Kniha obsahuje také souhrn léčebných postupů a doporučení publikovaných v české odborné literatuře v posledních 15-20 letech, včetně doporučených postupů, které vydala ČGPS ČLS JEP. Všechny informace byly
postupně aktualizovány tak, jak se jednotlivé medicínské poznatky k daným tématům vyvíjely. Léčba je rozepsána zcela konkrétně na jednotlivá léčiva, včetně dávkování a doporučované délky léčby pro jednotlivá onemocnění. Seznam léčiv je aktualizován podle databáze SÚKL k 15. 5. 2021, takže jsou
uváděny léky, které jsou v této době dostupné na českém trhu.

Research Into Correlations Between Deformations of Political Awareness and the Increase of Political Extremism Among Secondary School Students in the Košice Self-governing Region and the Prešov.

Self-governing Region The issue of political extremism has a relatively long research period, and it should be emphasised that, especially in the recent period, it has received increased attention in the political science community not just in Slovakia but also abroad. Given the specifics of this anti-democratic form of political discourse, which has not only explicit forms, but also highly sophisticated manifestations against democracy (extremism of the centre, or centrist extremism), it is also addressed by experts of other humanities and social disciplines: history, psychology, anthropology, sociology, etc.

The common interest of this professional community is both to analyse different forms of extremist discourses and narratives, to search for national specificities of extremism that are anchored in their historical, social and cultural contexts, but at the same time to reveal transnational extremist influences within a globalizing world and to propose evidence-based strategies to counter extremist discourses.

Psychology is becoming increasingly important in people's lives. It was determined that a study book on psychology for medical students was required. Presented study book Psychology in Medicine gives students a fundamental insight into patients´ behaviour in general, and demonstrates the role of psychology in relieving health concerns in particular. It includes topics of medical psychology and clinical psychology that are applied in health care. The chapters address the basic principles of human behaviour, communication between patients and physicians, personality psychology, psychodiagnostic techniques, psychotherapy treatment, abnormal psychology, dealing with stressful events and physical illnesses. The monograph Maša Haľamová in the triad Dar – červený mak – Smrť tvoju žijem was created as part of the project APVV-19-0244 (Methodological Approaches in Literary Research with an Impact on the Media Environment) in collaboration between Ivica Hajdučeková and Iveta Bónová.

In two parts – Personal History and (Re)interpretation of Maša Haľamová's Poetry, and Phonetic-Rhythmic Embodiment of Maša Haľamová's Poetry – it presents the results of archival research (reconstruction of life events, notes on poetic inspiration, consensus in the opinions of literary critics of the 20th and 21st centuries), (re)interpretations of three poetic collections focusing on the spiritual dimension and the process of spiritualization, and an in-depth analysis of the phonetic-rhythmic qualities of verse structure.

In conclusion, the authors suggest that the Slovak poet Maša Haľamová can be considered a representative of spiritual poetry, which in the Slovak interwar literature follows a specific type of confessional (Protestant) tradition, and at the level of phonetic embodiment, her sound-rhythmic potential acts in the name of subtlety of expression.

History of ethics represents a search for basic principle, which would enable a distinction between moral and immoral, good and bad, right and wrong. The main problem lies in motives, methods and consequences of human conduct. The integrity of medical profession puts emphasis on life-long study and practice according to the professional competence, and last but not least on ethical principles and rules of medical ethics.
Medical ethics, as a part of bioethics, is currently taking on a huge importance in everyday clinical practice and must face many serious ethical issues regarding the whole system of health care. On general level the decision-making in medical practice is quite easy, based on the requirement to always act in the patient's best interest. However, it is often difficult to know exactly what is best for the patient, in a certain situation, for this particular patient. Also with each progress in medicine and its globalization, the more aspects of human lives are being affected.

Biomedical research, and the new treatment and diagnostic methods it provides are viewed differently in each country, therefore various cultural, religious, social and legal aspects must be considered in their assessment, as well as the basic principles of medical ethics. Worldwide effort on unifying ethical regulations on certain aspects of health care led to the establishment of many legally recognized documents the doctors must be familiar with.

Teaching ethics to students of medical school aims to educate the future doctors towards ethical decision-making, behaviour and professional conduct according to the basic principles of medical ethics.
This textbook provides the basic information on medical ethics for students of medical faculties and serves as a practical introduction to the most common ethical problems of health care provision for their future professional practise.

Theories of motivation and theories of behavioral intentions and their effectiveness are popular in migration research. On the other hand, the Health Belief Model and its adaptation in the research of emigration intentions bring a relatively new and perspective view on this topic.

According to the results presented in this publication, the factors that attract students to emigration (pull factors) are language skills and career opportunities abroad, the desire for change and new experiences, perceived feasibility of emigration, and self-efficacy.

Kniha se zabývá recipročním vztahem mezi diabetem a širokou škálou poruch žláz s vnitřní sekrecí. Diabetes mellitus je samozřejmě také onemocněním žlázy s vnitřní sekrecí, v Česku však byl historicky obvykle řešen izolovaně od ostatních endokrinopatií samostatnou odborností. Nejen se změnou atestačního systému (atestace z diabetologie a endokrinologie), ale hlavně s významným nárůstem incidence diabetu a dalších endokrinopatií roste potřeba komplexního pohledu na reciproční vztah mezi diabetem a ostatními poruchami žláz s vnitřní sekrecí. Celá řada hormonů ovlivňuje působení inzulinu a inzulin ovlivňuje funkci mnohých hormonálních systémů.
Jednotlivé kapitoly jsou členěny podle endokrinních žláz (hypothalamus/hypofýza, štítná žláza, příštítná tělíska, nadledviny, gonády, endokrinní systém GIT, kosti). Úvod každé kapitoly obsahuje patofyziologický exkurz (jednoduché vysvětlení příslušné hormonální funkce/systému), další část kapitoly je věnována reciprocitě vztahu diabetu (obou základních typů, případně dalších typů, kde je problematika relevantní) a příslušné endokrinopatie, velký důraz je kladen na klinický význam vztahu (např. smysl screeningu diabetu u poruch funkce nadledvin s uvedením klinicko-laboratorních identifikátorů, specifické gonadální poruchy u diabetu, vliv gonadálních poruch na průběh diabetu ad.) Pozornost je věnována také specifikům léčby při současném výskytu diabetu a příslušné endokrinopatie a vzájemnému vlivu endokrinologické léčby na diabetes a antidiabetické léčby na příslušnou endokrinopatii.
Kniha je určena odborné veřejnosti, především pak pro postgraduální studium (internisté, diabetologové, endokrinologové).
