Vzdelávací systém (školstvo) je jedným z najúčinnejších nástrojov formovania mladej generácie v každej vyspelej spoločnosti. V školách sa utvára nielen vzdelanostná báza nutná pre plnenie požiadaviek v hospodárstve a v spoločenskej sfére, ale taktiež sa formuje národná a ideová identita každého člena spoločnosti. Škola má určujúci podiel na tvorbe pozitívnych hodnôt, ale môže byť aj živnou pôdou xenofóbie a rasistických postojov.

Nezastupiteľnú úlohu má škola vo vytváraní národného povedomia, stotožnenia sa s vlastným národom, jeho históriou, hrdinskými činmi predkov a so zmyslom existencie.

Po rozpade Rakúsko-Uhorska došlo v strednej Európe k fundamentálnym geopolitickým zmenám. Jednou z nich bol vznik Československa, štátu založeného na radikálne odlišných princípoch než bolo predvojnové Uhorsko. Zakladatelia Československej republiky (ČSR), osobnosti, ktoré rozhodujúcim spôsobom určili charakter politického zriadenia v novovzniknutej republike, nepatrili k privilegovaným vrstvám predošlého režimu. Na rozdiel od Uhorska, kde takmer bez výnimky kontrolovala politickú moc šľachta, elitu v Československu tvorili muži, ktorí boli radikálnymi kritikmi Rakúsko-Uhorska. Výstižným príkladom bola najvplyvnejšia osobnosť medzivojnového Československa, prezident Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. Napriek svojmu pôvodu Masaryk bol Čechmi i Slovákmi vnímaný ako zakladateľ štátu, legendárna postava, ktorá politickým a spoločenským vplyvom ďaleko presahovala právomoci prezidentského úradu. Protikladom ku konzervatívnemu Uhorsku bolo Československo štátom, kde najmä v prvých rokoch dominovali ľavicové idey. Nemenej hlboké boli zmeny v politickej a národnostnej rovine. Československo sa stalo parlamentnou demokraciou, v rámci ktorej pôsobili politické zoskupenia organizované na ideovom, konfesionálnom i etnickom princípe. Mocenským, politickým a spoločenským centrom republiky sa stal tzv. československý národ, súručenstvo Čechov a Slovákov. Česi a Slováci, vnímaní ako „vetvy“ jednotného národného celku, boli definovaní ako „štátotvorný národ“, ipso facto, oprávnení k určujúcej úlohe v štáte. Československá republika sa takto stala národným štátom, napriek skutočnosti, že obyvateľstvo tvorili aj početné komunity Nemcov a Maďarov. Na Slovensku v dôsledku maďarizácie, t. j. transformácie mnohonárodnostného Uhorska na etnicky homogénny štát, nezohrávala inteligencia tak významnú úlohu ako tomu bolo v Čechách. Štátne orgány preto úsilie zacielili predovšetkým na „poslovenčenie“ 5 Slovenska. Významná, vari najvýznamnejšia úloha v uvedenom procese pripadala výstavbe školského systému, ktorý by dokázal vychovávať mladú generáciu v súlade s ideologickými cieľmi a hospodárskymi potrebami republiky.

The goal of the monograph is to highlight the significant problem of interpreting the Socratic question, as its approach represents a method of interpreting the history of philosophy, specifically in our case, the interpretation of Socrates and Plato. The Socratic question can be grasped in diametrically different ways, as shown by Patočka and Nietzsche, among others. The former aligns with Socrates and innovatively updates his question for the present. The latter is ambivalent towards Socrates but ultimately labels him a decadent.

In the first part of the monograph, Patočka's characterization of human existence is presented, which he formulates as unified and morally firm. Patočka interprets the Socratic question as care for the soul, for its well-being, without deriving the concept of good from something positively defined but from the whole world, which can only be defined negatively due to its constant openness. This sphere of negativity is for Patočka something immensely positive because transcendence lifts humans from relative goods to the overall meaning, making them morally capable in the true sense. The good, i.e., the requirement for a surge, for a turn of humans from the world of things to the whole world, is for him a program that Socrates first formulated through his knowing ignorance.

The second part of the work is dedicated to Nietzsche's concept based on the non-unified nature of human existence, which is not derived from the whole world or overall meaning but from situational meaning. Nietzsche strives to prove that in every situation, human existence is exposed to two opposing perspectives, between which it is impossible to decide which is correct. He concludes that both perspectives are equally valid and mutually conditioned, meaning that the opposite of good, what threatens meaning, is a beneficial condition for situational meaning. He labels this level as immoral, as a sphere where human existence creates meaning outside the thinking of good and evil in opposition.

The conclusion of the work is open because, as it turns out, we do not have a common denominator that could decide on the correctness of one or the other concept. Precisely in this lies the fact that the Socratic question remains a serious philosophical problem even today.

The main goal of the monograph "Moving Towards Cognitive Adaptation Studies: Adaptation as Play" was to orient current research in adaptation studies towards the empirically responsible cognitive branch of non-radical constructivism. This intention results from the rapid progressive differentiation of adaptation studies research, which has mainly manifested itself in this area in the last two decades. With the model of adaptation as play in a cognitive-scientific perspective, author provides the possibility of predicting the nature (also in a broader sense) of the experience of adaptation. Since the form of this experience significantly shapes the products of the adaptation process into their final form, the model of adaptation as play can be applied even in the interpretation of individual adaptations. In the monograph, the author synthesized the model of adaptation as play based on the knowledge of various disciplines. In the field of cognitive sciences, he saw help from the starting points of philosophy, linguistics, informatics, psychology, anthropology, biology and neuroscience – especially affective neuroscience, which also deals with the emotional dimension of the play. In the intersection with the essential interdisciplinary components of adaptation research, he also used the knowledge of classical and cognitive variations of literary science, film science (also theatrology) and media studies to a large extent. Consistent with other similar results of cognitive sciences, it turns out that even seemingly serious adaptations, like in many aspects of our culture, have a ludic base.

In the presented collection, we supplement the characterization contained in the inventively and convincingly formulated title of the obituary The Quiet Revolutionary of Our Science, František Miko, with a set of thematically diverse contributions (from the fields of style, sound, translation studies, phraseology, didactics...) dedicated to this significant figure of Slovak science on the occasion of what would have been his ninety-fifth birthday.

Učebný materiál obsahuje rôznorodé texty, kvízy, cvičenia, mapy a pod., ktoré svojim obsahom ešte viac približujú problematiku odboru. Tento učebný materiál má za cieľ slúžiť ako základ pre ďalšie vytvorenie ešte precíznejšieho materiálu potrebného na výučbu špecializovaného cudzieho jazyka.

The work deals with the evolution in theory and practice of democracy, open society and humanism which is marked by dichotomy of its own progressive and regressive features. Civilization trajectory of human reality, the implementation strategy thought overlaps through a reality in the form of freedom, solidarity and human rights, formulation of normative ideas of man and his/her nature, rationalistic universalism and voluntaristic individualism created preconditions for the political background of modern societies which established democratic order with rules allowing to dispose with freedom to which the individual, as a rational being, is authorized. Moreover, the perspective of awareness of ambiguity and paradoxical content of individual parameters of democracy, open society and humanism, ideologically shaped and fixed by worldviews of economic and political elites, from our point of view, is a mirror image of how those conditions differ from the standard assumptions formulated in theory.

Cieľom predkladanej vysokoškolskej učebnice je poskytnúť predovšetkým ucelený a systematický prehľad o základných legislatívnych dokumentoch, ktoré sú späté s pedagogickým pôsobením a výchovno-vzdelávacou činnosťou učiteľov v školskej praxi. Vysokoškolská učebnica je v prvom rade určená študentom učiteľstva akademických predmetov, ale aj čerstvým absolventom učiteľského štúdia, ktorí sú v pozícii začínajúceho učiteľa.
Predkladaná publikácia je výnimočná tým, že sa nezameriava na konkrétne legislatívne dokumenty a ich popis, ale sprístupňuje význam a znenie viacerých legislatívnych dokumentov v kontexte kľúčových pojmov výchovno-vzdelávacej činnosti učiteľa a typických školských situácii. V publikácii neuvádzame plné znenie citovaných paragrafov zákonov, vyhlášok a rezortných usmernení ale len výňatky, ktoré sú v súlade so zameraním a potrebami učebnice. Takto chceme pomôcť študentom učiteľstva a začínajúcim učiteľom zorientovať sa v ich právach ale aj povinnostiach, ktoré definuje a vymedzuje školská legislatíva a najmä zorientovať sa v základných legislatívnych požiadavkách, ktoré sa kladú na každého učiteľa v školskej praxi, počnúc podieľaním sa na príprave školského vzdelávacieho programu, orientáciou sa v kvalifikačnom raste učiteľov, v hodnotení žiakov, v prístupe k žiakom so špeciálnymi potrebami, až po bežné školské situácie ako udelenie výchovného opatrenia, školský úraz, lyžiarsky výcvik alebo školská akcia. Vzhľadom na rozsah uvedených oblastí, sme jednotlivé témy rozdelili do dvoch publikácií podľa tematického zamerania.

The content of the exercises corresponds in its focus to the lessons of the mentioned textbook, both in terms of the grammatical phenomena, as well as the vocabulary. For this reason, only vocabulary that was not included in the lessons of the textbook is included in the exercises. The Latin-Slovak dictionary at the end of the exercise book contains the entire vocabulary from the exercise book and the textbook. Celá Gadamerova historicko-filozofická tvorba je však najvýraznejšie spojená s týmito antickými mysliteľmi a s dvoma géniami nemeckého filozofického myslenia. Preto niet vyhnutia. Bez tejto konfrontácie by bolo celé moje úsilie v istom zmysle zbytočné. To, či a ako sa mi to podarí, je už iná otázka. Každý čitateľ si určite vytvorí svoj vlastný úsudok.

Filozofické dielo zakladateľa nemeckého klasického idealizmu Immanuela Kanta patrí k tým, ktoré je silou svojho teoretického odkazu permanentne inšpirujúce aj v súčasných dobových filozofických aktivitách. To je neodškriepiteľnou skutočnosťou, voči ktorej nemožno vážnejšie namietať. Dôkazom tejto skutočnosti sú aj filozofické učenia zakladateľa fenomenológie Edmunda Husserla, jeho pokračovateľa Martina Heideggera a tiež viacerých predstaviteľov analytickej filozofie. Uvedená skutočnosť priviedla autorov tejto práce k myšlienke, aby naznačenej problematike venovali samostatnú kolektívnu monografiu.
