The proceedings Consumers and Traders Online: Legal and Economic Challenges of Digital Markets present a collection of scientific studies addressing contemporary issues of digital market functioning within the European Union. The contributions analyse legal, economic and technological dimensions of digital services, particularly in the context of the VEGA project 1/0431/23 focused on the conflict of interests between consumers and traders in the delivery of digital content and services. The studies highlight the dynamic growth of the digital economy, bringing new regulatory challenges, issues of data protection and enforcement of consumer rights. The authors examine topics such as geographical indications in the digital environment, the use of artificial intelligence in public enforcement, fintech regulation, liability for damages, and the impacts of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The proceedings also expose increasing fragmentation of responsibility across digital actors and emphasise the need for a harmonised EU regulatory framework. The publication Digiform: A Supporting Application to Digilib – User Guide, Part B presents the Digiform web application as a tool that extends the functionality of the Digilib digital library of formative assessment tools. The application enables the creation and editing of formative assessment tool templates, which can be adapted to the specificities of individual subjects and levels of education and subsequently imported into the Digilib environment for use in the teaching process. The guide provides a detailed description of how to work with the Digiform application, from creating new templates, editing and personalising them, through to their export and implementation in the main Digilib application. Attention is also given to the interconnection with the Digilib Images application, which enables the integration of visual elements into the assessment tools, thereby enhancing their didactic effectiveness and visual appeal. The guide is intended for teachers at all levels of education, student teachers, school administrators, and digital coordinators who are interested in the systematic use of the Digilib digital library to support the implementation of formative assessment, enhance the quality of the educational process, and foster the development of students’ self-assessment and reflective competences.

The conference proceedings FORMATIVE 2025 – Implementing Formative Assessment in Schools Together constitute the output of an online conference organised by the Institute of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in cooperation with the National Institute of Education and Youth in Bratislava, within the framework of the KEGA project No. 001UPJŠ-4/2023. These proceedings present current knowledge, experience, and examples of good practice in implementing formative assessment in primary, secondary, and university teaching, with an emphasis on the use of digital tools. The papers address the foundations of formative assessment in the context of curricular changes and the ongoing educational reform, as well as specific didactic procedures for its implementation in the teaching of science and social science subjects, including mathematics, Slovak language, and foreign languages. Particular attention is paid to the development of professional teaching competences, formative assessment strategies, providing targeted feedback, and promoting students’ active participation in the assessment process. In the context of the deteriorating state of adolescent mental health, it is extremely important to optimize the existing mental health care system in Slovakia. There is still little comprehensive and coherent information about the functioning of the system and the process of providing assistance within professional care, its shortcomings or suggestions for improvement. This is not possible without a deep knowledge of the perspective and experiences of adolescents with mental problems themselves. The aim of this publication is therefore to present adolescents' views on the professional assistance provided as a result of experienced mental problems within the existing care system in Slovakia.

The findings from a qualitative study that focused on the views of young people themselves are presented. The chapters of the monograph capture their views on the perception of mental health problems in society, their experiences with identifying emerging problems and seeking professional help, and their experiences with the care process itself and its forms. They also capture their overall experience with both care and care providers, as well as with leaving care and its impacts in various areas. Finally, a view is presented of possible recommendations that could improve the mental health care provided from the adolescents' perspective.

This publication is intended primarily for all professionals working with adolescents with mental health problems in all branches of care, teachers and other educational staff who are in contact with them every day at school, and last but not least, all competent policy makers who care about the mental health of adolescents and have the power to improve the care provided to them.

Kniha obsahuje také souhrn léčebných postupů a doporučení publikovaných v české odborné literatuře v posledních 15-20 letech, včetně doporučených postupů, které vydala ČGPS ČLS JEP. Všechny informace byly
postupně aktualizovány tak, jak se jednotlivé medicínské poznatky k daným tématům vyvíjely. Léčba je rozepsána zcela konkrétně na jednotlivá léčiva, včetně dávkování a doporučované délky léčby pro jednotlivá onemocnění. Seznam léčiv je aktualizován podle databáze SÚKL k 15. 5. 2021, takže jsou
uváděny léky, které jsou v této době dostupné na českém trhu.

The book presents a global and national picture of mortality, emphasizes the importance of prevention and screening, and introduces the basic principles of risk assessment. Special attention is paid to risk factors and modifiers that can significantly change a patient's prognosis. For a better understanding of the issue, the reader will also find chapters devoted to clinical conditions, an overview of scoring systems, risk categories, and finally practical examples from clinical practice that link theory with everyday medical reality. Každý človek má potreby – od tých najzákladnejších, ako je jedlo a bezpečie, až po potrebu lásky, uznania a sebarealizácie, teda rozvoja svojho potenciálu. Tieto potreby boli zoradené do tzv. Maslowovej pyramídy, kde na seba nadväzujú podľa toho, ako veľmi sú pre náš život nevyhnutné. Ak máme uspokojené základné potreby, začneme túžiť po tých vyšších – napríklad po blízkych vzťahoch, spolupatričnosti, rešpekte a možnosti rozvíjať sa.

Ľudia so zdravotným znevýhodnením majú rovnaké potreby ako ktokoľvek iný. Rozdiel je často len v tom, že ich naplnenie je pre nich náročnejšie – nie preto, že by ich menej chceli, ale preto, že im v tom často bránia vonkajšie prekážky. Chýbajúca podpora, bariéry v prostredí, nedostatok informácií či predsudky spoločnosti spôsobujú, že sa na ich potreby zabúda. Niektoré potreby sa potom stávajú „neviditeľné“ – nie preto, že by neexistovali, ale preto, že ich okolie nevníma.

Sociálne potreby, ako je láska, priateľské vzťahy, pocit spolupatričnosti, možnosť komunikovať a byť súčasťou komunity, sú pre ľudí kľúčové. Ak nie sú naplnené, vznikajú pocity samoty, smútku, bezmocnosti či frustrácie. Z výskumov vieme, že osamelosť alebo pocit odmietnutia môže bolieť rovnako ako fyzická bolesť. O to dôležitejšie je vnímať, že každý z nás túži po tom istom – po prijatí, rešpekte, priateľstve, láske.

Zdravotní gramotnosti je na našem knižním trhu věnován poměrně malý prostor. Hlavní autorka a spoluautorky předkládané publikace řeší projekt KEGA se zaměřením na implementaci prvků podpory zdravotní gramotnosti dospělé populace do vzdělávání v oboru ošetřovatelství. Jedním z výstupů uvedeného projektu je i předkládaná monografie.

Publikace přináší charakteristiku zdravotní gramotnosti, poukazuje na její význam, model, dimenze i determinanty. Zabývá se také nástroji k posuzování zdravotní gramotnosti a specifickými aspekty tohoto typu gramotnosti v různých cílových skupinách.

V kontextu pozice sestry v podpoře zdravotní gramotnosti je rozpracována edukační činnost, komunikace, osobní příklad a vliv prostředí, jakož i využití informačně-komunikačních technologií v podpoře zdravotní gramotnosti. Součástí kapitoly je i zdravotní gramotnost jako součást ošetřovatelského vzdělávání.
 
Teoretická východiska jsou doplněna o kapitolu, ve které jsou prezentovány výsledky výzkumu zaměřeného na úroveň zdravotní gramotnosti u pacientů s arteriální hypertenzí.

Důležitou součástí knihy jsou kapitoly věnované lidskému genomu a genomové nestabilitě, poškození a opravám DNA.
Rozsáhlý blok kapitol je věnován různým oblastem genetiky – zahrnuje mendelovskou i multifaktoriální dědičnost, genovou vazbu, genetiku populací, epigenetiku a imunogenetiku. Nechybí ani úvod do technik buněčné a molekulární biologie a témata s přímým klinickým přesahem, jako je nádorová biologie, genová terapie, lidský mikrobiom, kmenové buňky a tkáňové inženýrství. Závěr učebnice tvoří vhled do ontogeneze člověka a základních principů evoluční biologie. Učebnice je určena především pregraduálním studentům všeobecného i zubního lékařství, ale může být užitečná také v postgraduálním vzdělávání a pro lékaře různých odborností. The proceedings of student papers from the V. Annual Student Symposium represent a collection of analytical and comparative studies in the fields of tax policy, public finance, and financial law, reflecting the current challenges of the Slovak and European economies. The authors (students) focus on a wide range of topics – from considerations regarding the reintroduction of inheritance tax in Slovakia, through issues of tax evasion and abuse of law in taxation, to measures aimed at public finance consolidation. The authors (students) in their contributions also analyse practical aspects of tax administration, such as tax enforcement proceedings, case law concerning the burden of proof, and the financing of civic associations through tax assignation mechanisms. Particular attention is paid to modern challenges of tax policy, including the taxation of digital giants, financial transaction tax, and the regulation of crypto-asset service provision in the V4 countries. The proceedings also highlight the connection between tax instruments, the financing of cultural institutions, and the broader social context of public expenditures. The publication thus offers a comprehensive overview of current trends and perspectives in the field of taxation and public finance within the conditions of the Slovak Republic and the European Union.

The monograph offers a comprehensive perspective on the theoretical, methodological, and empirical dimensions of participatory visual research within the field of social work. It is grounded in the understanding that social work plays a crucial role in amplifying the voices of vulnerable groups and promoting social justice, with particular attention paid to persons with disabilities who frequently encounter limited opportunities for participation as well as persistent social, communicative, and environmental barriers. The author analyses the concept of participation in alignment with the principle of “Nothing about us without us” and presents the PhotoVoice method as an interdisciplinary tool that integrates participatory action research, critical pedagogy, feminist epistemologies, and documentary photography. The method is understood not only as a research technique but also as a form of visual advocacy, enabling participants to articulate their experiences, needs, and perspectives in ways accessible to both professional audiences and the wider public. The monograph reflects on the development of PhotoVoice in international scholarship and highlights its potential to transcend traditional academic boundaries toward participatory and transformative practice in social work. The empirical section comprises three projects conducted by the author in the Slovak context, focusing on diverse groups of persons with disabilities and their families, who face specific social needs and everyday barriers. The findings demonstrate the potential of PhotoVoice to strengthen participation through accessible and meaningful visual tools. The monograph also addresses methodological, ethical, and terminological considerations and adopts an inclusive understanding of disability consistent with contemporary approaches in social work.

This scientific volume has been published as an output of the VEGA grant project No. 1/0474/24 Audit of Slovak Electoral and Referendum Legislation. Thematically, it focuses on the issue of the legal regulation of election campaigns and a critical analysis of the experience of its application in electoral practice. On this basis, the authors also formulate proposals for improving the current legal framework of election campaigns.

The proceedings include contributions presented at the scientific conference of the same name held in May 2025. The volume contains papers not only from domestic but also from foreign authors, who present the legal regulation of election campaigns in their respective home countries. Contributions from academics are complemented and enriched by those of representatives of non-governmental organizations engaged in election and campaign monitoring, as well as by contributions from authors working in public authorities responsible for the administration of elections and for overseeing the constitutionality and legality of elections.

Před 10 lety vyšla první domácí monografie zabývající se problematikou vzácných onemocnění. Od té doby se nejenom výrazně zvýšilo povědomí o této skupině velmi rozdílných chorob, které v České republice postihují až jeden milion obyvatel, ale též nastal výrazný posun v možnostech diagnostiky a účinnosti léčby některých onemocnění. Významný vývoj se odehrál taktéž v organizaci péče o tyto nemocné. Ustanovení Evropských referenčních sítí pro vzácná onemocnění propojujících expertní pracoviště po celé EU je zásadním zlomem vedoucím ke zlepšení péče o nemocné s těmito raritními diagnózami. Česká centra napříč republikou jsou zapojena do 17 evropských sítí a spolupracují s předními evropskými experty.
Cílem knihy je poskytnout informace o vývoji, který zásadním způsobem ovlivnil diagnostiku a léčbu vybraných vzácných onemocnění. Proměnou prošly také pacientské organizace, které se výrazně podílejí na formování politiky v oblasti vzácných onemocnění, a to jak na české, tak i evropské úrovni. Zcela unikátní v evropském prostoru je role pacientů v českém regulačním procesu pro léky pro vzácná onemocnění. Nicméně do budoucna vystává řada kritických bodů v oblasti vzácných onemocnění. Od možností léčby raritních chorob mimo území České republiky přes otázky dostupnosti nákladné terapie a jejího financování až po etické otázky týkající se léčby i diagnostiky. Významným aktérem na poli vzácných onemocnění je farmaceutický průmysl a jeho interakce s akademickou komunitou a potřebami pacientů, bez níž by vývoj léků pro vzácná onemocnění nebyl možný.  
Publikace by měla usnadnit základní orientaci v této problematice specialistům různých oborů i lékařům prvního kontaktu.

Both clinical and radiation oncology are the most developing parts of medicine. Regardless of the physician´s specialization, all of them will have to face subjects with cancer in their daily clinical practice. It includes not only the treatment itself, but also obtaining the diagnosis, but also differential diagnosis and treatment of different adverse events caused by oncological treatment. This publication provides basic data about tumor characteristics necessary for oncologists to determine the final stage and choose the best treatment strategy. In addition, explains the basic oncological terms, forms of therapy, and provides information about treatment timing, combination strategies and expected outcomes. It explains main endpoints of clinical trials performed in oncology to understand them.  In the second part this publication describes mechanism of action of all treatment modalities used in clinical oncology, provides information about potential side effects and basic knowledge how to deal with them. The last chapter is focused on palliative care, how to relieve symptoms of dying patient and how to deal with cancer-related pain.
