického prostredia – a vedecká monografia sa koncepčne dopĺňajú. Svedčí o tom aj voľba rovnomenných názvov, číselne odlíšených, ktorými sledujeme vopred stanovený projektový zámer, t. j. nadviazať na tradíciu exaktnosti v literárnovednom výskume s akcentom na metodologický pluralizmus. Súbežne aj na propagáciu súčasného, generačne rozvrstveného bádateľského zázemia v univerzitnom priestore na východnom Slovensku, ktoré sa dlhoročne viaže (aj keď historicky divergentne) na akademické prostredie Univerzity P. J. Šafárika v Košiciach.

Do autorskej zostavy siedmich kapitol monografie boli okrem členov Katedry slovakistiky, slovanských filológií a komunikácie FF UPJŠ zaradení aj dvaja kolegovia z iných vedeckých pracovísk, a to Mgr. Jana Piroščáková (Pácalová), PhD., literárna vedkyňa zo Slovenskej akadémie vied v Bratislave, a prof. PhDr. Lubomír Machala, CSc., univerzitný profesor z Olomouca v Českej republike, ktorí svojimi príspevkami dopĺňajú nielen výskumné zameranie publikácie, ale aj symbolicky zastupujú fakt, že spolupráca na našom pracovisku nie je do seba uzavretá, ale má prirodzené odborové presahy, a to smerom k vedecko-výskumnej inštitúcii, akú Slovenská akadémia vied v Bratislave predstavuje, ale aj smerom k historicky podmienenej väzbe na český univerzitný priestor. Uvedená stratégia medziinštitucionálnej spolupráce bola uplatnená v oboch projektových výstupoch.

Učebnica Základy metodológie pedagogicko-psychologického výskumu je primárne určená študentom učiteľstva akademických predmetov, ale obohatí každého, kto sa potrebuje oboznámiť s metodológiou výskumu so zameraním na psychologické a pedagogické vedy. V učebnici sa študenti zoznámia so základnými princípmi realizácie výskumu, s postupom realizácie výskumu a so základnými metódami kvantitatívneho či kvalitatívneho prístupu. Príklady použité v učebnici sú zamerané zväčša na výskum realizovaný v prostredí školy. Osvojením si základných poznatkov uvedených v učebnici bude čitateľ schopný zrealizovať jednoduchý výskum v podmienkach školy. Zároveň však porozumenie princípom metodológie výskumu napomáha kritickému hodnoteniu informácií z rôznych zdrojov.

Pri príprave učebnice sme využili naše dlhoročné skúsenosti s vyučovaním predmetu metodológia výskumu, ako i s realizovaním mnohých výskumných projektov. Veríme, že jednoduchý jazyk učebnice a množstvo praktických ukážok a príkladov pomôžu študentom porozumieť základom takej komplikovanej problematiky, akou je metodológia výskumu.

Radi by sme na tomto mieste poďakovali študentkám a študentom Filozofickej a Prírodovedeckej fakulty Univerzity P. J. Šafárika v Košiciach, ktorí v minulom akademickom roku navštevovali predmet základy metodológie pedagogicko-psychologického výskumu, za inšpiráciu, podnetné pripomienky k predchádzajúcim verziám textu a nápady (či omyly), z ktorých v učebnici čerpáme. Zároveň ďakujeme i ďalším študentkám, ktoré nám umožnili použiť v učebnici príklady z ich záverečných prác.

Intervenčný program na podporu starostlivosti o seba pre pomáhajúce profesie s názvom Ako sa o seba starám? vznikol v rámci riešenia výskumnej úlohy APVV14-0921 „Starostlivosť o seba ako faktor vyrovnávania sa s negatívnymi dôsledkami vykonávania pomáhajúcich profesií“. Jeho špecifikum spočíva v tom, že bol vytvorený na základe konkrétnych výskumných výstupov samotných autorov programu a projektu. V prvej kapitole autorky ponúkajú pohľad na prípravu intervenčného programu so zdôvodnením teoretických východísk, metód a špecifík účastníkov programu. Poskytujú tiež prehľad výskumov efektivity rozmanitých intervenčných programov zacielených na redukciu negatívnych dôsledkov pomáhania a posilňovanie starostlivosti o seba a iných pozitívnych efektov vykonávania pomáhajúcej profesie. Ďalšie kapitoly sú zamerané na podrobnú analýzu a zhodnotenie efektivity intervenčného programu Ako sa o seba starám? a jeho komparáciu s efektivitou iných programov, ktoré boli rôzne zamerané, určené rôznym populáciám pomáhajúcich profesionálov, ako aj mali odlišné teoretické a praktické zacielenie a základy. Väčšina týchto výskumov preukázala iba v ojedinelých prípadoch pozitívne zmeny, a to vďaka rôznym metodologickým nedostatkom, často spojených s praktickou aplikáciou.

To, čo diferencuje intervenčný program prezentovaný v tejto monografii, je účasť pomáhajúcich profesionálov aktívne vykonávajúcich prax v sociálnej oblasti, oproti väčšine intervenčných programov zostavených a overovaných pre študentov týchto profesií. Študentská populácia, ako ľahšie prístupná pre výskumníkov, umožňuje kvalitnejšiu metodológiu, zahrnúť väčší počet účastníkov, ako aj experimentálnu manipuláciu a vyváženie skupín. V prípade účastníkov overovania programu Ako sa o seba starám? išlo o praktikov, ktorí sú zapojení v každodennom pracovnom procese a tréning absolvovali vo svojom pracovnom voľne, čo kládlo vysoké nároky na zladenie ich pracovných, osobných úloh. Domnievame sa, že tie dôsledky, ktoré sme v rámci overovania efektivity prezentovaného intervenčného programu odhalili, nie vždy boli jasne matematicky uchopiteľné, ale boli zrejmé z individuálnych spätných väzieb.

Predkladáme text tejto monografie odbornej verejnosti, s cieľom poukázať na prínosy, limity intervenčného programu, ako aj inšpirovať výskumníkov a praktikov k ďalšej práci v tejto oblasti.

The monograph is dealing with the issue of homosexuality and homophobia in the context of social work and it is divided into five chapters, which are devoted to individual fields of the tackled issue. The first chapter is describing the phenomenon of homosexuality in the society; the focus is put on human sexuality and sexual orientation. The following chapter is clarifying the formation of homosexual identity in connection to coming out and it describes its frequently utilized models. The third chapter is devoted to the concepts of heteronormativity and heterosexism in the social context. Furthermore, the chapter is dealing with the formation of attitudes towards this issue from the point of view of religion and masculinity. Another chapter is describing homophobia as the result of heteronormativity, stereotypes and prejudice. In the last chapter, the authors are introducing selected social work theories dealing with the homosexual minority, the approaches to LGBT+ community and suggestions towards elimination of homophobia within the social work environment.

This peer-reviewed collection of papers is a publication output of the scientific colloquium named The Magic of Sounds, which was organized by the Department of Slovak Studies, Slavonic Philologies and Communication at the Faculty of Arts of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, and by the Košice Branch of the Slovak Linguistic Society at the Ľudovít Štúr Linguistic Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of birth of Associate Professor PhDr. Jozef Liška, PhD., the founder of the Slovak logopaedics. Participants focused their papers on the analysis of the linguistic and speech therapy work of J. Liška, his contribution to Slovak dialectology and orthoepy, presented him as an Anglicist, and they also dealt with the audio aspect of children's speech, exact methods of disturbances and low voice quality measuring, or machine speech processing. An interpretative paper of the documentary They Will Speak Well, a socially important piece of film work, which was made in 1958 under the supervision of J. Liška, is also included in the proceedings.

The textbook is addressed to up-and-coming media staffers and teachers of Slovak language, a target group which will be a prospective model for common users in their language behaviour. It poses an educational project that points out to the correlation of standard language and language (primarily orthoepical) norm.

The publication is structured in the way that after the explanation of the given orthoepical problem on the segmenal level (in correspondence with the valid orthoepical norm anchored in Rules of Slovak Orthoepy by Á. Kráľ, 2005, 2009), there follow exercises with an aim to know and practically apply presented norms as standardised acoustic forms. However, considering the natural (not artificial) language and the real (not absolutely ideal) norm, under the exercises we give sociolinguistically oriented topics and tasks for discussion (sometimes also with references to specialist sources) with an aim to draw the listeners’ attention to the current state of live, phonically realised language, or to possible solutions that functionally correspond to the interests and needs of lanugage community and are not in contradiction with internal language rules at the same time. An explanation of particular orthopeic phenomena on the segmental level is closed not only with exercices and topics for discussion but also with a short test in which students can individually verify their special competences in connection to speech practise.

Proceedings of Extended Abstracts from Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference

Conference proceedings comprise extended abstracts from contributions that were presented during the conference Negative consequences of performing helping professions II – Psychological, social and health aspects of performing helping professions, which was held on 12th of June 2019 in Košice. The conference was organized as one of the outputs of the research project APVV 14-0921 Self-care as a factor of coping with the negative consequences of the practicizing the helping professions. Abstracts present either original research by the authors or summaries of the authors' findings in their long-term research activities focused on helping professions. One of the ambitions of the conference was to create a space for dialogue between academics and professionals working in helping professions. The interdisciplinary character of the conference has brought new ideas and perception of this issue, which has also been reflected in the rich response during the discussions. Professionals from field of psychology, social work, occupational medicine and behavioral medicine participated actively or passively in the conference. Thus, the enriching aspect of the resulting proceedings is the interconnection of applied and theoretical studies related to wide range of helping professions.

Social work with a group, along with social work with individuals, social work with the community and social work with society, is one of the basic methods used in the field of social work, but also in other helping professions. The work of a social worker requires knowledge of these methods but also of the techniques through which these methods are implemented and fulfilled. Understanding and acquiring individual methods for the needs of social practice requires the theoretical mastery of those institutes that are the basis of the method and the interrelationships between these institutes. Therefore, the author proceeded to elaborate a university textbook in which she focuses on one of the basic methods of social work, namely social work with a group.

The university textbook is designed for university students who are focused on social work studies, but also psychology, ethics and other disciplines using the method of working with a group, as it aims to present some facts about social groups and behaviour in them.

The author offers an insight into social work with the group from its historical foundations to today's latest knowledge of this method in accordance with the latest research of work with the group.

Téma rodovej rovnosti v univerzitnom a akademickom prostredí je v slovenskom kontexte stále vo veľmi ambivalentnej pozícii – často prehliadaná a marginalizovaná, inštrumentalizovaná a vnímaná ako cudzorodý prvok či formálna nevyhnutnosť, no snáď najčastejšie je vystavená mnohým nedorozumeniam a dezinterpretáciám. Zámerom predkladanej publikácie a jej autorského kolektívu je prispieť k formovaniu a kultivácii prostredia, v ktorom je možné vecne diskutovať o otázkach rodových vzťahov v akademickom prostredí, rozvíjať skúmanie z rodovej perspektívy, a najmä uskutočňovať politiku rodovej rovnosti ako jeden z nástrojov demokratizácie akademickej sféry a univerzity. Zborník vznikol v rámci realizácie projektu VVGS-2018-749 Tvorba Plánu pre rodovú rovnosť na UPJŠ v Košiciach a predstavuje rôzne kontexty a perspektívy, z ktorých možno o otázkach rodovej rovnosti na univerzite uvažovať. Jednotlivé autorky a autor sa vo svojich textoch sústreďujú na tému rodovej rovnosti z filozofického, filozoficko-právneho a právneho pohľadu. Záverečný text predstavuje zistenia kvalitatívneho skúmania, ktoré bolo súčasťou uvedeného projektu, ich interpretáciu a závery z perspektívy ďalšieho uskutočňovania politiky rodovej rovnosti na Univerzite Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach. Publikáciu chápeme ako pozvanie k diskusii, kritickému premýšľaniu a skúmaniu, a tým k tvorbe univerzity, akou môžeme byť.

The presented monographic processing of the issues of groups, as a basic phenomenon of our social life, draws a lot of current knowledge from realized researches, their empirical results and practical work with the group, which offers a comprehensive view of the social group. Social group looks both as a natural part of human life and it is analyzed and studied, so that knowledge of the social group can be rewarded. This has been transferred to artificially created groups to help individuals through group work. At the same time, the monograph also considers the method of social work with a group as one of the methods used in various helping professions.

The integration of immigrants into society is currently of interest to many professionals and to the general public. Immigration is a consequence of a variety of factors, mainly due to political, social, economic or security conditions in the countries of origin. Immigration is subsequently linked to the process of integrating immigrants into the host country. The integration of immigrants into society or integration, as this process is called in the monograph, is a complex phenomenon that extends to many spheres of everyday life for the citizens of the receiving country, and at the same time is often difficult for immigrants. Many governmental and non-governmental organizations are involved in the process of social integration of immigrants, who develop different strategies and mechanisms to streamline the outcome of this process.

In relation to immigrants, the Slovak Republic is bound to provide social and legal protection and therefore it is necessary to deal with the issue of social services, which could potentially significantly contribute to their social integration into Slovak society. From the legislative point of view, however, these services are unified and do not take into account the differences of immigrants resulting from their culture, religion, social, ethical or other characteristics. That is why the monograph focuses on social integration of immigrants in Slovakia in the context of provided social services.

Od 1. januára 1969 nadobúdali účinnosť Ústavný zákon o postavení národností v Československej socialistickej republike (ČSSR) i Ústavný zákon o federácii. Ústavný zákon o postavení národností predstavoval aspoň formálne veľký posun v právnej úprave postavenia menšín. Tento zákon však mal byť základom pre ďalšiu právnu úpravu. Deklarovalo sa, že budú nasledovať ďalšie kroky a rokovania o prijatí vykonávacích noriem a že budú na federálnej i národných úrovniach prijaté ďalšie zákony. V Československu však nebol nikdy vydaný žiadny ďalší zákon alebo vládne nariadenie týkajúce sa ústavného zákona o postavení národností v ČSSR. V období normalizácie1 sa otázky týkajúce sa ďalšej legislatívy týkajúcej sa národnostných menšín neotvárali, ale v krátkom období po prijatí ústavného zákona v roku 1968 do konca roka 1969 sa niektoré inštitúcie pokúšali takéto zákonné normy pripraviť a presadiť. Jednou z nich bola aj Rada vlády SSR pre národnosti (ďalej Rada alebo Rada vlády pre národnosti). Monografia prináša pohľad na problematiku rozpracovania ďalších zákonných noriem vyplývajúcich z ústavného zákona o postavení národností v Slovenskej socialistickej republike Radou vlády SSR pre národnosti, ktorá bola jednou z inštitúcií, ktoré sa na Slovensku vytvorili po vzniku československej federácie a zaoberali sa národnostnou problematikou

Vpráci zameranej na rozpracovanie ďalších zákonných noriem vyplývajúcich z ústavného zákona o postavení národností v ČSSR bolo potrebné venovať sa aj predchádzajúcemu vývoju, preto sa prvá časť monografie zaoberá postavením menšín v Československu pred prijatím ústavného zákona, aktivitám národností predchádzajúcim prijatiu ústavného zákona o postavení národností a samotnému prijatiu zákona. V ďalších častiach sa už monografia venuje inštitucionálnym zmenám v SSR po vzniku federácie, vzniku Rady vlády SSR pre národnosti a jednotlivým krokom Rady a jej odborných orgánov pri príprave návrhov zákonov o postavení národností v Slovenskej socialistickej republike.
Motiváciou pre napísanie tejto monografie bola skutočnosť, že na Slovensku sa doteraz tejto problematike venovala pozornosť len v niekoľkých štúdiách, ktoré sa zaoberali maďarskou menšinou a obdobím pražskej jari alebo maďarskou menšinou v období normalizácie.

The thing is that social problems have been around for a long time, they just changed their shape, old forms of social risks were replaced by the new ones that need to be explored and analyzed in order to be able to perform measures and remove the causes of social risks of the 21st century. The monograph focuses on the issue of loneliness among substance-addicted people in the context of abstinence prospects and re/lapse prevention. In the monograph these phenomena, several theories were integrated and applied in the context of the ecosystem meta-framework of social work and practical contexts. The ecosystem meta-theory serves as a meta-construct with the ability to encompass the complexity of social phenomena as well as that of human beings within the structure of their living and social environment, formal and informal networks, and close intimate relationships. In this monograph are presented research sample consisted of 235 respondents – hospitalised addicts undergoing urgent treatment, abstaining A-club members as well as members of psychotherapy and self-help groups. The research showed that abstainers were statistically less lonely than the hospitalised respondents. Quantitative data of research are complemented by qualitative data collected in four case studies; two of them focused on two long-term abstainers from alcohol and drugs, while the other two case studies dealt with two respondents in post-hoc treatment undergoing the resocialization process. The research also showed that respondents who broke abstinence felt lonelier than their successfully abstaining counterparts. The results were supported also by the fact that a statistically significant inversely proportional relationship was identified between the duration of abstinence and loneliness rate. Gender differences were found between the hospitalised addicts in all loneliness dimensions. Naturally, the combined research was limited in certain aspects, mainly in terms of the size and proportional distribution of the research sample and its subgroups, test battery extent, and general nature of the population studied. Triangulation among quantitative and qualitative with the theoretical starting points confirmed the existence of a relationship among loneliness, addiction, and prospect of abstinence.

University textbook Selected Chapters from Managerial Ethics presents selected topics from the current issue of Managerial Ethics. The historical context of Managerial Ethics and its formation on the background of business ethics, up to the form of independent inter and trans discipline, is presented at the introduction. Being one of the subdisciplines of applied ethics, it is inherently normative and interdisciplinary. It represents an overlapping institutional aspect - management ethics and individual aspect - manager ethics. The issue of social responsibility in economics and business, or the moral profile of a manager as a key player of this applied ethics is mentioned. Institutionalization and implementation of ethics in corporate culture and the tools that are used in this so complex and interdisciplinary process are also a necessary step. Established ethical management systems, which complement the modularity of institutionalization, are also important. The main question is, of course, ethics in decision-making and management of people, as it is where ethical dilemmas and tensions are born. Also, the issue of ethics in leadership, as another qualitative and developmental stage in Managerial Ethics, is the contribution. The attached moral dilemmas are meant to reflect, self-test moral intelligence and to be resolved.

Reflection of technics  is about as old as philosophy. In the presented monograph the author reflects technology and technology as a medium of everyday life. Every technical change is reflected in countless levels of our lives: environmental, economic, political, cultural and personal. The moral-philosophical reflection of technics and  technology aims to understand the complex relationships and effects of technology on the environment, society, culture and our existence. Knowledge (whose scientific knowledge is a special type) is part of the social and technical domains. If we perceive social and technical domains as separate, we deny their functioning as an integral part of our existence. Speaking of 'new ecology of technology and technology'  the term ecology symbolizes the new existing disorder and 'cross-border' in the field of technology and technology reflection as a result of their revolutionary and far-reaching changes, and social change is unpredictable - all the more because technics and technology is the medium of everyday life and determines the future of the human species.
