From November 10 to November 11, 2020, the 7th annual Spring School for Doctoral Students at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice will take place in Košice in a modified mode in the on-line space. The scientific program of the spring school will comprise 2 plenary lectures by leading scientific experts of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. Doctoral students will present their research papers in two sections: 24 doctoral students of Faculty of Public Administration, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Arts, and 22 doctoral students of Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science. The scientific programme of the spring school will also include a panel discussion with the management of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

One of the fundamental characteristics of the magnetic state of ferromagnetic materials is the existence of a domain structure. The university textbook "MAGNETIC DOMAINS: SPECIAL PHYSICAL PRACTICE 1" is intended primarily for students of the Master's programme in Physics of Condensed Matter FKLm and for the PhD programme in Progressive Materials PMd within the profile subject Special Practice 1 at the Institute of Physical Sciences of the Faculty of Sciences of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.  The textbook is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the basics of domain theory, including the history of domain observation and the specification of different types of energies in ferromagnetic body. The second chapter presents the relationship between domain structure and magnetisation processes in ferromagnetic materials The third chapter describes the different types of domain-wall interactions with the defect. The fourth chapter illustrates examples of domain structure in selected ferromagnetic body such as grain oriented and non-grain oriented electrical steels, amorphous and nanocrystalline ribbons. The fifth chapter summarises an overview of the different experimental methods used to visualise the domain structure and their advantages or disadvantages with respect to the structure of ferromagnetic materials. The last two chapters, the sixth and the seventh, are devoted to specific experimental tasks for observing the domain structure of a selected polycrystalline sample using the optical microscope Bitter powder method and the MFM (magnetic force microscopy) method. During the preparation of this undergraduate text, its individual parts were developed using the foreign language literature listed in the recommended references.

Učebný text Počítačová fyzika I obsahovo pokrýva problematiku prednášanú v rovnomennom kurze na bakalárskom stupni študijného programu Fyzika a v kurze Aplikácia numerických metód na bakalárskom stupni študijného programu Aplikovaná informatika. Text nadväzuje na základný kurz numerických metód so zameraním na výklad základných princípov počítačového riešenia niektorých typických fyzikálnych úloh. Zahŕňa jednak oblasť deterministických metód riešenia problémov modelovaných obyčajnými a parciálnymi diferenciálnymi rovnicami ako aj oblasť stochastických Monte Carlo simulácií. Kurz Počítačová fyzika I vytvára základ pre ďalšie štúdium pokročilejších počítačových metód prednášaných na magisterskom stupni v rámci predmetu Počítačová fyzika II. V súčasnosti je používanie počítača ako nástroja riešenia reálnych fyzikálnych úloh, a v prípade študentov ako nástroja vypracovania ich záverečných bakalárskych či diplomových prác, takmer nevyhnutnosťou. To viedlo k vzniku množstva užívateľsky orientovaných softvérových balíkov v rôznych prostrediach pre riešenie širokej škály problémov. Avšak, bez dôsledného pochopenia fungovania jednotlivých počítačových techník sú tieto programy čiernymi skrinkami s množstvom úskalí a rizík pri ich používaní. Preto tento text kladie dôraz na pochopenie silných aj slabých stránok jednotlivých metód a predpokladov ich úspešného použitia.

Na ne nadväzujú voliteľné prednášky „Jadrové žiarenie v životnom prostredí“, „Úvod do fyziky mikrosveta“ v 3. ročníku bakalárskeho stupňa jednoodborového štúdia fyziky, príp. učiteľského štúdia fyziky v kombinácii s iným predmetom a „Subjadrová fyzika“ v 1. ročníku magisterského stupňa učiteľského štúdia fyziky v kombinácii s iným predmetom. V spomenutých prednáškach sú predstavené najnovšie experimentálne poznatky o štruktúre a chovaní mikrosveta pomocou fyzikálnych teórií a ich nasledujúcej experimentálnej previerke v experimente.
Hlbšie pochopenie tohto rozsiahleho materiálu by mal umožniť aj tento vysokoškolský učebný text „Základné fyzikálne praktikum III“, ktorého prvá časť je pred Vami. Tieto skriptá obsahujú základné úlohy z praktika jadrovej fyziky realizované na Katedre jadrovej a subjadrovej fyziky (KJSF) PF UPJŠ v posledných rokoch v zimnom semestri na bakalárskom stupni štúdia fyziky, či už jednoodborovom, alebo v kombinácii s iným predmetom. Predložené učebné texty predstavujú prepracovanie a doplnenie starších skrípt (M. Karabová a kolektív, Základné fyzikálne praktikum, PF UPJŠ, 1984) používaných na KJSF doteraz.
