Jak vypadají a fungují naše nervové buňky? Z jakých částí se skládá mozek, mícha a periferní nervy? Souvisí náš mozek s tím, kým jsme a jací jsme? Jaké máme v současnosti možnosti vyšetření? Lze nějak ovlivnit naše nervové buňky a celý nervový systém? Jak vnímáme smyslové informace, kudy se dostávají do mozku a kam v něm putují? Pokud si kladete tyto a podobné otázky (nebo vás zajímají), kniha je určena právě vám.

Publikace pojednává o stavbě, funkci, vývoji, možnostech vyšetření i ovlivnění nervového systému. Jeho integrální součást – mozek – má přímý vztah k psychické, vztahové i spirituální stránce a dotýká se tak všech rovin lidského bytí. 

Text vychází ze soudobých poznatků lékařské vědy, ale nezabíhá do medicínských podrobností a detailů, které nejsou pro cílovou skupinu čtenářů nutné. Klade důraz na propojení nervového systému (zejména mozku) s psychikou člověka a jeho životem. Zahrnuta je rovněž oblast smyslů a smyslového vnímání. Text publikace je bohatě ilustrován a doplněn fotografiemi a snímky z lékařských vyšetření.

Předložené poznatky soudobých neurověd jsou bezesporu nedílnou a zároveň smysluplnou součástí studia psychologie, pedagogiky, sociální práce a dalších humanitních (nelékařských) oborů. Jelikož je text psán srozumitelnou a názornou formou, může uspokojit i zájemce o daná studia nebo čtenáře z řad širší veřejnosti.

Methodological guide for teachers for classroom lessons and civics Teaching law experientially? Is it even possible? The answers to these questions are provided by a methodological guide that uniquely links experiential learning methods with legal content. This methodological guide is a set of techniques based on the use of interactive and participatory learning methods, focusing on selected human rights and value-oriented topics, which also have the potential to develop other key competences of students, such as their communication skills, their ability to learn and educate independently, their ability to think critically, their ability to work with and analyse texts, their ability to discuss and express their opinions, and their ability to listen to each other. The methodological guide consists of a set of training activities - techniques, while each technique contains a precise description of the procedure for conducting a specific activity, the expected duration of the activity, aids, discussion topics and also a short pedagogical and legal commentary, precisely "tailored" to the specific legal topic. The legal topics are chosen to be generally applicable to both classroom and civics lessons, to raise questions about the functioning of rules and the need to respect them, mutual respect and tolerance, and to encourage reflection on the limits of individual rights and on responsibility in exercising one's rights. The techniques use training methods such as group work, brainstorming, role-playing, dealing with model situations, as well as a simulated court process. The methodological guide is intended for classroom teachers in the implementation of classroom lessons, and also for the purposes of the subject of civics, as well as for students of pedagogy at the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

The main goal of the monograph "Moving Towards Cognitive Adaptation Studies: Adaptation as Play" was to orient current research in adaptation studies towards the empirically responsible cognitive branch of non-radical constructivism.

This intention results from the rapid progressive differentiation of adaptation studies research, which has mainly manifested itself in this area in the last two decades. With the model of adaptation as play in a cognitive-scientific perspective, author provides the possibility of predicting the nature (also in a broader sense) of the experience of adaptation. Since the form of this experience significantly shapes the products of the adaptation process into their final form, the model of adaptation as play can be applied even in the interpretation of individual adaptations. In the monograph, the author synthesized the model of adaptation as play based on the knowledge of various disciplines. In the field of cognitive sciences, he saw help from the starting points of philosophy, linguistics, informatics, psychology, anthropology, biology and neuroscience – especially affective neuroscience, which also deals with the emotional dimension of the play.

In the intersection with the essential interdisciplinary components of adaptation research, he also used the knowledge of classical and cognitive variations of literary science, film science (also theatrology) and media studies to a large extent. Consistent with other similar results of cognitive sciences, it turns out that even seemingly serious adaptations, like in many aspects of our culture, have a ludic base.
