The vast majority of these publication outputs are relatively easily accessible to domestic readers, whether in print or electronic form. However, since several key published outputs are less accessible to Slovak readers for various reasons, we decided to reprint at least some of them in their Slovak-language versions in this collection. As all the texts reprinted here underwent proper peer review during their original publication, it was no longer necessary to review their Slovak-language versions again. For each published study, we therefore provide bibliographic details of its original publication, including the names of reviewers, scientific editors, and others.

According to the legislation, the municipality is considered as an entity that is obliged to provide information to the public by making information available upon request or by actively publishing information. The methodological manual entitled "Mandatory disclosure of information at the municipal level" defines the procedure, identified problem areas and recommendations/examples of good practice in the process of making information available upon request. The presented manual also draws attention to legal regulations and information with which municipalities come into contact most often and which, according to their wording, are required to be published.

Na základe toho je nevyhnutné poznať systém kvalitatívnych finančných ukazovateľov, prostredníctvom ktorých dokážeme posúdiť finančnú situáciu a výkonnosť. Učebné texty poukazujú aj na výpočet konkrétnych ukazovateľov, identifikáciu vzájomných vzťahov medzi ukazovateľmi a ich dynamiku, vyjadrujúcu tendencie vo vývoji finančnej situácie v časovom horizonte.

Peer-Reviewed Proceedings of Contributions from the International Scientific Conference Organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Public Administration at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, held on November 15, 2018, in Košice.

On November 15, 2018, an international scientific conference titled "Public Administration in the Contemporary Democratic and Legal State" was held at the Faculty of Public Administration of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

This scientific event, attended by more than 60 experts from domestic and foreign universities and faculties, as well as representatives of various institutions from the public administration environment, marked the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Public Administration. The first part of the conference took place within a plenary session, while the second part continued with discussions in four sections, whose names align with the priority scientific orientation of the faculty's departments. At the plenary session, as well as in the professional sections, many content-rich and inspiring presentations were delivered, which undoubtedly contribute to further developing the theory of public administration in general and to developing specific scientific topics addressed by the faculty's departments in particular.

The scientific conference was characterized by a working atmosphere, a cultivated scientific and professional environment, with numerous discussions among participants related to current issues and problems in public administration, as well as formulating proposals for further cooperation in the fields of science and education. The Faculty is publishing a peer-reviewed scientific proceedings from the conference, which will consist of two parts due to the large number of active participants. The first part includes three presentations from the plenary session corresponding to the content of contributions delivered during the section discussions guaranteed by the Department of Public Policy and Theory of Public Administration and the Department of Public Law Disciplines. The second part includes two presentations from the plenary session that are content-wise related to the discussions in sections guaranteed by the Department of Social Sciences and the Department of Economics and Public Administration Management.

We extend our gratitude to all active participants of the scientific conference, as well as to those who contributed organizationally to its preparation and course.

From June 14 to June 17, 2022, the 8th annual Spring School for Doctoral Students at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice will take place in Liptovský Ján. The scientific program of the spring school will comprise 3 plenary lectures by leading scientific experts and 1 workshop. Doctoral students will present their research papers in two sections: 22 doctoral students of Faculty of Public Administration, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Arts, and 26 doctoral students of Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science. The scientific programme of the spring school will also include a panel discussion with the management of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

Vysokoškolská učebnica poskytuje ucelený prehľad teoretických východísk, základných myšlienok, koncepcií a súvislostí v problematike cieľov a nástrojov hospodárskej politiky. Učebnica sa zameriava na kombináciu teórie a praxe hospodárskej politiky a sumarizuje reálie v rámci cieľov hospodárskej politiky a jednotlivých druhov politík ako súčasti cyklu verejnej politiky v súčasných demokratických a právnych štátoch. Hospodársku politiku autori vnímajú ako verejnú politiku, ktorá je praktickou činnosťou vlád štátov, a zároveň aj etablovanou teoretickou vednou disciplínou, ktorá má svoje teoretické východiská a koncepcie. Autori hospodársku politiku sledujú aj v jej praktických implikáciách, ktoré sa prejavujú v jednotlivých parciálnych politikách. Vzhľadom na celospoločenskú významnosť a schopnosti ovplyvniť správanie ekonomických subjektov, štátu a verejnej správy, autori upriamujú pozornosť na menovú politiku, fiškálnu politiku, zahranično-obchodnú politiku, stabilizačnú politiku, politiku hospodárskej súťaže a štruktúrnu politiku a na celkové hodnotenie účinnosti hospodárskej politiky. Jednotlivé hospodárske politiky autori rozpracovávajú samostatne, a následne aj v ich vzájomných súvislostiach. Vysokoškolská učebnica je súhrnnou publikáciou približujúcou čitateľovi teóriu a prax hospodárskej politiky v Slovenskej republike a v širšom európskom priestore.

Peer-reviewed proceedings of the scientific conference, which took place on 27.11.2015 at the Faculty of Public Administration, UPJŠ v Košice, Popradská 66, 041 32 Košice

Territorial self-government forms an integral part of a modern democratic and legal state. It is an expression of efforts to implement tasks to ensure the needs of the territorial community of citizens at the level that is closest to them.

One of the most important tools at the disposal of local self-government units in the performance of the tasks entrusted to them is the power to issue general binding regulations in matters of local self-government and to ensure the tasks arising for local self-government from the law. Law-making at the level of towns and municipalities or higher territorial units is thus an integral part of the exercise of territorial self-government and ultimately expresses its specific character as an essential part of public administration.

The aim of the scientific conference organized by the Department of Public Law Disciplines, Faculty of Public Administration, UPJŠ in Košice on 27 November 2015 was an effort to present the achieved results of scientific research activities in the field of law-making at the level of cities and municipalities, or higher territorial units. The conference provided a wide space for discussion on current issues of municipal standard-setting with the participation of representatives of the professional public, as well as representatives of local government and local self-government.

The scientific conference and the peer-reviewed proceedings of the conference were realized as a part of the solution of the VEGA grant project No. 1/0683/13 under the title "Normative Formation of Municipalities in the Matters of Local Self-Government. The present collection of papers from the scientific conference is an expression of the long-term efforts of the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Public Administration, UPJŠ in Košice to address current issues of public administration with a special focus on the issue of local government.

The second revised and extended edition of University textbook Organizational Behavior is the work of an international team of authors. University teachers of two Slovak universities and two Czech universities are the authors of this book. Problem areas of organizational behavior and its processing comprehensively was the intention of the authors. University textbook is complemented by 10 chapters, other chapters are significantly revised. University textbook is thematically divided into five parts. The first part treats the issue of organizational behavior as a discipline. Organizational behavior is theoretically defined, there is indicated the subject matter of the discipline, relationship with other sciences, historical and scientific foundations of organizational behavior. There are also presented knowledge about formal organizations and bureaucracy. Final of the first part is dedicated to social science research and social audit in organizations. The second part is called Individual aspects of organizational behavior and there are included themes as personality, work and its role in human life, job satisfaction, work motivation and loyalty of employees. This part is complemented by the issue of personality, competency and power of manager and career issues. Interpersonal interaction and group processes in an organization is the name of the third part of the book. It includes the chapters as working group, team and team roles, leadership and its impact on human personality, communication, performance management, friendships and loneliness in the organization. This section was complemented by the issue of interculturar communication in the international organizational context, conflicts in the workplace and workplace misbehavior. Fourth, complemented part is called Resources and means of ensuring employees and there are included themes such as external and internal mobility of workers, personal marketing, and unemployed as a potential source of workforce and talent management. The fifth part is called The organization as a culture and organizational dynamics. Authors included topics such as organizational culture, social responsibility of organizations and added the themes ethics on workplace, change management and radical change – reengineering. University textbook presents current theoretical knowledge and also the results of relevant research. Contents of chapters are complemented by practical examples of organizations. There are included questions for reflection and tasks at the end of each chapter. Tasks that help students and professional public apply the theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems. This University textbook comes with support KEGA no. 013-UPJŠ 4/2013 titled Organizational Behavior - University textbook for the compulsory subject of the new study program.

The textbook Citizenship in the Context of the Ethics of Care seeks to introduce students of the humanities and social sciences to current issues of citizenship from the perspective of a specific moral-philosophical theory—namely, feminist moral philosophy, specifically the feminist ethics of care. Traditionally, the topic of citizenship and its related questions have been perceived and studied primarily as subjects of political thought and political theory.

We predominantly consider citizenship as a political category, which is mainly the domain of political science or, at most, other social science disciplines. However, both the past and the present urge us to reflect on citizenship in connection with humanity and solidarity, and thus from a moral perspective. Understanding citizenship solely as a political category and political institution is insufficient. The conceptual separation of politics from morality and ethics results in difficulties in grasping citizenship as a morally relevant category and as an ethical value. This, in turn, prevents us from critically analyzing the assumptions underlying our understanding of citizenship and, ultimately, from identifying the causes and factors that contribute to the failures of civil society, as well as the shortcomings and deficits in the realization of citizenship as a vision based on freedom, equality, and solidarity.

Thus, the textbook clarifies the values associated with democratic citizenship, while also highlighting the potential of the feminist ethics of care as an analytical, evaluative-critical, and applicative tool for understanding and examining the concept of citizenship and the practice of citizenship as a caring practice, and as the practice of caring for a good life in civil society.

A peer-reviewed collection of contributions from the 6th year of the international scientific conference for doctoral students, which took place on March 19, 2021 (online via MS Teams).

Doctoral studies, as the highest level of higher education, prepare students interested in further education to acquire new knowledge and creatively apply it in their future scientific work. Students of doctoral studies actively participate in obtaining new, original scientific results and thus contribute to the development of scientific knowledge in their field.

Doctoral studies play a crucial role in educating top experts. From this perspective, we consider it essential to emphasize creativity and originality in research work, the development of critical thinking, the ability to discuss specific professional problems in broader contexts, and the ability to present achieved results. The Faculty of Public Administration at P.J. Šafárik University in Košice also created space for such professional discussions and presentations of achieved results by organizing the 6th annual scientific conference "Theory and Practice of Public Administration," which took place on March 19, 2021. Public administration is an integral part of every democratic state, influencing each of our lives; therefore, discussing its current issues and familiarizing ourselves with new solutions is necessary. The scientific conference was attended by 33 participants from the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia. The contributions presented focused on current public administration issues from legal, economic, social, and political perspectives.
