Přijmout rozchod, prožít emoce, zpracovat je, odrazit se ode dna a jít v životě dál. A také se poučit z chyb, zamyslet se nad tím, co vztah člověku dal i vzal.

V knize najdete dostatek podnětů k zamyšlení nejen nad sebou a rozchodem, ale rovněž i nad novými začátky. Inspirujete se pomocí doporučení, jak neztrácet víru, naději a důvěru v budoucnost. I po rozchodu totiž může být vše v pořádku. A dokonce může být váš život daleko lepší než dřív.

Teaching belongs among the oldest professions in human history. Despite all efforts to innovate education by substituting the teacher using the products of the rapidly developing information and communication technologies in modern teaching concepts, the teacher continues to play a decisive role in the education process. If it is to be controlled, it cannot work without a teacher.

To be a teacher means to accept the responsibility for the education of the next generation: to prepare young people for their life and future profession. To be a good teacher means to possess certain characteristics related to professionalism, thinking, expectations and leadership. It means to master different teaching and learning strategies as well as motivation methods, endure the stress and pressure of the school environment, use basic social and communication skills actively and efficiently, follow the progress of their pupils to help them improve, and also to be capable of optimally resolving emerging educational situations and issues (Rovňanová, 2015).

It suggests that the teacher must be a “master” in their profession, i. e. they must never stop learning, improving themselves, creatively working with the educational content and innovating the process of education. Innovations can come along as early as during the initial stages of one’s teaching career. Practical professional training for future teachers largely focuses on the development of subject-related and didactic skills, however, self-reflection is paid little attention. Self-reflective techniques and methods may be incorporated in the practical professional training for students in model situations in the faculty environment as well as in the actual school environments during their teaching practice.

Based on the analysis of self-reflection competences in future teachers, opinions of the mentor teachers and their recommendations and the set of pupil-oriented and educational process-oriented competences, a protocol for using self-reflection methods has been created. More precisely, it is a self-reflection teaching diary. It is an innovative method of self-reflection competence development in teaching students in their practical specialized preparation, particularly the self-reflective observation practice and conversation.

The Self-Reflection Teaching Diary is the outcome of the VVGS “Innovation in self-reflection competence development teaching methods in the practical specialized training of future teachers” grant project solving. It is an innovative and creative text-based tool not only for teaching students but also for university teachers specializing in their practical preparation as well as mentor teachers in primary and secondary schools. Its English version can be used by teaching students on their study stays abroad. It is also a transparent and unified tool in the practical preparation of future teachers aiming at the development of their self-reflection competences.

The scientific monograph is the output of the Care4Youth project, which aimed to map the current system of care for adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems (EBP) in Slovakia. It captures what the care system is and what its possible shortcomings are from the perspective of all those affected (adolescents with problems, their parents, care providers and other institutions involved).

It also looks at the trajectory of adolescents with EBP in the care system, i.e. when and how adolescents with problems enter and leave the care system, or pass from one type of care to another and what impact different trajectories have on them.

Last but not least, the aim of the monograph was to provide expert information on what are the risk and protective factors that will affect their success in the care system or, conversely, that threaten them. All this in order to support the proposal for improvements in the care system that would benefit all stakeholders.

University textbook Selected Chapters from Managerial Ethics presents selected topics from the current issue of Managerial Ethics. The historical context of Managerial Ethics and its formation on the background of business ethics, up to the form of independent inter and trans discipline, is presented at the introduction. Being one of the subdisciplines of applied ethics, it is inherently normative and interdisciplinary. It represents an overlapping institutional aspect - management ethics and individual aspect - manager ethics. The issue of social responsibility in economics and business, or the moral profile of a manager as a key player of this applied ethics is mentioned. Institutionalization and implementation of ethics in corporate culture and the tools that are used in this so complex and interdisciplinary process are also a necessary step. Established ethical management systems, which complement the modularity of institutionalization, are also important. The main question is, of course, ethics in decision-making and management of people, as it is where ethical dilemmas and tensions are born. Also, the issue of ethics in leadership, as another qualitative and developmental stage in Managerial Ethics, is the contribution. The attached moral dilemmas are meant to reflect, self-test moral intelligence and to be resolved.

Zborník príspevkov z medzinárodnej vedeckej konferencie 16. október 2014, Košice

V polovici októbra 2014 sa uskutočnil druhý ročník konferencie Ľudský kapitál a spoločnosť, organizovaný Katedrou sociálnych štúdií Fakulty verejnej správy Univerzity P. J. Šafárika v Košiciach v spolupráci s ďalšou katedrou fakulty, a to Katedrou ekonomiky a riadenia verejnej správy. Dnes máte pred sebou zborník zahŕňajúci príspevky prednesené účastníkmi tejto konferencie. Pri jeho príprave sa editorky museli vyrovnať z rôznorodosťou profilácie účastníkov konferencie, premietajúcou sa do prístupu autorov pri spracovaní problematiky, ktorej sa venovali a následne príspevky nechať posúdiť recenzentmi z rôznych odborov. Jednotlivé príspevky sa venujú tradičným témam, ale aj novším a novým témam, reflektujúc aktuálne problémy a otázky týkajúce sa ľudského kapitálu, organizačného správania a predovšetkým, verejnej správy.

Na konferencii sa stretli výskumníci venujúci sa manažmentu, psychológii, politológii, sociálnej práci, sociológii, antropológii, jazykovede, ale aj ľudia, ktorí sa nezaraďujú iba k jednej vednej disciplíne. Bolo zaujímavé vidieť ako na ten istý jav pozerajú ľudia z rôznych disciplín. Konferencia ukázala, že interdisciplinárny prístup môže upozorniť na nedostatky identifikácie a poznania problémov len z pohľadu jednej disciplíny.

If we were to conduct a study on the popularity of subjects among social work students, the subjects of Research Methodology and Statistics would likely rank low on the list. It is precisely the lack of popularity of research methodology among students that led to the preparation of this textbook. The stylistic approach of this text was chosen with the intention of introducing the fundamentals of methodology to students encountering it for the first time, without alienating methodologists. The text primarily serves as a teaching aid for the course "Exercise in Research Methodology" and the seminars "Bachelor Thesis Seminar" and "Master's Thesis Seminar." Throughout the entire textbook, examples and case studies are interwoven and visually highlighted. The text endeavors to address the fundamental question that is key to motivating and understanding the essence of research methodology: why is research necessary for social workers? The aim of the textbook is to facilitate students' preparation for the Research Methodology course and to enhance their understanding of the basics of research methodology.

Třetí vydání úspěšné publikace bylo rozšířeno o aktuální společenská témata, která přinesl vývoj v posledních letech. Vyžádal si je rostoucí zájem odborné i širší veřejnosti o problematiku nežádoucích jevů. Aktualizována jsou témata sociálněpatologických jevů souvisejících s rodinou a agresivitou. Nově jsou zařazeny kapitoly týkající se nových typů závislostí (na sociálních sítích, technologiích) a zneužívání látek nezpůsobujících závislosti (vitaminy, steroidy, hormony, laxativa). Pozornost je upřena na faktory vyvolávající rozvoj těchto sociálněpatologických jevů, zejména na jejich vazbu na rodinné prostředí, a dále na možnosti jejich řešení.

Publikace bude přínosná při studiu problematiky sociálněpatologických jevů jak pro odborníky a specialisty, tak pro studenty a další případné zájemce. Mohou ji využít i pracovníci, kteří se na řešení sociálnědeviantních a patologických jevů již v praxi podílejí, a specialisté na vědeckých pracovištích. Je ale též určena vysokoškolským studentům, kteří se připravují na práci v tzv. pomáhajících profesích, tedy budoucím vychovatelům, sociálním pracovníkům, terapeutům, etopedům, speciálním pedagogům, a studentům učitelských a zdravotnických oborů. Vzhledem ke společenskému zájmu o projednávaná témata poslouží i dalším zájemcům z řad širší veřejnosti.

When studying the Renaissance, researchers utilize various critical and core terms and concepts which it is necessary to characterize. However, many such points, notably the following, are problematic: The relationship between the Renaissance and the antiquity; The connection with the Middle Ages; The transformation to Mannerism and Baroque; Realism and Secularism in Renaissance art; The individualism of the Renaissance artist; The reasons for the creation of Renaissance art in Italy, its determinants and stimulators; Distinguishing between the analysis of the genesis of the Renaissance and the analysis of the creation of the period’s art generally; Regional differences in Italy and their impact on the art; Chronological limits of the Renaissance and its milestones; The terms “Medieval Ages” and “Early Modern Period”; The impact, and its extent, of the artistic influences of the Byzantine, Gothic and Romanesque arts on the Renaissance. The term “Renaissance” itself, its content and existence, are also the subject of the discussion with students, alongside learning how such terms and definitions came about and continue to evolve, how they attain their content, how this content morphs in the historical discourse, what academical pluralism and freedom of thinking look like in the discourse led by historians, what the differences are between scientists and schools of thought on the same subject and how it is possible that they are so numerous. The students will come to recognize the leading scholars in the field, and follow their arguments and methodological approaches. They shall be invited to closely trace and scrutinize the logic which those historians use in building their argumentation. It shall be seen that the freedom to create terms, concepts and new definitions cannot stand on an ignorance of the (historical) facts, as becomes clear with expanding knowledge of those historical facts, the variability of their interpretation growing in tandem. This approach, actually used across the whole range of seminars and lectures, shall drive discussion on the topics covered, students being invited to formulate their own theses and antitheses.

Základný cieľ práce spočíva v prezentovaní najvýznamnejších historickofilozofických učení 19. a 20. storočia vo formovaní a naplnení silných a slabých modelov filozofie dejín filozofie v koncepciách Hegela, Schellinga, Marxa, Nietzscheho, Husserla, Heideggera, Finka, Patočku a Gadamera. Prezentujú sa tu výsledky filozofie dejín filozofie ako metateoretického pohybu vo vnútri dejinnofilozofického myslenia, ktorého zámerom nie je empiricky opísať dejinnofilozofický proces, ale pochopiť ho a vysvetliť ako neoddeliteľnú súčasť tých najvýznamnejších filozofických problémov – čo je filozofia, čo je metafyzika a otázka bytia.

Učebnica AKO POUŽÍVAŤ SLOVENČINU V LEKÁRSKOM PROSTREDí  – základy slovenčiny pre študentov medicíny obsahuje 13 lekcií, ktoré sú vhodné pre samoštúdium a pre prácu s učiteľom na jazykovom seminári. Tematicky zamerané lekcie ponúkajú základy slovenskej výslovnosti, slovnej zásoby, krátke dialógy a jednoduchý výklad užitočnej gramatiky. Všetky cvičenia a aktivity umožňujú študentom osvojovať si a precvičovať bohatú lekársku slovnú zásobu a vybranú gramatiku v kontexte. Obsahujú kľúčové slová, slovné spojenia, jednoduché frázy a základné otázky, ktoré sa používajú v komunikácii lekára s pacientom. Dôraz sa kladie na funkčnosť jazyka pre získavanie údajov o zdravotnom stave pacienta, o jeho živote, rodinnom prostredí, o chorobách predkov, súrodencov a pod. Na konci učebnice sú tematicky zoradené užitočné slová a slovné spojenia z prostredia nemocnice, zoznam základných slovies a kľúč k cvičeniam.

The present monograph titled Evolutionary Ethics: Selected Issues and Challenges discusses a range of problems, theoretical concepts, and beliefs from the perspective of evolutionary ethics. The term evolution has become one of the central terms in contemporary science and philosophy. In social sciences in general, and in socio-biology and evolutionary psychology in particular, evolution has had great impact on our understanding of the genesis of culture. Evolutionary theories play a similar role within the theory of consciousness and of the mind (evolutionary epistemology). The interrelation between our evolutionary past and our sense of good and evil is also a subject of heightened interest in ethics; it has in fact become one of its challenges. The concept of evolution challenges the way we create thought patterns through which we understand, or hope to understand, ourselves and the world around us. This monograph represents a general summary of selected issues in evolutionary ethics, touching upon various aspects of current research into evolutionary ethics and the related domains of evolution, science, ethics, and morals. Evolutionary ethics has become a project which presupposes that in order to understand the essence and basis of morals one must turn to the process of evolution of thought, and to the theories put forth by evolutionists, specifically evolutionary biologists. The structure of this monograph, as well as its potential usefulness for research and education clearly show that the analysis of the problems discussed here has significant implications for domains far removed from the purely theoretical parts of moral philosophy or biology. The advantage of such discourse is that it enables the implementation of evolutionary ethics in social and ethical issues of public interest (for example Sex Literacy, Sex Education), and this should be recognised and welcome.

Poradenstvo chápeme ako takú aplikáciu osobnosti do oblasti jej konania, ktorá rozvíja jej bytie. Vychádzame z aplikácie vývinu do poradenstva a naväzujeme na prácu Úvod do poradenskej psychológie, ktorá bola publikovaná skôr. V týchto učebných textoch sme rozpracovali podrobnejšie kapitolu, poradenstvo starším dospelým. Publikovaná práca môže prispieť k porozumeniu a podpore tohto dôležitého obdobia v živote človeka.
