The topic that the students focused on in The proceedings of the XVIIIth edition of the Student Symposium on International and European Law held on November 15, 2024 was centered around the legacy of the 105th anniversary of the Paris Peace Conference. The proceedings, which contain the students' contributions, reflect the pivotal role of this conference in shaping post-war geopolitical stability and redefining relations between states. The expert analyses included in the proceedings focus on the conditions that were intended to ensure lasting peace, yet also created controversial aspects that led to disputes and laid the foundation for future tensions. The students also addressed the impact of the conference's decisions on political and social structures that significantly influenced global development in the 20th century. In addition to the declared outcomes, the students also expressed, in written form within the proceedings, the need to strengthen international cooperation and establish institutions for the prevention of military conflicts, a need that remains relevant today, as these decisions continue to shape the dynamics of contemporary international relations.

The Proceedings of the International Scientific Symposium "LA W-BUSINESS-ECONOMICS XII" is a collection of scientific works by authors participating in the symposium of the same name. The publication focuses primarily on the area of representation in private law, related pai1ies in corporate and bankruptcy law, and current issues of legal regulation of artificial intelligence.

The authors of indivídua! contributions are erudite experts from various branches of law. The collection of scientific papers is a complete work in the form of a collection, with an overlap into private and public law sectors.

Readers are presented with scientific outputs from authors from the Slovak legal environment, as well as from foreign authors. Several authors' paper provide a European legal perspective or an international comparative perspective.

On November 28, 2025, the Department of Commercial Law and Economic Law, in cooperation with the Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law of the Faculty of Law at UPJŠ in Košice, organized the 10th anniversary student symposium focused on commercial law, labor law, and IT law. The symposium, entitled "Decision-making practice of judicial authorities in private law II," built on the success of the previous year and once again provided students with an opportunity to showcase their analytical skills and legal creativity. The symposium was prepared as part of the APVV-23-0331 scientific project "Integration of the Capital Markets Union: Changes in Corporate Financing and the Rescue of Commercial Companies in Financial Difficulties."

Alexander Bröstl - Marta Breichová Lapčáková (eds.)

Under the auspices of the Institute of Legal Theory of Gustav Radbruch and the Slovak Section of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR), a 3D flash conference was held on May 16, 2019, at the Faculty of Law of UPJŠ in Košice. This event was primarily dedicated to the upcoming 29th World Congress of IVR in Lucerne, Switzerland. In line with the main theme of the congress, the conference focused on "Dignity, Democracy, Diversity." At the time of the conference, it was clear that the number of participants at the world congress would significantly exceed 1,000, with discussions taking place in 151 special workshops and 28 working groups.

During the congress, a round table was also announced featuring Professor Brian Tamanaha, recipient of the IVR award for best book for "Realistic Theory of Law" (Cambridge 2017), a meeting regarding the IVR Encyclopedia, a panel on academic freedom issues, and a gathering of chairs from national sections of IVR.
