Vysokoškolské učebné texty sú zamerané na najčastejších profesionálnych respiračných ochorení, ktoré sú na Slovensku i v ostatných krajinách Európskej únie treťou najčastejšou skupinou ochorení súvisiacich s pracovnou expozíciou. Poškodenie dýchacieho traktu môže mať prechodný, ale aj trvalý a často klinicky a prognosticky závažný charakter. Publikácia sa venuje základným skupinám ochorení – intersticiálne ochorenia pľúc, alergické ochorenia a nádorové ochorenia.  Jednotlivé kapitoly podrobne približujú etiopatogenézu ochorení, klinický obraz, diagnostické metódy a diferenciálnu diagnostiku. Záverečná kapitola upriamuje pozornosť na vyšetrovacie metódy v pracovnom lekárstve. V jej prvej časti sú rozpracované funkčné vyšetrovacie metódy dýchacieho systému. Druhá časť sa venuje zobrazovacím vyšetrovacím metódam s názornou obrazovou dokumentáciou najčastejšie hlásených pneumokonióz.

It was determined that a study book on psychology for medical students was required. Presented study book Psychology in Medicine gives students a fundamental insight into patients´ behaviour in general, and demonstrates the role of psychology in relieving health concerns in particular. It includes topics of medical psychology and clinical psychology that are applied in health care. The chapters address the basic principles of human behaviour, communication between patients and physicians, personality psychology, psychodiagnostic techniques, psychotherapy treatment, abnormal psychology, dealing with stressful events and physical illnesses. The study textbook also emphasises the importance of good mental health and self-care in a doctor's practise. There is a hope that this book will provide both a source of information and inspiration for doctors and all health care professionals.

Predmet Lekárska biochémia plní v medicínskom štúdiu nezastupiteľnú úlohu, naučiť študentov vnímať prirodzené, fyziologické, ako aj chorobné procesy v organizme ako deje odohrávajúce sa na molekulovej úrovni. Na rozlíšenie patologických pochodov od normálnych je potrebné zvládnuť a pochopiť zmysel obrovského množstva biochemických reakcií prebiehajúcich v bunke (bunkový metabolizmus). Osvojenie si týchto faktov je hlavným cieľom predmetu Lekárska biochémia, ktorého zvládnutie je dobrým základom pre štúdium patobiochémie, fyziológie a klinickej biochémie, ako aj mnohých ďalších odborných predmetov medicínskeho štúdia. Pre lepšie zvládnutie a pochopenie biochemických procesov sme pre študentov pripravili vysokoškolskú učebnicu „Lekárska biochémia – Semináre“, ktorá poskytuje študentom okrem teoretických úvodov aj prehľadné schémy procesov a mnoho otázok, vypracovanie ktorých by malo študentom uľahčiť prípravu na skúšku.

Publication called Scientific communication and management of research projects serves as background and teaching material. Its aim is to help university students and researchers develop competencies important for scientific work, such as scientific integrity, critical work with literary sources, management of research projects and scientific communication. Publication is divided into four parts. The first part is focused on the preparation of a research project, where it is important to know the basic ethical principles applied in the research project, but also to be able to critically assess literary sources and process them. In the second part, it provides information on the preparation of research projects and their management, including their financing, from preparation and planning, through initialization to implementation, management, logistics, monitoring, evaluation and termination. The third part pays attention to the preparation, processing and presentation of scientific results in the form of a scientific article, presentation, poster or press release, thus covering not only a professional but also a lay audience. The final fourth part provides information about communication with a scientific journal, whether it is the process of sending, revising an article up to its publication, or the process of assessing scientific work by scientific journal editors in the process of screening and peer review.

Current classification of demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system according to van der Knaap and Valko from 2005 includes 97 congenital and acquired diseases that cause demyelination of the white matter of the brain and spinal cord. Most of these disorders lacks any definitive diagnostic test, so the accurate diagnosis depends on upon clinical symptoms, course of the disease, neurological findings, and the results of neuroimaging and laboratory examinations.

The aim of this textbook is to provide an accurate overview of acquired demyelinating diseases of the CNS, their etiopathogenesis, clinical picture and diagnostic options.

V tejto monografii sa autorka postupne venuje molekulárnym cestám kolorektálnej karcinogenézy, vplyvu jednotlivých genomických aberácií na vznik kolorektálneho karcinómu a hlavne úlohe TGF-b v supresii a taktiež v progresii nádoru. V samostatných kapitolách popisuje úlohy SMAD v procese karcinogenézy a v neposlednom rade sa hlbšie venuje liečbe a hlavne anti TGF-b terapii.

Medical biochemistry is integral parts of basic theoretic knowledge of contemporary graduate at medical faculties. This textbook intends to help the undergraduate students of study branches General Medicine and Dental Medicine for the course of “Medical Biochemistry”. It is structured into 10 chapters concerning several topics: enzymology, cells membrane, metabolism, biochemistry of blood and organs, as well as some parts of clinical biochemistry.

The theoretical knowledge of this subject, which student obtains in the lectures, is verified in laboratory practices and is expanded in seminaries. Our selection of topics makes the text especially appropriate for medical students and managing of problems gives the students satisfactory ground for effective study of medical biochemistry and other related study subjects (e.g. clinical biochemistry, physiology, pathophysiology) in the sense of comprehension of relative continuity and interdependence of biochemical process or their function respectively.

Since the textbook brings only the skeleton survey on the biochemical problematic concerning medicine, students should broaden presented facts by additional study from lectures and/or from other sources. We expect this study literature to serve as a basic study material for mentioned medical study branches for preparation to written part of exam from “Medical Biochemistry”.

Dnes sú to už celé generácie odopierania príležitostí pre napĺňanie potenciálu a storočia diskriminácie, ktoré oberajú deti v marginalizovaných komunitách o detstvo tak ako ho poznáme my ostatní, ktorí sme mali viac „šťastia“. Tak, ako sa generácie ľudí v marginalizovaných komunitách točia v kruhu chudoby, z ktorého niet ľahkej cesty, tak sa aj my točíme v bludnom kruhu hľadania vinníkov a odovzdávania si predsudkov a stereotypov založených na mylných predpokladoch, ktoré sú tak zakorenené a samozrejmé, že mnohých ľudí ani nenapadne o nich pochybovať, spochybňovať ich logiku, či sa snažiť ich vyvracať. Spoločnosť na základe vlastných ideálov s ľahkosťou súdi matky či otcov, že nie sú dosť dobrí. Omnoho ťažšia cesta je však snažiť sa pochopiť, čo im v tom bráni. Povedať, že za stratené detstvo detí v marginalizovaných komunitách môžu rodičia, je príliš zjednodušené a nezohľadňuje to omnoho širší kontext a súvislosti. A práve vplyv tohoto kontextu na raný vývin a hľadanie súvislostí je naším cieľom. Nielen preto, že si uvedomujeme potrebu búrať stereotypy a meniť spoločenský diskurz, no najmä preto, aby sme vedeli priniesť dôkazy, na základe ktorých bude možné tvoriť politiky, smerovať intervencie a pomôcť tak ďalším generáciám detí dosiahnuť na príležitosti, ktoré im umožnia naplniť svoj plný potenciál.

The publication "Respiratory Medicine and Tuberculosis—Selected Chapters" is an anticipated study material intended for medical students at medical faculties and can also serve as supplementary literature in the framework of postgraduate education for specialist doctors. This book adds topics such as Sleep Breathing Disorders and Respiratory Failure to standard pneumology topics like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, pneumonia, interstitial diseases, and tuberculosis. These topics are often mentioned only marginally in pneumological publications and within internal diseases. A significant contribution is the comprehensively processed chapter on Cor pulmonale chronicum, which connects several clinical fields including pneumology, internal medicine, and cardiology. We believe that the prepared publication will find favor among readers and will be beneficial in educating students and practitioners.
