Students studying biology as the single-subject or as a part of two-subject programs on various faculties of sciences are often encountered with the problem, how to limit the topics in the subject Human anatomy. This List of anatomical terms is aiming to help the non-medical students to get acquainted with the extensive anatomical nomenclature and to optimize the number of anatomical terms, which should be memorized, to preserve the sufficient capacity of the students for another knowledge of the field of systemic, comparative, developmental and functional anatomy. The emphasis on the arrangement of individual anatomical terms into the logical units supports the hierarchical view on the architecture of the human body. Despite the common opinion, anatomical nomenclature represents a framework, which is during the further study gradually enveloped with the knowledge of more or less related disciplines concerning with the human body and its biological processes. Moreover, besides this ambition, which exceeds the area of the human anatomy, this List of anatomical terms continues the long tradition with respect to the valid Latin and Slovak anatomical terminology.
Poslední díl celobarevné učebnice obsahuje anatomii kardiovaskulárního systému, centrálního nervstva, periferních mozkomíšních a vegetativních nervů, kůže a smyslových orgánů. Jsou v něm také připojeny poznámky topografické a poznámky praktické (užité) anatomie. Tento díl upravili a doplnili: prof. MUDr. Radomír Čihák, DrSc., prof. MUDr. Rastislav Druga, DrSc., a prof. MUDr. Miloš Grim, DrSc. Knihu ilustrovali: akademický malíř Ivan Helekal, Mgr. Jan Kacvinský a Stanislav Macháček. Publikace obsahuje 340 originálních barevných složených obrázků a fotografií. Trojdílný komplet anatomií hlavního autora prof. MUDr. Radomíra Čiháka, DrSc., je považován za jeden z vrcholů naší odborné literatury jak po stránce didaktické, tak po stránce ilustrační i z pohledu preciznosti a provedení.
Tento díl je na přání autorů i studentů rozdělen do tří samostatných svazků, což dává čtenáři více možností využití rozsáhlé publikace při výuce či v praxi.
Vynikající učebnice, které jsou již mnoho let žádány jak fakultami, tak klinickými pracovišti. Vzhledem k trvalému zájmu autoři dílo stále doplňují o nové poznatky v oboru. Komplet je považován za základní stavební kámen pro celoživotní studium jak v oblastech teoretických, tak v pre- i klinických oborech medicíny. Celá vícedílná didaktická publikace u nás dosud nebyla ve své odborné úrovni překonána a je pravidelně aktualizována podle dosavadních poznatků. Všechny díly jsou bohatě barevně ilustrovány originálními vyobrazeními v celkovém počtu 1400, která se často skládají z více kreseb.

Investigative methods are a source of knowledge about the state of the internal environment of an individual, the functionality of the various systems of the body, based on which it is possible to establish a conclusion on whether the individual is healthy or not.

Koncept učebnice vychází z důkladného zhodnocení dostupných středoškolských učebnic somatologie a latinského jazyka a z vlastní zkušenosti autorky s výukou těchto předmětů ve studijních oborech Praktická sestra a Zdravotnické lyceum. Učebnice si klade za cíl podat znalosti o stavbě a funkci lidského těla. Je tudíž vhodná jako základní učebnice pro spektrum žáků studijních oborů středních zdravotnických škol, tedy oborů Ošetřovatel, Praktická sestra, Zdravotnické lyceum, Nutriční asistent, Laboratorní asistent, Asistent zubního technika, Masér ve zdravotnictví, Masér sportovní a rekondiční, Ortoticko-protetický technik. Posloužit však na zdravotnických školách může i žákům sociálních oborů a studentům navazujících nelékařských zdravotnických oborů. Kapitoly jsou tvořeny jednotlivými orgánovými soustavami lidského těla, které v závěru doplňuje přehled latinských (příp. řeckých) anatomických výrazů a spojení, jejichž znalost je nedílnou součástí studia oborů zdravotnického zaměření. Za účelem zvýšení atraktivity učiva jsou u jednotlivých soustav a orgánů uváděny také zajímavosti.

Ku napísaniu učebnice viedli autorov dve podstatné skutočnosti: Jednak obrovský rozvoj nových materiálov a terapeutických postupov, jednak fakt, že od vydania poslednej učebnice (autor Doc. MUDr. Ján Slávik, CSc.) v roku 1992 uplynulo už viac ako 20 rokov. Vo všeobecnej časti knihy sú uvedené kapitoly, charakterizujúce zubné lekárstvo a jeho miesto v kontexte medicíny, morfológia a histológia zubov a tvrdých zubných tkanív a základné fyziologické poznatky o ústnej dutine. Špeciálna časť publikácie pozostáva z kapitol kariológia, endodoncia, parodontológia a detské zubné lekárstvo. Ako ukazujú prvé skúsenosti, o knihu majú záujem nielen poslucháči, ale aj praktickí stomatológovia, ktorí nemajú čas na štúdium rozsiahlejších monografií. Publikácia tak môže spĺňať aj funkciu repetitória terapeutického zubného lekárstva.

The e-Slovak textbook for dentists in practice - case studies is intended for foreign students of dentistry. It is primarily intended for students of the Slovak language as a foreign language, but the knowledge of the grammatical and lexical basics of the Slovak language at the A1, A2 level is needed.
The textbook consists of eight lessons, which are focused on listening comprehension (audio recordings), vocabulary expansion, systematisation of grammar and development of speech skills (case studies). The two lessons consist of repetitive, concluding exercises. The primary goal of the textbook is to connect language training with professional dental practice.

Two days´conference was opened by Dean of the Faculty of Arts of P. J. Šafárik University, Prof. PhDr. Ján Gbúr, CSc.,in the presence of Prof. PhDr. Vladimír Leško, CSc., Head of The Department of Philosophy and History of Philosophy, and of foreign guests and students of the University.
The presented monographic processing of the issues of groups, as a basic phenomenon of our social life, draws a lot of current knowledge from realized researches, their empirical results and practical work with the group, which offers a comprehensive view of the social group. Social group looks both as a natural part of human life and it is analyzed and studied, so that knowledge of the social group can be rewarded. This has been transferred to artificially created groups to help individuals through group work. At the same time, the monograph also considers the method of social work with a group as one of the methods used in various helping professions.

The book is primary designed for the first-year students of the study programme “English Language for European Institutions and Economy” and its subject “Comparative Phonetics and Phonology”. Following the structure of this subject, the textbook is divided into eleven chapters whose content provides the reader with the essential theoretical information about the given issue from the sound subsystems of the English and the Slovak languages. The structure of each chapter is as follows: (1) theoretical explanation of the topic, (2) Suggestions for further reading recommending additional sources that develop the topic, (3) exercises whose aim is to evaluate students’ theoretical knowledge of the theme presented in the particular chapter, as well as its practical application in the process of communication. Considering the content of the book, it can be also used a study material for the students of all philological study programmes whose content encompasses the sound system of the English and/or the Slovak language.
The discovery of radioactivity at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries stimulated the rapid development of nuclear sciences. At the interface between nuclear physics and chemistry, disciplines such as radiochemistry, radiation chemistry and nuclear chemistry were formed. The aim of the Nuclear Chemistry course which is taught at the PF UPJŠ is to provide basic knowledge, with an emphasis on the general value of the subject. It is important to make available the basics of various methods, techniques and their specifics in the application of nuclear phenomena in chemistry and related fields. Emphasis is also placed on the use of correct terminology, knowledge of the context of relationships and basic principles, supplemented by illustrative concrete cases. The choice of material is rather difficult, but we count on additional monographs and textbooks to fill in the gaps of these teaching texts.
Kniha se zabývá nejen historií, technikou, zásadami a taktikou poradenství, ale věnuje se také základním otázkám vztahu. Vymezuje problémy partnerského soužití a zaměřuje se na možný manželský konflikt a jeho řešení v podmínkách velmi omezeného časového prostoru. Orientuje se na poradenské řešení mimořádných, ale pro většinu krizových situací typických událostí. Praktické manželské poradenství je dle bohatých zkušeností autorů o emoční podpoře, vstřícném vyslechnutí spojeném s předáním rad a zkušeností směřujících ke zkvalitnění partnerského vztahu.

V současné době hraje koloskopie nezastupitelnou roli v diagnostice a sledování neoplazií tlustého střeva a stala se i metodou volby v léčbě časných neoplastických lézí. Má také klíčové postavení v diagnostice jiných kolorektálních chorob. Indikace ke koloskopii lze rozdělit na preventivní u pacientů v průměrném riziku kolorektálního karcinomu, dispenzární při zvýšeném riziku a vyšetření u symptomatických pacientů s podezřením na onemocnění tlustého střeva. Publikace je společným dílem předních českých odborníků z řad gastroenterologů, dětských gastroenterologů, chirurgů a radiologů. Kniha se jako zatím jediná na českém trhu komplexně a aktuálně zabývá všemi aspekty koloskopického vyšetření. Je určena pro všechny endoskopisty, gastroenterology, endoskopické sestry, chirurgy, onkology, radiology i lékaře a sestry jiných odborností se zájmem o koloskopii a choroby tlustého střeva. Jejím hlavním úkolem je stát se spolehlivým návodem k provedení kvalitní a bezpečné diagnostické a terapeutické koloskopie. Celobarevná publikace postgraduálního charakteru je bohatě obrazově dokumentována (kniha obsahuje 226 obrázků a 79 tabulek).

Metodická príručka vznikla ako praktický výstup projektu APVV-19-0284 „Faktory výberu a dosahovania dlhodobých cieľov u mladých ľudí v období prechodu do dospelosti“ Katedry psychológie Filozofickej fakulty Univerzity Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach. Obdobie prechodu do dospelosti je charakteristické mnohými zmenami, nestabilitou a neistotou, ktoré sú úzko spojené aj so snahou o dosiahnutie cieľov z rôznych oblastí života – či už ide o vzdelávanie, rodinu/vzťahy, kariéru alebo osobný rast. V rámci projektu bola preto pozornosť venovaná bližšiemu preskúmaniu procesu dosahovania týchto cieľov u ľudí v období nastupujúcej dospelosti. Výskumné zistenia pomohli doplniť doposiaľ chýbajúce informácie o špecifikách tejto problematiky, ako aj poskytnúť účelný základ pre potenciálnu aplikáciu intervenčných aktivít.
