A total of 49 full-time doctoral students will present the results of their scientific research work, of which 21 doctoral students in the section of medical and natural sciences (Faculty of Medicine/Faculty of Science) and 28 doctoral students in the section of social sciences and humanities (Faculty of Law/Faculty of Public Administration/Faculty of Arts).

Its goal is to present some lesser-known vascular diseases, or clinical conditions requiring rapid diagnosis. The text analyzes diseases occurring less frequently in clinical practice, such as aortitis, vascular malformations, peripheral arteriovenous malformations, pelvic venous diseases, and Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome. The textbook also addresses conditions that require rapid diagnosis, such as acute mesenteric ischemia and infectious aortitis. Chcem upozorniť, že príručka nie je manuálom záväzných štandardných postupov. Je odporučením a zdrojom informácií, ktoré autori získali z literárnych zdrojov a svojich praktických skúseností, ktoré treba konfrontovať so súčasnými poznatkami medicíny založenej na dôkazoch a záväznými odbornými odporučeniami. Autori nenesú právnu zodpovednosť za nimi poskytované informácie a odporučené dávky liekov. Nemožno vylúčiť chybu v ich interpretácii alebo názore, prípadne tlačovú chybu, pretože príručka nie je recenzovaná a jednotlivé kapitoly neboli oponentované špecialistami, expertmi. A nakoniec trochu filozofie. Postup a liečba sa stáva správnou až vtedy, keď dosiahne požadovaný výsledok, v našom prípade taký stav zdravia, ktorý zabezpečí čo najlepšiu kvalitu života našich pacientov. Každý pacient, choroba, stav sú jedinečné, v neustálom vývoji, plné objektívnych a subjektívnych vzájomných interakcií, ktoré nás musia nútiť prehodnocovať naše postupy, prístupy a liečbu. Verím, že príručka pomôže pri rýchlej orientácii a rozhodovaní v týchto situáciách, keď je každá pomoc dobrá.

Monovízia bola bežne používaná stratégia, ktorá na dosiahnutie videnia do diaľky a do blízkosti využívala neuroadaptáciu pomocou implantácie monofokálnych IOL. Dominantné oko sa zvyčajne zameriavalo na videnie do diaľky a nedominantné oko na videnie na blízko. Tradične sa úplné monovízne videnie zameriavalo na dosiahnutie zamýšľanej krátkozrakosti −2,5 D v nedominantnom oku.

Cieľom tejto vedeckej monografie bolo predstaviť vedeckej komunite novú, doteraz nepublikovanú metódu liečby. Hlavným cieľom bolo po obojstrannej plánovanej očnej operácii novou kombináciou IOL dosiahnuť optimálnu ZO a nezávislosť od okuliarov v každodenných bežných činnostiach.

Súhrnne, novinkou v našom prístupe, ktorý sme nazvali „rozšírená monovízia“, bolo použitie rotačne asymetrickej bifokálnej EDOF IOL s nízkou adíciou v nedominantnom oku a cieľovou refrakciou -1,25 D v kombinácii s monofokálnou asférickou IOL v dominantnom oku (cieľová refrakcia bola v tomto prípade emetropia).

The authors address the current view on the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes mellitus, while the following sections are devoted to classification, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and epidemiology of diabetes. The work provides insights into outpatient therapeutic management of patients by specialists and during hospitalisation for acute complications of diabetes, taking into account the latest recommendations from the last two years. Separate chapters are devoted to the management of associated and concomitant diseases, such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, or complications of diabetes, including cardiovascular complications, neuropathy, nephropathy, and ocular complications. The work also discusses the issue of diabetes mellitus in pregnancy, including gestational diabetes mellitus. A special chapter, written by a co-author, is devoted to the issue of osteoporosis in patients with diabetes mellitus.

„Pracovný zošit z anatómie“ je určený pre výučbu študentov nelekárskych bakalárskych odborov ako doplnkový študijný materiál. Z dôvodu, že študenti uvedených odborov nemajú možnosť kontaktu s reálnymi anatomickými štruktúrami je pre nich výučba predmetu anatómie neatraktívna. Veríme, že predkladaný pracovný zošit so svojimi ilustráciami anatomických štruktúr umožní študentom aktívnejšie sa zapojiť do vyučovacieho procesu, čím sa pre nich predmet anatómie stane prístupnejší a atraktívnejší.
