Predkladané vysokoškolské učebné texty tvoria základný učebný text, ktorý nemá ambíciu podať komplexný obraz pracovného práva. Z uvedeného dôvodu, pri tvorbe týchto učebných textov sa môže zdať, že niektoré kapitoly sú príliš stručné a iné neobvykle rozsiahle, vzhľadom na zameranie výučby predmetu Pracovnoprávne vzťahy vo verejnej správe v študijnom odbore Verejná politika a verejná správa. Zámerom autorky textu je uľahčiť pochopenie základných atribútov pracovného práva prostredníctvom identifikácie ťažiskových právnych inštitútov a právne významných väzieb medzi nimi s ohľadom na verejnoprávne zameranie.

Recenzovaný zborník príspevkov z III. ročníka vedeckej konferencie doktorandov s medzinárodnou účasťou, ktorá sa uskutočnila dňa 15. 02. 2018 v priestoroch Fakulty verejnej správy Univerzity Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach, Popradská 66, 040 11 Košice

Dňa 15. februára 2018 sa v priestoroch Fakulty verejnej správy Univerzity P. J. Šafárika v Košiciach konal v poradí II. ročník vedeckej konferencie doktorandov na tému: „Teória a prax verejnej správy“. Prvý krát malo uvedené vedecké podujatie medzinárodný rozmer, keďže sa na ňom zúčastnili doktorandi z partnerských vysokých škôl (fakúlt) z Českej republiky a Poľskej republiky, ktorí doplnili účastníkov 6 slovenských fakúlt.
Konferencia, ako tradične, prebiehala po krátkom spoločnom otvorení, na ktorom sa účastníkom prihovorila dekanka fakulty doc. JUDr. Mária Hencovská, CSc., v troch sekciách – politologickej, právnej a sociálno-ekonomickej. Každý z prednášajúcich prezentoval počas vystúpenia doterajšie výsledky svojej vedeckej práce v rozsahu zodpovedajúcom názvu a obsahu jeho príspevku. Podujatie malo vedecko-diskusný charakter, keďže po každom vystúpení, resp. skupine vystúpení podobného obsahového zamerania, nasledovala diskusia moderovaná jedným z odborných garantov konferencie.
Vedecká konferencia mala veľmi dobrú odbornú úroveň, potvrdila primeranú – a hlavne narastajúcu – vedeckú erudovanosť účastníkov, a treba len veriť, že jej obsah a získané nové poznatky využijú doktorandi pri tvorbe svojich dizertačných prác. Poďakovanie patrí všetkým vystupujúcim doktorandom, odborným garantom konferencie, ale aj tým, ktorí toto vedecké podujatie organizačne zabezpečili.

The content of the textbook primarily covers general theoretical knowledge in the field of taxation in terms of their historical creation and characteristics in the scope of the legal and economic framework of tax system in general, as well as that currently applied in the Slovak Republic.

The textbook also includes pictures and graphs (listed in the appendix), which interactively complement the text part, as well as a set of questions in (in the context of the scope of particular chapters), whose task is to contribute to the fulfilment of didactic goals of the textbook.

The dynamically evolving contemporary society creates expectations and demands among citizens for public administration to be efficient, reliable, open, professional, and fast. New theories of knowledge, in connection with constant changes, must also include practical application and reflection of these characteristics in the public administration system in practice. For this reason, it is important to pay attention to new approaches from both theoretical and practical perspectives to the application of modern public administration in the conditions of the V4 countries.

Given that public administration is an interdisciplinary scientific discipline that utilizes knowledge from a wide range of scientific fields and thus enables a comprehensive approach to solving problems of modern public administration, the peer-reviewed proceedings of contributions from the doctoral students' scientific conference are divided into three sections: socio-economic, political science, and legal. Katedra ekonomiky a riadenia verejnej správy, Fakulty verejnej správy, Univerzity P. J. Šafárika zorganizovala dňa 19. mája 2017 medzinárodnú vedeckú konferenciu "Aktuálne otázky trvalo udržateľného rozvoja miest a obcí". Zborník príspevkov obsahuje výsledky vedeckovýskumnej činnosti autorov jednotlivých príspevkov, ktoré boli prezentované na konferencii. Zborník prináša aktuálne pohľady na široké spektrum problémov, s ktorými sa stretáva územná samospráva nielen na Slovensku, ale aj v zahraničí. Komunikácia je významnou a neoddeliteľnou súčasťou ľudského bytia. Dôležitú rolu zohráva aj v jednotlivých organizáciách výrobného a nevýrobného charakteru. Bez komunikácie by nebolo možné tieto organizácie riadiť a dosahovať stanovené ciele. Cieľom skrípt bolo spracovať problematiku komunikácie a aplikovať ju na organizácie verejnej správy. Skriptá začínajú rozpracovaním problematiky informácií, ktoré sú nevyhnutnou súčasťou každého komunikačného procesu. Obsah ďalších kapitol je zameraný na ciele a úlohy komunikácie v organizácii, na jednotlivé druhy komunikácie, na bariéry, ktoré sa môžu v komunikácii vyskytovať. Sú tu naznačené stratégie na zlepšenie komunikačnej účinnosti v organizácii a opísané špecifické komunikačné stratégie, ktoré sa v jednotlivých organizáciách pravidelne vyskytujú. Dôraz je kladený aj na komunikačné zručnosti manažérov, bez ktorých by nedokázali organizáciu efektívne riadiť a viesť svojich podriadených k dosahovaniu cieľov organizácie. Na efektívnosť komunikácie vplýva aj atmosféra, v ktorej komunikácia prebieha a získavanie potrebných informácií pomocou rôznych manažérskych informačných systémov, preto posledná časť skrípt je venovaná tejto problematike. Skriptá obsahujú 13 kapitol. Každá kapitola začína uvedením do problematiky a končí celkových zhrnutím obsahu kapitoly. Za každou kapitolou sa nachádzajú praktické cvičenia, ktoré môžu pomôcť študentom upevniť si obsah učiva a lepšie pochopiť jeho podstatu.

The second revised and extended edition of University textbook Organizational Behavior is the work of an international team of authors. University teachers of two Slovak universities and two Czech universities are the authors of this book. Problem areas of organizational behavior and its processing comprehensively was the intention of the authors. University textbook is complemented by 10 chapters, other chapters are significantly revised. University textbook is thematically divided into five parts. The first part treats the issue of organizational behavior as a discipline. Organizational behavior is theoretically defined, there is indicated the subject matter of the discipline, relationship with other sciences, historical and scientific foundations of organizational behavior. There are also presented knowledge about formal organizations and bureaucracy. Final of the first part is dedicated to social science research and social audit in organizations. The second part is called Individual aspects of organizational behavior and there are included themes as personality, work and its role in human life, job satisfaction, work motivation and loyalty of employees. This part is complemented by the issue of personality, competency and power of manager and career issues. Interpersonal interaction and group processes in an organization is the name of the third part of the book. It includes the chapters as working group, team and team roles, leadership and its impact on human personality, communication, performance management, friendships and loneliness in the organization. This section was complemented by the issue of interculturar communication in the international organizational context, conflicts in the workplace and workplace misbehavior. Fourth, complemented part is called Resources and means of ensuring employees and there are included themes such as external and internal mobility of workers, personal marketing, and unemployed as a potential source of workforce and talent management. The fifth part is called The organization as a culture and organizational dynamics. Authors included topics such as organizational culture, social responsibility of organizations and added the themes ethics on workplace, change management and radical change – reengineering. University textbook presents current theoretical knowledge and also the results of relevant research. Contents of chapters are complemented by practical examples of organizations. There are included questions for reflection and tasks at the end of each chapter. Tasks that help students and professional public apply the theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems. Predložená publikácia ponúka prierez problematikou účtovníctva a svojim obsahom je orientovaná na vedenie účtovníctva v rozpočtových organizáciách zriadených obcou a vyšším územným celkom. V úvode poukazuje na základné princípy vedenia účtovníctva a potrebu harmonizácie. Následne sa zameriava na špecifiká financovania v samosprávnych rozpočtových organizáciách a ich účtovné vyjadrenie. Ďalšie časti sú venované jednotlivým účtovým triedam, kde sa vymedzujú základné pojmy a vysvetľujú zápisy vybraných účtovných prípadov. Poslednú časť tvorí účtovná uzávierka, ktorá vymedzuje činnosti spojené s uzatváraním účtovného obdobia a poukazuje na proces zostavenia účtovnej závierky. Rozpočtové organizácie patria k subjektom verejnej správy, ktoré zostavujú iba individuálnu účtovnú závierku, ktorá ale vstupuje do konsolidovanej účtovnej závierky ich zriaďovateľa. Odvíjajúc sa od toho sú záverečné podkapitoly venované aj stručnému vysvetleniu podstaty konsolidácie, potreby auditu a spôsobu zverejňovania údajov z účtovných závierok.

The current situation in the world education system, which declares the need to educate students for knowledge society, for improving the graduate employability is behind the motivation of authors to address competencies and key competencies for the knowledge society. The authors present theoretical and empirical investigations based on the application of scientific methods of competency assessment and the use of contemporary scientific paradigms. The starting point is the concept of competencies in the context of current approaches of scientific psychology, which resonates in the official documents of the European Union and has been elaborated and enriched by the authors. The monograph focuses on a selected set of competencies, namely: competence to act as a self-regulated person, self-development, decision-making competencies, social and metacognitive competencies in the context of motivation. Knowledge about nature, the structure of competencies are presented, as well as their relations with personal and environmental variables. The effort of the authors is also aimed at making available knowledge about the possibilities of assessing these competencies using current methods. Authors communicate the results of the creation and verification of competency assessment methods. The implementation of the research results presented in the monograph is perspective in the education and counseling of the target group of university students.

The publication is focused on discrete random processes, primarily on Markov chains, which have wide application in the field of economics and finance.

The textbook is divided into five chapters, the first of which serves as an introduction to random processes and provides definition, properties and classification of random processes in general. The second chapter discusses Markov chains with discrete time, including valuation of transitions between states and their optimal management. The third chapter focuses on special Markov chains with continuous time and emphasizes construction and solution to the system of Kolmogorov differential equations, which describe the dynamics of the process development. The last two chapters illustrate applications of Markov chains using examples of queuing system modeling and renewal theory.

Besides the explanation of basic terms, definitions and theorems with proofs, this textbook also provides number of solved examples to illustrate the discussed theory. Problem assignments are placed at the end of each chapter, so that readers can test their understanding of the content as they progress through the book. Solutions to all the problems and the list of references are provided at the end of the publication.

This textbook is primarily intented for students majoring in Economics and Financial Mathematics at the Faculty of Science of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, and it covers content of the course “Random Proceses 1“ thought there. It might however serve also students from other schools in similar progams or professionals interested in this topic.

University Exercise Book Organizational Behavior adds content as University Textbook with the same name and completes the overall view of the behavior of people in organizations with respect to the classical approaches and new trends on a subject.
