Učebné texty Psychológia v medicíne prezentujú základné poznatky o správaní sa a prežívaní človeka nielen v chorobe, približujú psychodiagnostické postupy a psychoterapeutickú liečbu pacientov. Podstatnou súčasťou práce je kapitola, ktorá pojednáva o lekárskej psychológii. Táto časť práce poukazuje na význam komunikácie a interakcie medzi lekárom a pacientom a nutnosť zohľadnenia významných vzťahových aspektov medzi nimi. Kapitola sa ďalej venuje psychosomatickému rozmeru vybraných chorôb v kontexte rôznych medicínskych odborov. Zároveň je analyzovaná psychologická problematika pacientov s telesným, zmyslovým postihnutím a duševne zaostalých osôb, záver učebnice predstavuje opis špecifík práce s detským pacientom. Pomocou týchto učebných textov si študenti medicíny majú osvojiť základné psychologické poznatky, získať vedomosti o efektívnej komunikácii s pacientmi, príbuznými a ostatným zdravotníckym personálom, tvorivo pristupovať k riešeniu problémov pri práci. Zároveň práca zdôrazňuje potrebu duševnej hygieny a starostlivosti o seba, ktorá je v práci lekára nevyhnutná.

The scientific monograph is the output of the Care4Youth project, which aimed to map the current system of care for adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems (EBP) in Slovakia. It captures what the care system is and what its possible shortcomings are from the perspective of all those affected (adolescents with problems, their parents, care providers and other institutions involved).

It also looks at the trajectory of adolescents with EBP in the care system, i.e. when and how adolescents with problems enter and leave the care system, or pass from one type of care to another and what impact different trajectories have on them.

Last but not least, the aim of the monograph was to provide expert information on what are the risk and protective factors that will affect their success in the care system or, conversely, that threaten them. All this in order to support the proposal for improvements in the care system that would benefit all stakeholders.

Venuje sa vybraným vrodeným (ako napr. vrodené anomálie obličiek a močových ciest) ako aj získaným ochoreniam obličiek (infekcie močových ciest, nefrotický syndróm, hemolyticko-uremický syndróm a ďalšie), ktoré sú opísané komplexne od epidemiológie, patofyziológie, cez klinický obraz, diagnostiku až po liečbu a prognózu. In the context of the deteriorating state of adolescent mental health, it is extremely important to optimize the existing mental health care system in Slovakia. There is still little comprehensive and coherent information about the functioning of the system and the process of providing assistance within professional care, its shortcomings or suggestions for improvement. This is not possible without a deep knowledge of the perspective and experiences of adolescents with mental problems themselves. The aim of this publication is therefore to present adolescents' views on the professional assistance provided as a result of experienced mental problems within the existing care system in Slovakia.

The findings from a qualitative study that focused on the views of young people themselves are presented. The chapters of the monograph capture their views on the perception of mental health problems in society, their experiences with identifying emerging problems and seeking professional help, and their experiences with the care process itself and its forms. They also capture their overall experience with both care and care providers, as well as with leaving care and its impacts in various areas. Finally, a view is presented of possible recommendations that could improve the mental health care provided from the adolescents' perspective.

This publication is intended primarily for all professionals working with adolescents with mental health problems in all branches of care, teachers and other educational staff who are in contact with them every day at school, and last but not least, all competent policy makers who care about the mental health of adolescents and have the power to improve the care provided to them.

The textbook contains 11 chapters focusing on the microscopic anatomy of the head and neck region, with an emphasis on the oral and nasal cavities, skull bones and their development, and the detailed microscopic structure of teeth and their development. One chapter is dedicated to dentition from the perspective of the clinical significance of understanding tooth structure and development. The textbook includes chapters on the microscopic anatomy of organs that are functionally important for the head region, such as the vascular, lymphatic, endocrine, and nervous systems. The textbook is linked to an atlas, has a total of 490 pages, and features 300 original microphotographs using common histological stains, histochemical, immunohistochemical, and impregnation methods.

The textbook was created with the support of the KEGA project 019UPJŠ-4/2016.

Kniha „DIABETICKÁ NOHA Z POHĽADU CIEVNEHO CHIRURGA“ obsahuje 14 kapitol. Pojednáva o syndróme diabetickej nohy z multidisciplinárneho pohľadu viacerých odborníkov: angiochirurga, diabetológa, chirurga, podiatra, röntgenológa, neurológa a algeziológa. Úvodné kapitoly majú charakter propedeutiky, čo má taktiež význam aj pre pregraduálnu výchovu. Nasledujúce kapitoly sa zaoberajú vznikom syndrómu, výskytom, jeho diagnostikou, terapeutickými postupmi, pridruženými postihnutiami neurologického charakteru, starostlivosťou podiatra a algeziológa pri pretrvávaní bolestí. Ďalšie časti sú vyhradené chirurgickej a endovaskulárnej liečbe tepien cestou cievneho chirurga a intervenčných angiológov. Predmet Lekárska biochémia plní v medicínskom štúdiu nezastupiteľnú úlohu, naučiť študentov vnímať prirodzené, fyziologické, ako aj chorobné procesy v organizme ako deje odohrávajúce sa na molekulovej úrovni. Na rozlíšenie patologických pochodov od normálnych je potrebné zvládnuť a pochopiť zmysel obrovského množstva biochemických reakcií prebiehajúcich v bunke (bunkový metabolizmus). Osvojenie si týchto faktov je hlavným cieľom predmetu Lekárska biochémia, ktorého zvládnutie je dobrým základom pre štúdium patobiochémie, fyziológie a klinickej biochémie, ako aj mnohých ďalších odborných predmetov medicínskeho štúdia. Pre lepšie zvládnutie a pochopenie biochemických procesov sme pre študentov pripravili vysokoškolskú učebnicu „Lekárska biochémia – Semináre“, ktorá poskytuje študentom okrem teoretických úvodov aj prehľadné schémy procesov a mnoho otázok, vypracovanie ktorých by malo študentom uľahčiť prípravu na skúšku.

In our new electronic textbook, FUNDAMENTALS OF HISTOLOGY II – Textbook and Atlas of Microscopic Anatomy of Organs, we present students and the professional public with essential information about the microscopic structure of organs, accompanied by extensive visual documentation of organ structures and clear legends for the microphotographs.

All histological specimens come from the archive of the Institute of Histology and Embryology, are used in practical exercises, and are also included in teaching presentations. The electronic textbook is intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students of general medicine and dentistry at medical faculties, as well as for students of veterinary medicine and pharmacy, and biology students at faculties of natural sciences.

The textbook is designed so that students can find clear explanations of most medical terms and also reinforce their knowledge of professional terminology in Latin. An advantage of the electronic textbook is the ability to enlarge microscopic photographs, allowing detailed observation of structures without any qualitative loss of the viewed image. The microphotographs used in the atlas were taken with the following equipment: Zeiss Promicra and Olympus BX50 with a Canon EOS 2000D digital camera and QP Industrial 3.2 software.
