The main aim of the presented is to bring up outcomes of research of young scientists and students from Slovakia, as well as from abroad.

This conference proceedings contains 19 papers in Slovak, Czech and English language. Papers are dealing with current issues of theory and practice of politics and international relations. We can find paper analyzing globalization, international terrorism, topic of EU or development of European states. The conference proceedings contents also papers regarding the far-right parties, role of women in  politics and integration migrants in Slovak republic.

Proceedings of the 11th Scientific Conference of Young Historians, organized by the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in cooperation with the Slovak Historical Society at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, on October 19-20, 2021.

Currently, these histories are often presented as an extension of the history of science. The history of knowledge not only expands the boundaries of the history of science but also explores the boundaries between different forms of knowledge and ignorance. Just as studies of historical memory have expanded and complemented their interest in researching forgetting, the history of knowledge includes studies of ignorance. They focus on the change that has occurred over the past decades: from the sacralization of science and respect for professional knowledge to the rejection of science and constant questioning of professional knowledge, to which the history of knowledge must also respond. Findings as a product form the basis of human interactions and have their own past. What was the significance of knowledge and cognition in different historical periods? How did state power influence the development of knowledge and cognition? What can be considered knowledge in a particular historical era or culture? Finally, is there any human activity that cannot be considered knowledge?

Currently, in the field of the history of knowledge, a significant surge in research, publishing, and the emergence of new institutions can be observed. The eleventh doctoral conference—Meeting of Young Historians XI, organized by the Department of History at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in cooperation with the Slovak Historical Society at the Slovak Academy of Sciences—will contribute to expanding the perspective on the past of knowledge and cognition. The conference, intended for Slovak and foreign doctoral students, aims to provide a space for presenting the latest results of scientific research, professional discussion, establishing contacts, developing cooperation, and exchanging experiences among the broader historical community. The starting point for the conference is a peer-reviewed proceedings volume consisting of publication outputs from active participants.

Etika starostlivosti ponúka inšpiratívne spôsoby, ako premýšľať o vzťahoch a spojeniach, ktorých sme súčasťou. Poskytuje nové/ neobvyklé čítanie/ porozumenie ľudských vzťahov, a tým nám umožňuje novým spôsobom a adekvátne reagovať na niektoré empirické výzvy (Pettersen 2011, s. 51). Ešte pred dvadsiatimi piatimi rokmi bolo uvažovanie o starostlivosti spojené s rozhodnutiami žien v privátnej sfére týkajúcimi sa ich osobných dilem a problémov. V priebehu posledných dvoch desaťročí zástancovia etiky starostlivosti ukázali, že ideál starostlivosti má potenciál byť regulatívom nielen súkromného správania, ale aj ľudských interakcií vo všeobecnosti. V súčasnosti majú myšlienky o starostlivosti silu meniť spôsob, ako hodnotíme osobné vzťahy, profesionálne správanie, verejnú politiku, medzinárodné vzťahy a globálne otázky. Relevancia etiky starostlivosti v toľkých širokých oblastiach života, z ktorých mnohé sa vyznačujú vzájomnými inkompatibilitami a protichodnými záujmami, je podmienená viacerými faktormi, avšak jedným z najvýznamnejších je práve tvorivosť a plodnosť myslenia predstaviteliek a predstaviteľov etiky starostlivosti, ktoré/í vyvíjajú etické koncepcie, modely a metódy schopné uchopiť a analyzovať ľudské vzťahy v celej ich rôznosti (Petersen 2011, s. 52). Etika starostlivosti totiž v porovnaní s tradičnými etickými koncepciami a teóriami z oblasti morálnej filozofie prináša radikálne odlišné súbory modelov a normatívnych koncepcií. V súčasnosti je to práve feministická etika starostlivosti, ktorá ponúka kritické premyslenie starostlivosti v priestore morálnej filozofie, etiky a sociálnej filozofie.

Cieľom predkladanej publikácie je identifikovať pojem, predmet, prístup, filozofické základy a východiská, ako aj možnosti aplikácie etiky starostlivosti ako špecifického morálneho prístupu, a zároveň ako špecifickej morálnej teórie na poli spoločenskovedného a humanitného skúmania. V slovenskom akademickom prostredí na uplatnenie etiky starostlivosti ako špecifického morálno-filozofického prístupu zamerala svoju pozornosť najmä Zuzana Kiczková, a to osobitne v oblasti ekofilozofie, rodových štúdií a bioetiky, pričom čiastkové problémy etiky starostlivosti rozpracovávala aj Marianna Szapuová.

Pozornosť, venovaná problematike čínskeho pôsobenia, je vysoko relevantná. Kreovanie pozitívnej reputácie v zahraničí je legitímnym nástrojom každého štátu v snahe generovať vplyv. Čínska ľudová republika bola v tomto smere od úvodu tisícročia veľmi úspešná, vďaka čomu sa v medzinárodnom systéme začala dostávať do pozícií, na ktoré si z hľadiska vlastnej histórie, veľkosti a potenciálu legitímne nárokuje. Príklady zo zahraničia zároveň upozorňujú na skutočnosť, že ani čínska zahraničná politika by nemala byť prijímaná nekriticky a zasluhuje si obozretný prístup a uvážlivú diskusiu. To celé pri rešpektovaní nielen čínskej osobitosti, ale aj zohľadnení reálií veľmocenského súboja viditeľného v úvode 21. storočia. V tomto kontexte nemožno abstrahovať od detailného pohľadu na čínsku mäkkú moc, ako jedného z kľúčových nástrojov generovania vplyvu vo svete. Jej poznanie a pochopenie je nevyhnutným predpokladom pre relevantné vyhodnocovanie praktík a motivácií zahraničnej politiky Číny, no zároveň môže poslúžiť ako usmernenie v snahe vytvoriť adekvátny prístup voči tejto navrátivšej globálnej veľmoci.

The current time is fast, hasty, with strongly asserted women's emancipation, absorbed by information and communication technologies that overcome distances but create them at the same time. The lifestyle of humans is changing, many diseases are on the rise, and cancer is becoming a "trend of the present". Claims on man, and especially on women, are now too great. Women perform multiple roles and perform many tasks. They become caregiving mothers, understanding and surrendered wives, workers with professionalism and flexibility, and idols the myth of beauty too. Due to the overlapping of the traditional gender division of labor, the life of women takes place on several levels. Their work day does not end when they leave the job, but they continue to care for their household and their own family. Besides all, they strive to fulfill not only personal expectations, but also the expectations of the family, social environment and society, reject failure and strive for perfectionism.

In our lives, situations that affect and burden us more or less appear. Even though we can not in control everything and everyone, we are able to control situations that are of direct concern to us. In life, we encounter problems in employment, financial problems, illness or death of near. As well as negative, also positive situations affect us. Each responds to each situation different ways.

Monograph is one of the ways in which we aim to draw attention to the so "C-coping style" as a maladaptive way of managing the burden that is typical of oncological ill patients. It is one of the possible concepts that affect the manifestation of breast cancer. Based on this, we have focused on the used coping strategies and we consider the life events to be a significant burden in the lives of cancer patients. The research is aimed at synthesizing the life events and the coping strategies used to coping them, conceived as a risk behavior of patients with breast cancer. As the coping of the burden can be different between men and women, the monograph is intended predominantly for women, to which we have also focused in realized research. They can be patients with oncological diagnosis, but also women who want to prevent this disease by use effective coping life events. We also believe that the monograph will enrich everyone who is interested in the same target group.

Obdobie staršej dospelosti je aj pre psychológiu príležitosť urobiť syntézu svojej prírodovednej tradície a filozofickej tradície. Psychológia sa takto môže lepšie napojiť na mentálnu prácu ľudí žijúcich toto vekové obdobie staršej dospelosti usilujúcich v rozličnej miere o  komplexicitu vo svojom živote. Psychológia môže pomôcť tomuto úsiliu, pretože celistvosť človeka je aj programom jej rozvoja. Publikácia rozpoznáva seniora  nie len ako objekt, ale aj ako subjekt usilujúci o svoju podmetovosť na jeho celoživotnej ceste. Priatie veku hľadá svoje optimálne vyjadrenie a je možné najmä v súvsťažností psychologického a spirituálneho vývinu človeka. Psychológia staršieho človeka objavuje starobu nie ako totalitu vyraďujúcu človeka  z cyklu života, ale ako obdobie výberu pre život dôležitých domén spojených s preladením do vnútra, ktoré doceňuje pokoj. V tejto optike sa selektujú veci a javy tak aby nerušili, ale harmonizovali. To nie je odmietnutie vonkajšieho, ale rozlíšenie kedy dáva zmysel. Staroba preveruje aj spoločnosť , verejnosť, ktorá by mala odrážať úroveň procesov starostlivosti o duševno. Aby svet urobilo užitočným pre človeka, ale je aj dôvodom ako to vyjadril Patočka samotnej starostlivosti o toto duševno. Pozícia starého človeka v spoločnosti je obrazom toho akú váhu spoločnosť prikladá duševnému životu ľudí. Publikácia prináša poznatky psychologickej povahy o tomto vekovom období a v špeciálnej časti informácie okolo pomáhania a poradenstva.

Predložený vysokoškolský učebný text „ Úvod do poradenskej psychológie „ poskytuje študentovi jednak komplexnejší pohľad na disciplínu poradenskej psychológie, ale zároveň obsahuje kapitoly, ktoré mu približujú konkrétnejšie samotný proces poradenstva a problematiku pomáhajúcich spôsobilosti v poradenstve. Okrem toho publikácia obsahuje kapitolu, ktorá prináša niektoré paradigmy poradenskej psychológie. Dôležitou časťou publikácie je kapitola v ktorej sa aplikuje vývin do poradenstva. Táto časť práce obsahuje pod kapitoly: poradenstvo deťom, proaktívne poradenstvo adolescentom a poradenstvo starším dospelým. Súčasťou publikácie je kapitola o etike , ktorá súvisí s poradenskou psychológiou. Predložené učebné texty sa opierajú o relevantné teoretické pramene a sprístupňujú ich študentovi. Možno povedať, že predložená práca s inými prispieva svojim dielom k zaplneniu veľkej medzery, ktorá v tejto aplikovanej oblasti psychológie vznikla v posledných dvoch desaťročiach.

Násilie v práci je problémom, ktorému sa venuje pozornosť už päťdesiat rokov. Klientske násilie je jednou z jeho podôb. Ide o prípady, keď je agresorom človek, prichádzajúci do inštitúcie za účelom využitia jej služieb. Klientske násilie sa týka všetkých pomáhajúcich profesií. Táto monografia sa zaoberá špecifikami klientskeho násilia v sociálnej práci. Okrem teoretických výstupov ponúka aj výsledky výskumu realizovaného na vzorke 1170 respondentov, pracovníkov priameho kontaktu s klientom vo vybraných subjektoch poskytujúcich služby v sociálnej oblasti v SR. Monografia predstavuje súhrn trojročnej práce ôsmich odborníkov. Každý z autorov sa podieľal v rámci svojho odborného zamerania a vniesol do riešenia problematiky iné hľadisko. Hlavným zámerom bolo priniesť rôznorodosť pohľadov na riešenú problematiku a pokúsiť sa skĺbiť ich do kompaktného celku. Tak vznikla monografia, ktorá obsahuje zaujímavé teoretické východiská obsiahnuté v šiestich teoretických kapitolách počnúc úvodnou kapitolou o postavení klientskeho násilia v oblasti násilia v práci. Ďalšie kapitoly sa venujú riziku a rizikovosti sociálnej práce, etickým aspektom, osobnosti sociálneho pracovníka a rizikovým oblastiam sociálnej práce. Kapitola o výskume predkladá čitateľovi projekt výskumu a tri podkapitoly zistení spracovaných v tabuľkách a podrobne popísaných. Posledná časť monografie sa venuje prevencii a skupinovej práci. Dôležitou súčasťou sú aj prílohy, kde sa nachádza dotazníková batéria, program realizovaný na študentoch sociálnej práce a návrh programu pre pracovníkov v sociálnej oblasti.

The collection of articles from the VII. International Scientific Conference for Students and Young Scientists, organized by the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Arts of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, in cooperation with the Res Publica Civic Association the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, held on 17 May 2019 in Košice.

The aim of this publication, entitled The Turning Eights, is to point out the importance of the years ending with number eight, which have significantly affected historical development and appear to be justified in the current political context.

The almanac consists of 11 articles, which are primarily in the Slovak language. The individual contributions deal with aspects of national and foreign policies that are united in theme called The Turning Eightswith the individual interest of each author.

The topics of the almanac are the municipal elections, the position of municipalities at the public administration system, development in self-governing regions and the non-governmental organizations. The presented publication also contains articles that deal with topics in specific countries, such as China, Israel and Russia.

This textbook is designated for the students of translation and interpreting study programmes. The increase of linguistic competence in foreign language, but also in mother tongue is an inevitable part of the preparation of translators and interpreters. The low linguistic competence is often one of the reasons of the unsatisfactory quality of translation. The main aim of this book is to provide the material for the consolidation of linguistic terminology and for the improvement of oral and written utterances in the Slovak language.

Consequently, the textbook encompasses the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part summarizes the basic knowledge of language levels. In the practical part, there is the brief description of the selected orthoepic, morphological, syntactic, lexical and stylistic norms of the standard Slovak with the reference to the relevant literature offering deeper analysis of the given problem. Then practical exercises verifying the mastering of linguistic norms follow. At the end of the book, there is the little Slovak-English dictionary of the selected linguistic terms that may help students in their study of the English linguistics.
