Organized by Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility (European XFEL) in Hamburg and the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, SFEL 2026 continues a long-standing tradition of educational events dedicated to advanced photon and neutron research infrastructures. SFEL 2026 brings together 115 participants from 13 countries, with a particular focus on students, doctoral candidates, and early-career researchers. Through lectures delivered by leading international experts, oral and poster presentations, hands-on training activities, and a satellite meeting devoted to the European Solar Telescope project, the school promotes knowledge transfer, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of new scientific partnerships. As the ninth event of the SFEL series, SFEL 2026 further strengthens the links between Slovak researchers and major European facilities, including European XFEL, ILL, ESRF, DESY, and emerging ESFRI infrastructures.

Collegial courts present a familiar paradox. They are composed of several judges, each endowed with an individual standpoint, professional responsibility, and legally protected independence; yet the judgment speaks with a single voice. A court, after all, decides in the singular even when it reasons in the plural. This book asks how such a plurality can become a judicial “we,” and whether the unity of the court is merely attributed by law or may also emerge from the practices through which judges deliberate together. The inquiry proceeds across three interconnected levels. It begins with legal ontology and judicial reasoning, examining how courts reconstruct events, identify legally relevant facts, and assign legal status under conditions of uncertainty. It then considers judicial independence, institutional constraints, voting, deliberation, and the elusive boundary between the aggregation of individual positions and the formation of a genuinely common standpoint. The theoretical analysis is complemented by an exploratory qualitative study conducted within the COIN project and based on nineteen semi-structured interviews with judges in Italy and Slovakia. The material reveals recurring tensions between unanimity and voting, procedure and judicial virtue, trust and passive delegation, formal office and local practices. It also draws attention to reporting judges, panel cultures, communicative styles, and time itself as a resource of deliberation. The book ultimately distinguishes between an attributed judicial “we,” constituted by law, and an emergent judicial “we,” formed (when it is formed) through disagreement, reciprocal reasoning, revision, and shared responsibility.

This teaching guide is intended for teachers and instructors who are introducing new readers to Dante’s Divine Comedy, in particular the first cantica, Inferno, offering support and a grounding in the cultural background of one of the most important works of European medieval literature. Rather than forming yet another academic contribution to the study of Dante and his work, the guide focuses on using a guided seminar reading method within study groups and fostering meaningful discussions about the central themes and issues of the Inferno. Under the guidance of a teacher, students are encouraged to engage actively with the motifs and moral universe of this classic literary work – a primary source that cannot be replaced by any retelling. The proposed interpretations draw on established scholarly commentaries to deepen the readers’ understanding of the text, and each lesson is accompanied by a selected bibliography. The guide includes thematic introductions presenting Dante Alighieri as both author and protagonist within the Divine Comedy. It also offers carefully selected questions designed to foster textual comprehension and stimulate discussion during seminar readings of selected cantos of the Inferno. In addition, the publication includes special lessons on associated literary and artistic works. The guide features a wealth of original illustrations and an extensive range of visual materials. The course thus builds upon the traditional practice of seminar-based readings of works by the great authors, an approach which continues to form part of the curriculum at many liberal arts colleges, by integrating innovative techniques into this established educational method.

Text přináší přehledné a čtivé kompendium dvou rozsáhlých teoretických oborů medicíny – anatomie a fyziologie –, aniž by příliš zabíhal do medicínských podrobností. Přibližuje oblast buněčné biologie, popisuje typy tkání v lidském těle a představuje základy celostního přístupu, který člověka chápe jako bio-psycho-sociálně-spirituální komplex, existující v určitém prostoru a čase. Nejobsáhlejší část knihy se věnuje jednotlivým orgánovým soustavám. This conference textbook is published as the output of the 13th annual Student Scientific Conference held in December 2025. The Student Scientific Conference is a selective course included in the curricula of the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (FF UPJŠ), which has been organized since 2011. Its primary objective is to provide a platform for Bachelor’s and Master’s students to present fragments of their primary research conducted during the preparation of their final theses. The aim of these proceedings is not only to publish these thematically diverse texts but also to demonstrate a commitment to above-standard pedagogical activities and to provide benefit to university studies. This is reflected, on the one hand, in the form of a published output and, on the other, in the motivation it provides for students to actively participate in the event. This year's volume contains twelve texts with a chronological scope ranging from Antiquity to 20th-century history. Thematically, it covers a broad spectrum, from political and economic to cultural history. A specific feature of this volume is the inclusion of four international papers by students from the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and Charles University in Prague. Their participation in the conference is the result of established cooperation based on the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), which took place in Košice from October 13 to October 17, 2025.

The publication provides a systematic overview of the core models of systemic therapy and its theoretical as well as practical foundations. The opening chapters of the textbook outline the historical development of psychotherapeutic approaches and the shift toward the systemic paradigm, which emphasizes the importance of relationships, context, and circularity in understanding psychological phenomena.

The core of the text focuses on the philosophical foundations of systemic therapy, particularly general systems theory, cybernetics, constructivism, and social constructionism, all of which have significantly shaped the understanding of reality, knowledge, and the therapeutic process. Subsequent chapters address biological and social foundations, including the concepts of autopoiesis, cognition, and communication, and their relevance to the functioning of social systems. The publication further elaborates on the practical implications of these theoretical frameworks, especially in relation to causality, language, and the construction of social reality. Slovak for Dentists is a textbook intended for international dental students preparing to communicate professionally in Slovak in a real dental environment. The second, expanded and revised edition is the result of several years of practical use and feedback from students. In terms of content and structure, the textbook focuses on developing all language skills, with particular emphasis on understanding spoken language and oral communication in dentist–patient interactions. Súčasne potreba vytvoriť učebnicu pre vysoké školy uvedeného typu bola motivovaná požiadavkami a značným záujmom pomerne veľkého počtu samotných študentov a absolventov o danú problematiku v súvislosti s nedostatkom podobnej  učebnice zameranej na potreby Fakulty verejnej správy, ktorá by zodpovedala stanovenému obsahu a rozsahu spracovania so zameraním sa na najpodstatnejšie problémové okruhy diplomacie v prepojení na oblasť verejnej správy.

Okrem zabezpečenia potrebnej učebnice pre vysoké školy, hlavný cieľ spočíva v snahe podať študentom a mladým vedeckým pracovníkom základnú orientáciu v danej problematike, a to tak v pojmovej oblasti, ako aj v teoretickej. V neposlednom rade  učebnica napĺňa ambíciu motivovať záujem k ďalšej tvorivej akademickej práce a v rozširovaní vedomostí z oblasti zahraničnej, bezpečnostnej a medzinárodnej politiky v prepojení na diplomaciou.
