Vhodne zvolené vyšetrovacie metódy sú popri fyzikálnom vyšetrení a podrobnej anamnéze pilierom diagnostiky jednotlivých chorôb. Poznanie, ale najmä adekvátne používanie vyšetrovacích metód patrí k základným znalostiam každého lekára. V súčasnosti nie je na Slovensku dostupná žiadna publikácia s komplexným prehľadom vyšetrovacích metód vo vnútornom lekárstve. Tento typ učebnice by sa takto mohol stať základným zdrojom pre získanie informácií o možnostiach, výbere, použití jednotlivých vyšetrovacích metód pri jednotlivých chorobách vo vnútornom lekárstve. Publikácia bude slúžiť ako študijný materiál pre študentov v pregraduálnej forme štúdia, ale aj v rámci špecializačného štúdia. Učebnica bude praktickým pokračovaním vysokoškolskej učebnice „Interná propedeutika“, ktorá bola vydaná v rámci riešenia KEGA projektu 022UPJŠ-4/12011 v rokoch 2011 -2013. Učebnica bola vydaná v r. 2014, druhé vydanie učebnice bolo začiatkom  roku 2022.

Učebné texty Psychológia v medicíne prezentujú základné poznatky o správaní sa a prežívaní človeka nielen v chorobe, približujú psychodiagnostické postupy a psychoterapeutickú liečbu pacientov. Podstatnou súčasťou práce je kapitola, ktorá pojednáva o lekárskej psychológii. Táto časť práce poukazuje na význam komunikácie a interakcie medzi lekárom a pacientom a nutnosť zohľadnenia významných vzťahových aspektov medzi nimi. Kapitola sa ďalej venuje psychosomatickému rozmeru vybraných chorôb v kontexte rôznych medicínskych odborov. Zároveň je analyzovaná psychologická problematika pacientov s telesným, zmyslovým postihnutím a duševne zaostalých osôb, záver učebnice predstavuje opis špecifík práce s detským pacientom. Pomocou týchto učebných textov si študenti medicíny majú osvojiť základné psychologické poznatky, získať vedomosti o efektívnej komunikácii s pacientmi, príbuznými a ostatným zdravotníckym personálom, tvorivo pristupovať k riešeniu problémov pri práci. Zároveň práca zdôrazňuje potrebu duševnej hygieny a starostlivosti o seba, ktorá je v práci lekára nevyhnutná.

Laparoscopic surgery today represents the standard and, in many respects, a preferred modality of surgical treatment. The dynamics of its global expansion, enabled by advancements in biomedical technologies and the development of global information and communication channels, is unprecedented in the history of surgery. Currently, there is virtually no abdominal operation that is not performed laparoscopically, with laparoscopic procedures often being the method of choice.

Despite—or perhaps because of—the unprecedentedly rapid penetration of laparoscopic surgeries into everyday surgical practice, universally accepted technical standards are still lacking in many respects. The high variability of procedural approaches within individual laparoscopic operations stems more from the traditions of specific workplaces than from evidence-based medicine. This situation is further influenced by the development of new and revived concepts such as mini-laparoscopy, SILS (Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery), NOTES (Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery), and their hybrid combinations with classical laparoscopy.

The aim of this monograph is to draw the attention of the professional community back to the fundamental principles of laparoscopic surgery, which should serve as a foundation for the effective and safe performance of laparoscopic operations, as well as a basis for a critical stance towards fashionable innovative trends.

“Pathology Part 2 (summer semester) - Practical lessons for students of dental medicine” represents the second half of the university textbook designed for the pregradual study of pathology. The textbook complements the lectures of pathology and serves as a source of information for students of dental medicine, that are preparing for the practical credit, as well as the final oral examination.

In this part of the “Pathology” series, forty-four selected histopathological slides are presented. Each selected slide is provided with general information in relation to etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, as well as with corresponding morphological features, including the gross appearance and the most important histopathological characteristics. The textbook summarizes the basic concepts of systemic pathology (pathology of the heart, vessels, lungs, gastrointestinal, urogenital system, breast, musculoskeletal, nervous system, skin and infancy) and pathology of the orofacial region, that is logical continuation and completion of general pathology in the first semester.

V závere sa venujú ageizmu, ktorý je tiež dôležitým javom v dnešnej klinickej medicíne.
