Učebnica tvorí základ pre povinné štúdium latinského jazyka na všetkých typoch zdravotníckych škôl v prvom ročníku. Učivo je usporiadané tak, aby študenti zvládli väčšinu látky pod vedením učiteľa v škole. Každá lekcia tvorí organický celok alebo časť celku. Jednotlivé lekcie na seba navzájom nadväzujú tematicky i slovnou zásobou a vnútorne sú logicky spojené jednoduchými metodickými zásadami.

Základom učebnice je slovná zásoba. Termíny sú uvedené samostatne a vo vzájomných odborných väzbách. V jednoduchých vetách sa vysvetľujú príslušné gramatické javy, a to štruktúrne aj obsahovo. Zameranie i praktické využitie určujú frekvenciu gramatických kategórií (nie sú zahrnuté príklady so všetkými osobami či pádmi). Časovým možnostiam a úrovni náročnosti je prispôsobená aj slovná zásoba. Gramatické poznámky vysvetľujú gramatické javy nevyhnutné pre štúdium a používanie názvoslovia. Veľká pozornosť sa preto venuje tvoreniu slov, skloňovaniu podstatných a prídavných mien, postaveniu a tvaru prívlastkov, ale tiež precvičovaniu. Tabuľky a prehľady majú prispieť k rýchlej orientácii pri opakovaní a zapamätaní učiva.

A person's health is influenced by a combination of genetics, different life circumstances, and personal decisions. The publication provides an overview of the latest research and expert recommendations related to healthy eating, sleep hygiene, physical activity, mental health improvement, building resilience and healthy relationships, and also includes important advice on how to increase motivation for health behaviour change.

The script deals with the issue of harmful alcohol use and its consequences on individuals’ cognitive abilities. The first part is devoted to the diagnosis of dependence syndrome and the assessment of risky drinking according to internationally recognized classifications (ICD, DSM). The following chapters explain the concept of cognition and its main components. Attention is also given to changes in cognitive functions during long-term alcohol abuse. The reader is introduced to the anatomical changes in the brain caused by alcohol. Damage to white matter and disorders of neurotransmission are described. Special focus is placed on diagnoses associated with alcohol use, such as Korsakoff syndrome, Wernicke’s encephalopathy, demyelinating disorders, and hepatic encephalopathy. Attention is also paid to the possibilities of diagnosing cognitive dysfunction. General screening tests such as MMSE or MoCA are presented. More specific tools, such as PHES or BEARNI, are described in greater detail. The script also points out the possibilities of pharmacological treatment. Non-pharmacological approaches, including cognitive remediation therapy and computer-based training, are also discussed. The conclusion is devoted to modern neuromodulation methods, in particular transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation. This university textbook is primarily intended for students of medicine, psychology, and related health sciences.

Dnes sú to už celé generácie odopierania príležitostí pre napĺňanie potenciálu a storočia diskriminácie, ktoré oberajú deti v marginalizovaných komunitách o detstvo tak ako ho poznáme my ostatní, ktorí sme mali viac „šťastia“. Tak, ako sa generácie ľudí v marginalizovaných komunitách točia v kruhu chudoby, z ktorého niet ľahkej cesty, tak sa aj my točíme v bludnom kruhu hľadania vinníkov a odovzdávania si predsudkov a stereotypov založených na mylných predpokladoch, ktoré sú tak zakorenené a samozrejmé, že mnohých ľudí ani nenapadne o nich pochybovať, spochybňovať ich logiku, či sa snažiť ich vyvracať. Spoločnosť na základe vlastných ideálov s ľahkosťou súdi matky či otcov, že nie sú dosť dobrí. Omnoho ťažšia cesta je však snažiť sa pochopiť, čo im v tom bráni. Povedať, že za stratené detstvo detí v marginalizovaných komunitách môžu rodičia, je príliš zjednodušené a nezohľadňuje to omnoho širší kontext a súvislosti. A práve vplyv tohoto kontextu na raný vývin a hľadanie súvislostí je naším cieľom. Nielen preto, že si uvedomujeme potrebu búrať stereotypy a meniť spoločenský diskurz, no najmä preto, aby sme vedeli priniesť dôkazy, na základe ktorých bude možné tvoriť politiky, smerovať intervencie a pomôcť tak ďalším generáciám detí dosiahnuť na príležitosti, ktoré im umožnia naplniť svoj plný potenciál.

Traumatológia – úrazová chirurgia je rýchlo vyvýjajúci sa odbor a v súčasnosti disponuje veľkým množstvom informácií, ktoré sa neustále rozrastajú a doplňujú o nové. Účelom tejto časti knižnej pubikácie je poskytnúť študentom a mladým začínajúcim lekárom stručný prehľad o diagnostike a liečbe úrazov hornej končatiny. Úlohou bolo zostaviť jasný a stručný text doplnený o bohatú obrazovú prílohu, aby si čitateľ vedel predstaviť charakter  a  následnú liečbu dôsledkov úrazu.

Našou snahou je študenta a mladého lekára obohatiť o teoretické vedomosti, ktoré mu v praxi pomôžu správne diagnostikovať a odborne ošetriť najčastejšie úrazy hornej končatiny u dospelého pacienta.

“Pathology Part 1 (winter semester) - Practical lessons for students of dental medicine” represents the first half of the university textbook designed for the pregradual study of pathology. The textbook complements the lectures of pathology and serves as a source of information for students of dental medicine, that are preparing for the practical as well as the final oral examination.

In this part of the “Pathology” series, fifty-four selected histopathological slides are presented. Each selected slide is provided with general information in relation to etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, as well as with corresponding morphological features, including the gross appearance and the most important histopathological characteristics. The textbook summarizes the basic concepts of general pathology that are necessary to master the broad field of systemic pathology in the second semester.

The theme of the presented university textbook is a summary of selected basic knowledge of hygiene - environmental medicine. The script includes significant areas of environmental medicine as a science: the basics of environmental medicine, health and prevention issues of environmental health and risk assessment of potential exposure, the issue of air pollution, indoor pollution, problems of drinking water, the action of soil and solid waste, further issue of housing, nutrition and the impact of working conditions on health. Nutritional factors textbooks dealing with issues of rational nutrition, describe the individual components of nutrition, but also address the issue of food hygiene and the possibilities of foodborne infections. One chapter is also devoted to the impact of environmental conditions on health of children and youth. 

University textbook as a manuscript consists from 199 manuscript pages, is divided into 12 basic chapters, contains 36 citations in the literature.  In the Preface, the issue of categorization of diseases and define the basic concepts of health, prevention. Other chapters deal with the above selected chapters hygiene.

This university textbook comes as a basic university textbook for students of general  medicine in the English language, for students of bachelor's and master's studies  of medical schools - mainly bachelor's and master' program of  "Public health". Students of medicine and dentistry can also use these textbooks as an educational tool in the study of other subjects in the teaching of public health.
