The collection contains contributions presented at the international conference held on April 1^st - 3^rd 2014 in Smolenice, organized by Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice in cooperation with the Institute of State and Law of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Institute of State and Law of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Authors are high-profile Slovak and Czech scholars in the field of private law and company law, as well as representatives of new generation of young researchers. Contributions focus on contemporary issues in the field of company law, in particular theoretical basis of corporations, groups of companies, doctrine of abuse of rights, reflective loss and new tendencies in corporate law in foreign legal orders. The first part of the contributions presented at the conference have been already published in the special issue of the theoretical magazine Právny Obzor n. 4/2014.

V súčasnosti, v modernom 21. storočí však už máme omnoho zložitejšiu spoločnosť, akou bola tá staroveká. Vyžaduje si právnu úpravu rôznych typov kúpnej zmluvy, kde síce zen základný znak platí, je ho však potrebné bližšie špecifikovať a prostú vetu "ja predám, ty kúpiš" je potrebné doplniť aj o podmienky "ako, kde, kedy, za akých podmienok?" To všetko je úlohou moderného občianskeho práva. Súčasná rekodifikácia občianskeho práva v niektorých európskych krajinách už prebehla, u nás práve prebieha. Je preto dôležité vedieť sa stretnúť na konferenciách s kolegami z týchto krajín a vymeniť si poznatky, aby sme diskutovali o ich skúsenostiach, zlého sa vyvarovali a dobré akceptovali, či upravili podľa našich podmienok.
Tento zborník je výstupnou publikáciu z konferencie, ktorá sa konala v dňoch 26. a 27. septembra 2014 v Košiciach. Bola to už druhá konferencia s účasťou najvýznamnejších právnych romanistov, právnych historikov i civilistov z domova i zo zahraničia. Zborník je výsledkom unikátnej spolupráce odborníkov z viacerých oblastí právnej vedy. Verím, že publikované výstupy pomôžu spoznať inštitút kúpnej zmluvy zo všetkých jeho stránok a stanú sa inšpiráciou pre odborníkov i laikov.

The textbook entitled Political Systems of the BRICS States is published as an output of the KEGA 014UPJŠ-4/2020 Innovative Model of Education Leading to Active Citizenship as a Prevention of the Rise of Political Extremism among Students. The aim of the given publication is to present the basic principles of the political systems of the BRICS bloc states and to provide the reader with the nature and character of the bloc's functioning.

The textbook consists of an introduction and five further chapters. All sections are written in Slovak. The individual chapters focus primarily on characterizing the historical development of the BRICS states, the evolution of their constitutionalism, public administration, and on defining the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of power

The individual chapters describe the political systems of the states: Brazil, the Russian Federation, India, China, and South Africa. The introductory chapter of the textbook contains the characteristics of the development and formation of the bloc, as well as information on the cooperation among the BRICS members.

Proceedings of the XIVth Student Symposium on International Law and European Law.

For the XIV Year of Student Symposium on International Law and European Law under the topic „Artificial Intelligence from the Perspective of Law“, students of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Science prepared several papers regarding current questions related to the ongoing development of the artificial intelligence. From the legal point of view, the papers regard the importance of the artificial intelligence in human activities in space, its impact on fundamental rights, development of new human rights in relation to its application in healthcare and nursing care as well as personal data protection while making use of the artificial intelligence.

Apart from the papers concerning the artificial intelligence from the legal perspective, two of the papers regard the artificial intelligence from the scientific perspective, explaining the importance of the artificial intelligence in localization in indoor environment as well as its importance in prediction of healthcare costs.

Recenzovaný zborník vedeckých prác z medzinárodnej vedeckej konferencie Košické dni súkromného práva IV., ktorá sa konala v dňoch 15. až 17. júna 2022, je čiastkovým výstupom riešenia grantovej úlohy projektu schváleného Vedeckou grantovou agentúrou Ministerstva školstva, vedy, výskumu a športu Slovenskej republiky a Slovenskej akadémie vied pod registračným číslom 1/0765/20 s názvom „Ochrana ľudských hodnôt v súkromnom práve v kontexte moderných trendov a prebiehajúcej rekodifikácie súkromného práva“.

Predkladaný zborník vedeckých prác je výstupom zo 4. ročníka medzinárodnej vedeckej konferencie Košické dni súkromného práva IV. organizovanej Katedrou občianskeho práva, Právnickej fakulty UPJŠ v Košiciach. Publikačné výstupy autorov sú tematicky orientované najmä na výskumný projekt VEGA č. 1/0765/20 "Ochrana ľudských hodnôt v súkromnom práve v kontexte moderných trendov a prebiehajúcej rekodifikácie súkromného práva" riešený organizátormi konferencie. Jednotlivé príspevky sú rozdelené do troch sekcií – občianske právo hmotné, civilné právo procesné, právo duševného vlastníctva. Rozdelenie sekcií reflektuje na jednotlivé výskumné oblasti vymedzené v rámci projektu.

The collection of contributions from the VII. Student Symposium on Commercial Law and Labor Law held on December 5, 2019, at the Faculty of Law of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice

The theme of this year's symposium provided students with the opportunity to choose between addressing issues related to commercial law or focusing on labor law aspects concerning the position of members of the governing bodies of commercial companies, based on an analysis of legal regulations and case law.

The creative exploration of commercial law questions particularly related to areas such as the manner of acting on behalf of a commercial company, the liability of the de facto statutory body of a commercial company, information obligations of the statutory body towards its shareholders, and the remuneration for serving as a member of the board of directors of a joint-stock company. It also addressed the liability of the statutory body for the insolvency of the company and the enforcement of non-competition clauses concerning managing directors of limited liability companies.

The connection between commercial law and labor law was directed towards a legal analysis of personal data protection related to health and its misuse by members of the governing bodies of commercial companies, as well as the legitimacy of concurrently holding a position (as a member) in a statutory body with an employment relationship, and the legal status of senior employees, particularly concerning their duties and responsibilities for ensuring employee health through creating healthy working conditions.

Priemyselnej revolúcii sa nemožno vyhnúť, ani sa pred ňou skryť, súčasne je však rovnako nesprávne vidieť ju iba v sivých farbách. Buďme optimistickí. Informačný vek môže znamenať aj 6 6 znižovanie rozsahu pracovného času, snáď širší čas pre rodinu a medziľudské vzťahy či celkové zvýšenie ekonomického prepychu jednotlivca. Informačný vek zoberie množstvo pracovných príležitostí, ale ďalšie priehrštie položí na stôl, avšak zväčša iba pre vzdelaných. Veda a výskum budú pre celkový hospodársky rozvoj ešte dôležitejšie než dnes. Buďme pripravení.

Ambíciou tejto monografie nie je a ani nemôže byť poskytnúť vyčerpávajúcu odpoveď na vyššie načrtnuté polemiky. Jej cieľom je podnietiť širšiu vedeckú diskusiu najmä o problematike ochrany duševného zdravia v korelácii s nástupom informačného veku. Predmetom skúmania je ochrana jednotlivca – zamestnanca, ktorý sa musí adaptovať na nové technologické prostredie a nároky s ním spojené. Monografia predstavuje ucelený výstup autorov, ktorí v ostatných dvoch rokov publikovali v rámci grantovej APVV-16-0002 Duševné zdravie na pracovisku a posudzovanie zdravotnej spôsobilosti zamestnanca na obdobné témy. Autori veria, že aj vďaka označenému grantu APVV, budú v ďalších rokoch na predmetnú tému nadväzovať. Čo je však najdôležitejšie veríme, že jej obsah zaujme vás, čitateľov.

V čase od vydania učebnice Správneho práva procesného, osobitnej časti, boli niektoré právne predpisy v oblasti správneho práva procesného novelizované a boli prijaté nové právne predpisy. Vzhľadom na tieto zmeny, najmä v súvislosti s účinnosťou Správneho súdneho poriadku, ako aj s ohľadom na to, že sa učebnica osvedčila, autorský kolektív pristúpil k jej doplneniu a aktualizácii (právny stav k 1. 10. 2017).

Collection of contributions from the international scientific conference of PhD. students and young researchers was created as part of the international scientific conference of PhD. students and young researchers entitled "Law without borders" held on April 27, 2023 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice in connection with the solution of a scientific project entitled "Extraterritorial effects of foreign administrative decisions in the conditions of the European Union" supported by the Grant of the Scientific Grant Agency under no. 01/187/2022.

The aim of the mentioned project is the scientific examination of the extraterritorial impact of administrative decisions in the conditiions of the European Union, in order to determine and subsequently assess the necessity, as well as the extent of harmonization of the legal regulation of the member states of the European Union, based on the growing need to increase the level of free movement of administrative decisions within the European Union.

As part of the research project, an international scientific conference of PhD. students and young researchers was held entitled "Law without borders". PhD. students and young researchers were not only from Slovak republic but also from foreign universities. The main goal of the conference was to emphasize the increasing globalization of law, as a result of which it is no longer possible to perceive national law in isolation, but in correlation with the legal systems of other states, or with the right of transnational, or international organizations, as well as obligations arising for individual states from concluded international agreements. Individual sections and blocks of the conference also corresponded to this goal, within which not only knowledge from positive-legal disciplines, but also knowledge of a theoretical-legal and historical-legal nature was heard.

Vysokoškolská učebnica komplexne a systematicky objasňuje právne aspekty organizácie a fungovania verejnej správy na Slovensku s dôrazom na medzinárodný kontext problematiky. Analyzuje princípy činnosti a organizácie verejnej správy, koncepcie verejnej správy (good administration, public management), požiadavky na kvalitu vo verejnej správe, právne postavenie zamestnancov v štátnej službe. Objasňuje administratívne aspekty ochrany základných práv a slobôd (verejné subjektívne práva, správne trestanie, vlastnícke právo), a to aj v kontexte judikatúry Európskeho súdu pre ľudské práva. Osobitná časť je venovaná vzťahu slovenského správneho práva a európskeho správneho práva. Učebnica je určená predovšetkým pre výučbu na právnických fakultách, no využijú ju aj študenti fakúlt verejnej správy a právna prax.
