Zverejnená publikácia bola pôvodne publikovaná v tlačenej verzii. Toto je rukopis tlačenej publikáciu, ktorú dali k dispozícii sami autori.

V publikaci se snažíme seniory oslovovat jako klienty, přitom klientem se v jistém smyslu stáváme na různých postech i my sami. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou připojena psychomotorická cvičení pro rozvoj koordinace, rovnováhy, spolupráce a radosti z pohybu. Každá část cvičení je zpracovaná pro mobilní klienty, potom pro imobilní klienty a ta je rozdělena na sedící seniory a na ležící seniory. Řadu nabízených cvičení lze využívat pro všechny skupiny seniorů, vždy záleží na schopnosti sociálního pracovníka převést nabízenou pohybovou aktivitu pro konkrétního seniora s respektováním všech jeho individuálních zvláštností. Doporučujeme využívat zejména pozitivní přístupy a vždy respektovat aktuální stav seniora. Všechny popsané aktivity lze libovolně doplňovat, měnit a využívat podle denní potřeby každého klienta individuálně. Toto cestou bychom chtěli poděkovat za spolupráci při tvorbě knihy paní Evě Marcinkové a paní Libuši Pospíšilové.

The autonomic nervous system is a vital component of the peripheral nervous system, responsible for maintaining homeostasis and regulating internal processes within the body. Unlike the voluntary control exerted by the central nervous system, the autonomic nervous system operates involuntarily, innervating smooth organs, vessels, skin glands, and even exerting some influence over skeletal muscles in connection with vegetative functions such as breathing, digestion, and the urinary and gonadal systems. Its impact extends crucially to the cardiac muscles of the heart and plays a significant role in endocrine and metabolic functions, thermoregulation, as well as emotional and behavioral responses, including adaptive reactions to stressors.

The aim of this publication is to provide a comprehensive and objective exploration of the anatomical and physiological intricacies of the autonomic nervous system, offering insights into its clinical applications. Within these pages, we meticulously delineate various interventional therapeutic procedures tailored to specific diagnoses related to the autonomic nervous system, aligning each intervention with the anatomical framework of the autonomic system. The efficacy of these procedures is evaluated based on the level of evidence, as per the current recommendations of Evidence-Based Medicine.

This publication is primarily crafted for fifth and sixth-year medical students and medical professionals specializing in anesthesiology, intensive care, and pain medicine. It serves as a valuable resource for gaining a deeper understanding of autonomic nervous system function and its clinical implications, facilitating informed decision-making in clinical practice.

Collection of contributions from the international scientific conference was created as part of the international scientific conference entitled "Administrative law without borders" held on October 19 and 20, 2023 in Tokaj in connection with the solution of the scientific project entitled "Extraterritorial effects of foreign administrative decisions in the conditions of the European Union " supported by a grant from the Scientific Grant Agency under no. 01/187/2022. The main goal of the mentioned project is the scientific investigation of the extraterritorial impact of administrative decisions of the member states of the European Union on the territory of other member states for the purpose of knowledge as well as the subsequent assessment of the need and extent of harmonization of the legislation of the member states of the European Union, perceiving the growing necessity of increasing the degree of free movement of administrative decisions in the conditions of the European of the Union. As part of the research project, an international scientific conference was held under the title "Administrative Law without Borders". At the conference, contributions were presented by members of the investigative team, who are also members of the Department of Constitutional Law and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavel Jozef Šafárik in Košice, as well as their colleagues from all over Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The main goal of the conference was the presentation and confrontation of knowledge in the field of cross-border effects of administrative acts (primarily in the conditions of the European Union), perceiving the increasingly increasing globalization of law, as a result of which it is no longer possible to perceive national law separately, but in mutual contexts with the legal systems of other states , or with the right of transnational, or international organizations, as well as obligations arising for individual states from concluded international agreements. Individual sections and blocks of the conference also corresponded to this goal, within which not only knowledge from positive-legal disciplines, but also knowledge of a theoretical-legal and historical-legal nature was heard.

Bolesti kloubů, páteře a přidružených měkkých tkání patří mezi časté stížnosti pacientů. Kniha je praktickým návodem, jak rozpoznat a léčit různé formy bolestivých kloubních stavů v každodenní klinické praxi. Na přípravě knihy se podílel kolektiv autorů se specializací v revmatologii, ortopedii a spondylochirurgii. Kniha je členěna na část obecnou a speciální. V první části je popsána definice a příčiny bolestivého kloubu, pozornost je věnována anamnéze, klinickému obrazu, základům fyzikálního vyšetření a diagnostickým manévrům. Uvedeny jsou konkrétní laboratorní testy a zobrazovací metody, které přispívají k diagnostice zánětlivých a systémových revmatických onemocnění.
Ve speciální části jsou popsány jednotlivé nozologické jednotky podle konkrétních kloubů. V samostatných kapitolách je uvedeno rameno, loket, ruka a zápěstí, kyčel, koleno, hlezno s klouby nohy a kotníkem a páteř se sakroiliakálními klouby. The SFEL school is continuation of the Winter Schools of Synchrotron radiation held in 2011, 2013, 2014 and SFEL 2017, 2018 and 2019. All schools of the series were held here, in Liptovský Ján, where our conference venue offers conditions for friendly and creative atmosphere.

The aim of the SFEL 2022 school is to facilitate the growth of a new Slovak research community with high expertise in the area of high-efficiency RTG laser, synchrotron and neutron sources. The SFEL school is designed for efficient transfer of the rapidly developing know-howin these areas to young generation – researchers and university students. The next aim of the SFEL2022 is strengthening of personal connections between the local Slovak research community and actually forming scientific teams of XFEL users, scientific teams of synchrotron or neutron sources users, respectively.

Slovak research community thus can take advantage of the fact that Slovakia is a shareholder of the European XFEL GmbH company in Hamburg, but also makes more efficient use of other closely related scientific facilities, including ILL and ESRF in Grenoble and DESY in Hamburg.

The Proceedings presents papers from international scientific conference “The Condition of Public Finances in the EU and their Future Perspectives” held on June 2 – 3, 2022 in Košice, Slovakia and is published as a partial outcome of the implementation of the VEGA project No. 1/0485/21: "Simultaneity and possibilities of reforming the system of own resources of the EU budget (legal and economic aspects also in the context of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic)" and VEGA project No. 1/0214/21: "Real Property Tax - Legal Status and Potential".

The proceedings consist of contributions from conference participants divided into two thematic sections: “The EU Budget” and “Real Estate in Taxation.” While the first section addresses both the revenue side of the EU budget (particularly in the context of the own resources system), as well as its expenditure side and its relationship to other budgets, the second section focuses on real estate as the subject of specific regulations under various taxes, including those that directly tax real estate through a tax of the same name.

Over the past fifteen years, the course on ’Exactly Solvable Models in Statistical Physics’ has become an indispensable ground of the study programme ’Theoretical Physics’ at Faculty of Science of Pavol Jozef Šafarik University in Košice. At first, the course based on the first edition of this textbook was intended for undergraduate students only, however, I have later prepared follow-up course taught at a postgraduate level on demand of several ambitious students who wished to continue in studying this exciting research field.

It is already more than decade when our students enrolled in the study programme ’Theoretical Physics’ graduate from ’Introduction to Exactly Solvable Models in Statistical Physics’ at a master level and ’Exactly Solvable Models in Statistical Physics’ at a postgraduate level. Of course, it was necessary somehow to rearrange topics for the courses of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

More specifically, a few more challenging topics concerned with exact solutions of 2D Ising model (chapter 3) were moved to a more advanced course intended for the postgraduate students, while an introductory course intended for the undergraduate students was contrarily supplemented with a few new topics requiring the second edition of this textbook.

The second edition of this textbook thus contains a completely new chapter 4 devoted to the exact solution of the Ising model on the Bethe lattice using the method of exact recursion relations, while the chapter 5 was supplemented by exact results for ground state of a few frustrated Heisenberg spin models using the variational method. It is my hope that the next edition of this textbook will come soon and it will involve all topics specifically taught within the postgraduate course as well.

The canon of American literature has undergone constant revision with many authors who were long excluded from wider recognition now being accepted as significant figures. With the emergence of postcolonial and ethnic studies after the 1960s, the diversity of the literary canon has become greater than ever, and we can now see American literature as remarkably distinctive in this respect.

The question of how to define ethnicity and how far an immigrant should go to preserve their ethnic heritage have always been addressed by writers, together with larger issues such as the definition of national identity and national literature, and where we should draw the lines between local and global identities. We understand that a single course in American ethnic literature cannot hope to answer all these complex questions, but we firmly believe that discussing these questions in classes can help us to be more understanding and tolerant of ethnic diversity.

For this reason, the main aim of this textbook is to provide an interdisciplinary introduction to American ethnic literatures with an emphasis on their historical and cultural background, to expand students’ knowledge of American literatures and cultures at the master’s level and familiarize them with specific features of ethnic literatures in the contemporary USA. The textbook contains information on Native American, African American, Asian American, Jewish American, and Hispanic American literature, history and culture.

At the same time, we look forward to welcoming participants who are attending our conference for the first time (and we hope it will not be the last).

You are holding in your hands the proceedings of scientific papers, published in connection with the implementation of scientific projects at the scientific workplace – the Department of Commercial and Economic Law, as the main organizer of the scientific conference, as well as at other departments of the Faculty of Law at UPJŠ and at many academic institutions both at home and abroad. The publication "Respiratory Medicine and Tuberculosis—Selected Chapters" is an anticipated study material intended for medical students at medical faculties and can also serve as supplementary literature in the framework of postgraduate education for specialist doctors. By compiling chapters and content, it builds upon the Slovak version of the publication "Selected Chapters from Pneumology and Phthisiology" (edited by Pavol Joppa), but the new publication expands pneumology with additional nosological units and issues in the context of current evidence-based medicine.

This book adds topics such as Sleep Breathing Disorders and Respiratory Failure to standard pneumology topics like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, pneumonia, interstitial diseases, and tuberculosis. These topics are often mentioned only marginally in pneumological publications and within internal diseases. A significant contribution is the comprehensively processed chapter on Cor pulmonale chronicum, which connects several clinical fields including pneumology, internal medicine, and cardiology. We believe that the prepared publication will find favor among readers and will be beneficial in educating students and practitioners.

The International Scientific Conference on the topic Condition and perspectives of public finances in the EU was held 2nd – 3rd June 2022in Košice focused on the topics of the EU Budget and Real Estate in taxation. On this occasion, a student symposium on the topic: "Condition and perspectives of financial law and tax law" was organized for students of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University Faculty of Law in Košice on 1st June 2022. The focus of the symposium was chosen due to the content of the grant project VEGA no. 1/0485/21: „Simultaneity and possibilities of reforming the system of own resources of the EU budget (legal and economic aspects also in the context of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic)“, of the grant project VEGA no. 1/0214/21: „Taxation of real property – legal status and potential“ and of the grant project APVV-19-0124 entitled "Tax law and new phenomena in the economy (digital services, shared economy, virtual currencies)", which are currently being addressed at the Department of Financial Law, Tax Law and Economy, Faculty of Law, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

The output of this symposium is a reviewed proceeding of papers, in which students focus on examining the current challenges of financial law and tax law. In this context, students examine not only the issue of current challenges in the field of real estate tax and the introduction of taxation based on their market value of real estate and the institute of remedies in tax procedural law, but also the current issue of EU budget law with a focus on the revenue side of the EU budget.

The authors also assess in detail the current situation in the research area, and they also present de lege ferenda proposals that could contribute to the development and improvement of several aspects of taxation, which is a benefit not only for legal science but also for application practice.

Reviewed collection of papers of the international scientific conference is the output of the international scientific conference held on 7th October 2022 within the framework of the project APVV-18-0421 „European Public Prosecutor's Office in Connections of the Constitutional Order of the Slovak Republic as Strengthening of the European Integration through Law“.

Unlike other areas of activities of the European Union, the European Union did not begin to enter the area of criminal law and criminal policy until much later. The reason is that the sphere of criminal law has traditionally been associated with the sovereignty of the state, which is why the Member States of the European Union are very slow to allow the European Union into it. The issue of the European Union's influence on the criminal law of its Member States is therefore becoming actual and raises many questions and application problems. In their papers, the authors address the various problems posed by the European Union's influence in the area of criminal law. Among the scientific problems and issues that the authors paid attention to in their works are the following: reasons for competence of the European Union within the field of criminal law; Impact of the EU legislation on criminal law of EU Member States; proposals to improve existing legislation, whether at European Union or national level, cooperation of the Court of Justice of the European Union and national judges via preliminary proceedings within the field of criminal law; as well as the issue of the European Public Prosecutor's Office.

The book is primary designed for the first-year students of the study programme “English Language for European Institutions and Economy” and its subject “Comparative Phonetics and Phonology”. Following the structure of this subject, the textbook is divided into eleven chapters whose content provides the reader with the essential theoretical information about the given issue from the sound subsystems of the English and the Slovak languages. The structure of each chapter is as follows: (1) theoretical explanation of the topic, (2) Suggestions for further reading recommending additional sources that develop the topic, (3) exercises whose aim is to evaluate students’ theoretical knowledge of the theme presented in the particular chapter, as well as its practical application in the process of communication. Considering the content of the book, it can be also used a study material for the students of all philological study programmes whose content encompasses the sound system of the English and/or the Slovak language.

Zpracovány jsou možnosti, rizika a legislativní omezení ve vztahu k poskytované péči. Komplexnost péče zaměřené především na pacienty trpící degenerativním onemocněním je multidisciplinární problém pro pomáhající profese. Rozbor základních oblastí problematiky vede ke klíčovému pochopení degenerativního onemocnění a jeho úskalí jak pro pacienta samotného, tak pro poskytovatele péče.
 
Knih na obecné téma péče o pacienty trpící demencí je na našem trhu dostatek, ale obvykle se vztahují k diagnostice a terapii a jsou určeny pro zdravotnický personál. Další skupina publikací zasahuje do oblasti sociální péče a její cílovou skupinou jsou sociální pracovníci, rodinní příslušníci nebo přímo samotné osoby trpící demencí. Nicméně řada z těchto knih jsou překlady z cizojazyčného originálu, tedy reflektující systém péče uplatňovaný v zahraničí, nikoli v České republice. Tato kniha však vychází přímo z prostředí domácích LDN, čímž je cenná.

Seznamuje čtenáře se základy anestezie a výběrem vhodného typu, premedikací, s nároky na současné nutné předoperační přípravy. Kniha ukazuje organizaci provozu centrálních operačních sálů velkých nemocnic, současnou operativu s důrazem na nové operační techniky u nejčastějších výkonů a osvětluje anesteziologické praktiky v širších souvislostech vztažených ke zdravotnímu stavu pacienta před operací.
Velmi zajímavé je rozdělení problematiky perioperační medicíny podle jednotlivých oborů a onemocnění (například hrudní a břišní chirurgie, neurochirurgie, kardiochirurgie, anestezie u urologických výkonů, očních operací či u popálených pacientů). Samostatné kapitoly se věnují hemoterapii a rizikovým skupinám nemocných včetně dětí.
Kniha je v novém vydání plně aktualizována a doplněna o nové kapitoly, které se věnují například chronickým infekčním onemocněním (HIV, infekční žloutenka) či problematice psychiatrických komorbidit.
Kniha je zajímavá především pro praktické lékaře, ale i pro další nechirurgické obory a pro mediky.

Závažná onemocnění aorty, jako jsou výdutě nebo disekce aorty, pokud nejsou včas a adekvátně léčena, mívají často pro své nositele zničující následky. Výskyt těchto onemocnění nelze považovat za vzácný, výdutě aorty se vyskytují u 4–9 % pacientů starších 50 let, u disekce se udává roční incidence 10/100 000 obyvatel. Praktický atlas akupunktury vychází z nové WHO nomenklatury akupunkturních bodů s oficiálními českými názvy. Autor, profesor MUDr. Ing. Petr Fiala, Ph.D., FIACE, je uznávaný přední český expert na akupunkturu, který vede Katedru akupunktury IPVZ. Názvy bodů a drah se shodují už i s novou mezinárodní nomenklaturou nemocí WHO, MKN-11, kterou v r. 2023 vydává i náš ÚZIS; překlad kapitoly č. 24 vedl právě prof. Fiala. U všech bodů je kromě jejich nového českého překladu uveden i jejich výklad, případně okolnosti vzniku.
