Pri hodnotení informačného veku sa ťažko uhýba streľbe fráz. Moderné technológie, internet, smartfóny, komunikačná technológia, či sociálne siete zmenili rytmus života na nepoznanie a svojim dosahom prekvapili aj samotných tvorcov. Možno takéto strohé hodnotenie znie až priveľmi povedome, snáď ako mnohokrát vyslovená fráza, ale je vskutku pravdivé. Rýchlo, obratom, hneď. ASAP. Heslá dnešnej doby. Pracovný život nevynímajúc. Namiesto uľahčenia práce a možnosti zosúladenia pracovného a rodinného života, čo je stále nenaplneným snom modelu flexikurity, moderné technológie prepletajú voľný čas s tým pracovným a nedokážu ich od seba oddeliť. Zamestnávateľ prostredníctvom emailu kladie požiadavky na neustálu online zapojenosť, z jeho pohľadu odpoveď možno zaberie iba pár minút, ale pripravený máme byť takmer vždy. Výsledkom je nezdravý, nadmerný, ba neustály stres. Stres sa stal takým fenoménom nového pracovného sveta, že mladí uchádzači o prácu sa vzájomne predbiehajú v tom, že práve oni vedia pracovať pod stresom, bez obáv zvládajú stresové situácie, dokonca majú stres radi, vyhľadávajú ho a túžia v stresovom prostredí pracovať. Nuž, nevedia, nezvládajú a netúžia ... ak, iba dočasne.

Nové stresové faktory sú predmetom skúmania nielen prírodných vied, najmä medicíny, ale aj humanitných vedných odborov, vrátane psychológie a práva. Autor tohto predhovoru s potešením konštatuje, že viacerí odborníci z týchto tieto zdanlivo vzdialených odborov sa stretli na spoločnej konferencii pod gesciou grantovej úlohy APVV-16-0002 Duševné zdravie na pracovisku a posudzovanie zdravotnej spôsobilosti zamestnanca a vzájomne si vymieňali poznatky a myšlienky. Vzájomná interdisciplinárna interakcia sa stáva základom pre nové poňatie problematiky a inšpiratívne metódy skúmania.

Zborník predstavuje výsledky prednesov prezentovaných na spoločnej konferencii s názvom Starostlivosť o zdravie zamestnancov, ktorá sa konala v dňoch 6. až 8. júna 2018 v Hornom Smokovci, vo Vysokých Tatrách. Veríme, že jeho obsah zaujme a podnieti i vás, čitateľov.

A peer-reviewed collection of contributions from the 4th year of the doctoral students' scientific conference, which took place on February 13, 2019, at the Faculty of Public Administration of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Popradská 66, 040 11 Košice.

The content of the proceedings of the conference consist of contributions presented on scientific conference Theory and Practice of the Public Administration: The Scientific Conference for PhD. Students held by the Faculty of Public Administration University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Kosice on 13th of February 2019. The conference proceedings consist of 28 contributions, which are according to its content divided in to the politological, legal and social-economic section.

Participants aimed their contribution on the current professional topics, which are important for the current theory and practice of public administration. Authors in their conference papers also included a number of important observations, opinions, experiences and knowledge. All published contributions provides space for the deeper qualified discussion.

Over the past fifteen years, the course on ’Exactly Solvable Models in Statistical Physics’ has become an indispensable ground of the study programme ’Theoretical Physics’ at Faculty of Science of Pavol Jozef Šafarik University in Košice. At first, the course based on the first edition of this textbook was intended for undergraduate students only, however, I have later prepared follow-up course taught at a postgraduate level on demand of several ambitious students who wished to continue in studying this exciting research field.

It is already more than decade when our students enrolled in the study programme ’Theoretical Physics’ graduate from ’Introduction to Exactly Solvable Models in Statistical Physics’ at a master level and ’Exactly Solvable Models in Statistical Physics’ at a postgraduate level. Of course, it was necessary somehow to rearrange topics for the courses of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

More specifically, a few more challenging topics concerned with exact solutions of 2D Ising model (chapter 3) were moved to a more advanced course intended for the postgraduate students, while an introductory course intended for the undergraduate students was contrarily supplemented with a few new topics requiring the second edition of this textbook.

The second edition of this textbook thus contains a completely new chapter 4 devoted to the exact solution of the Ising model on the Bethe lattice using the method of exact recursion relations, while the chapter 5 was supplemented by exact results for ground state of a few frustrated Heisenberg spin models using the variational method. It is my hope that the next edition of this textbook will come soon and it will involve all topics specifically taught within the postgraduate course as well.

Skriptá Základné fyzikálne praktikum II. sú určené pre študentov Prírodovedeckej fakulty UPJŠ v Košiciach študujúcich na študijných programoch fyzika a medziodborových programoch v kombinácii s fyzikou. Obsahom skrípt sú úlohy z elektriny, magnetizmu a optiky. Podľa študijných programov sú zaradené do 3.semestra bakalárskeho štúdia, v ktorom by už študenti mali mať absolvovaný predmet všeobecná fyzika II. (elektrina a magnetizmus). Súčasťou každej úlohy sú základné poznatky venované javom, ktoré sú obsahom samotnej úlohy.

This publication captures the conference proceedings of the international scientific conference "20 years in the European Union in terms of law and the era of sustainability". The conference took place on 3^rd September 2024 at the Faculty of Law, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in hybrid form.

The first part of the conference proceedings includes contributions concerning EU law in proceedings before the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic with focus to current issues and challenges after 20 years of membership of the Slovak Republic in the EU, European law from the perspective of international constitutionalism in a green coat, the impact of the entry of the Baltic states into the European Union on the question of the nationality of natural persons, the single digital market in the context of the Slovak Republic, the impact of European Union law in the field of personal data protection on the territory of the Slovak Republic, the principle of environmental protection in economic competition and international jurisdiction for private law claims for compensation for damage caused to the environment.

The second part of the conference proceedings includes contributions concerning the process of enshrining human right to environment in international law and European law, the development of biodiversity protection in the EU, NATO´s role in climate change response to meet the sustainability and suing tort damages from the Dieselgate emissions scandal.

The aim of the translated publication NEW EUROPE: Back to the Future is to reflect on the challenges in the fields of international security, the fight against climate change, and environmental protection, and to highlight selected global phenomena.

The proceedings consist of 12 contributions in Slovak, English, and Czech. The authors primarily addressed selected current issues from the international environment in the context of deteriorating international relations and global security.

The topics of the contributions mainly include questions of international security (for example, in Germany or Hungary), environmental issues and the fight against the climate crisis. Furthermore, the proceedings include topics such as the European Parliament elections, selected narratives related to the war in Ukraine, migration to Europe and its security aspects, self-reflection of the European political system, and public space and public discourse. The proceedings also include a part of an upcoming utopian novel.

Cieľom učebných textov je poskytnúť študentom medicíny a príbuzných odborov   poznatky o základných imunologických metódach, ktoré sa využívajú v klinickej praxi. V učebných textoch sú zahrnuté metódy na vyšetrenie fagocytózy, komplementu, imunoglobulínov, autoprotilátok,  HLA molekúl a T lymfocytov.  Súčasťou textov sú aj  postupy pre izoláciu a stanovenie počtu vybraných  typov buniek imunitného systému. Kombinácia klasických  metód (rozetové testy, fluorescenčná mikroskopia) a moderných metód   (napríklad prietoková cytometria a  ELISPOT) umožňuje orientáciu v základných laboratórnych metódach imunológie.

Nowadays, in the modern 21st century, we have a much more complex society than the ancient one. It requires legal regulation of various types of purchase contracts, where although the basic feature remains, it needs to be specified further, and the simple sentence 'I sell, you buy' needs to be supplemented with conditions 'how, where, when, under what conditions?' This is the task of modern civil law. The current recodification of civil law has already taken place in some European countries, and it is currently underway in our country. Therefore, it is important to meet at conferences with colleagues from these countries and exchange knowledge, to discuss their experiences, avoid the bad, and accept or adjust the good according to our conditions.

This proceedings is the output publication from the conference held on September 26-27, 2014 in Košice. It was the second conference with the participation of the most prominent legal Romanists, legal historians, and civilists from home and abroad. The proceedings is the result of unique cooperation among experts from various fields of legal science. I believe that the published outputs will help to understand the institute of purchase contracts from all its aspects and will become an inspiration for both experts and laypeople.

The presented university textbook Classical and Sports Massage (2nd edition, expanded) is intended for students of the bachelor's degree program in Sports and Recreation. We focus in detail on classical and sports massage and other massage techniques most commonly used in sports and recreation. The learning texts provide extensive information on procedures, indications, and contraindications of massages, necessary for performing classical and sports massage in the sports field.

In the textbook, we describe the history of massage, general principles for masseurs in the sports field, basic strokes, and their transitional variants. Subsequently, we deal with the methodical procedure with illustrative images (own sources) for classical and sports massage of individual body parts. We address basic information on the application of massage in physical education, sports practice, and regeneration. We also add basic techniques for passive joint movements to the massage procedures.

Knowledge of the way of life of our ancestors confirms that in the formation and development of the body, during the whole phylogeny, has physical activity a dominant position. Researches have shown that even in childhood, movement is not only a tool of prevention, but often also a method of dealing with the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle. From different areas of social life are recorded, as a consequence of this this sedentary life, the vertebrogenic disorders related to hyperkinesia, hyperlordosis and scoliosis which are accompanied by pain and often mean the exclusion of a child from school physical education.

The monograph is a summary of the findings of muscle disbalance and a need to help children and teenagers to have influence to the quality on the correct body holding by preventive exercises that have been verified in practice. It serves as a teaching material to fulfill physical and sports education goals, which emphasize, among other things, the formation and consolidation of habits of proper body holding and compensatory and relaxation exercises.

The attention devoted to the issue of Chinese activity is highly relevant. Creating a positive reputation abroad is a legitimate tool of every state in its effort to generate influence. The People's Republic of China has been very successful in this regard since the beginning of the millennium, which has allowed it to start occupying positions in the international system that it legitimately claims based on its own history, size, and potential.

Examples from abroad also highlight the fact that Chinese foreign policy should not be accepted uncritically and deserves a cautious approach and thoughtful discussion. All of this must be done while respecting not only China's particularity but also taking into account the realities of the great power rivalry visible at the beginning of the 21st century.

In this context, one cannot abstract from a detailed look at Chinese soft power as one of the key tools for generating influence in the world. Understanding it is an essential prerequisite for a relevant evaluation of the practices and motivations of China's foreign policy, while it can also serve as a guideline in the effort to create an adequate approach toward this resurgent global great power.
