Slovak for Dentists is a textbook intended for international dental students preparing to communicate professionally in Slovak in a real dental environment. The second, expanded and revised edition is the result of several years of practical use and feedback from students. In terms of content and structure, the textbook focuses on developing all language skills, with particular emphasis on understanding spoken language and oral communication in dentist–patient interactions. The textbook contains 14 lessons, including two review test lessons, as well as a Slovak–English dictionary, an answer key, and six appendices. Compared to the first edition, this version includes updated dialogues in audio format, new texts, revised exercises, and a redesigned layout. The vocabulary is specifically focused on the field of dentistry and the most frequent communication situations in a dental office. The textbook reflects different levels of students’ Slovak language proficiency and also offers additional texts for more advanced learners. The lessons include grammar boxes with practical explanations for learners of Slovak as a foreign language. The publication is primarily intended for classroom use but also allows for effective self-study. The audio-exercise workbook “Pán doktor, rozumiete po slovensky?”is a follow-up to the textbook “Pán doktor, hovoríte po slovensky?” (Madárová et al.)and is intended for international students of Slovak as a foreign language in the medical environment.
This workbook provides the students with an opportunity to practise and enhance mostly their listening skills and pronunciation through various short dialogues between doctors and patients in the Slovak language. Dialogues contain the vocabulary used in the textbook Pán doktor, hovoríte po slovensky?. Students are encouraged to build their confidence in speaking Slovak by practising these dialogues in the new workbook.
The audio-exercise workbook is comprised of 16 units. Each unit offers short dialogues and recordings
A number of dialogues enable its wide use for self-studying while the most frequent phrases related primarily to body parts, signs and symptoms of illnesses, diseases or various medical conditions are practised in different contexts in a variety of exercises.
Original illustrations enable students to understand dialogues more easily and the correct answers of the exercises and the scripts of the recordings can be found in the Answer key at the end of the workbook.

The profession of nursing and the development of the field of nursing care are influenced by international, societal, political, social, and cultural conditions. Autorka vychází z pedagogické zkušenosti, že pro zapamatování a schopnost opětného aktivního používání dané slovní zásoby je zapotřebí, aby se studenti setkávali s touto slovní zásobou v dalších textových (či jen větných) kontextech a byli vyzýváni ji na základě různých cvičení takto používat.
Cvičení mohou zahrnovat: a) doplňování chybějícího slova ve větě, b) určování synonymního výrazu (slova i fráze) ve větě, c) popis určitého jevu, části těla, postoje apod. na základě perokresby (např. anterior pelvic tilt), d) na základě delší definice určitého fyzioterapeutického jevu určování definovaného slova (cvičí se zároveň schopnost čtení s porozuměním), e) opravování chyby ve větě s fyzioterapeutickou tematikou, f) určování slova mezi několika dalšími, které se od ostatních něčím jasně liší, g) otázky na obsah daných kapitol, h) krátké překlady celých vět, obsahující i důležitou slovesnou frazeologii, nejen termíny substantivní, i) drily na určité vazby či slova (opakování slova v 5–6 minimálních kontextech, studenti jen opakují po učiteli nebo si čtou při samostudiu nahlas, j) na základě doplňkových kratších textů s obsahem příslušné kapitoly nácvik čtení s porozuměním – zodpovídání otázek ano/ne, multiple choice atp.

Even if anatomy of human body has not changed over the time, perfection and precision of surgical practice require precise knowledge of anatomical structures, their location, and topographical relationships. A prospective medical doctor should not rely on knowledge gained by studying models, schemes, and pictures, but should combine two types of learning: visual and didactic. Wide array of the visual learning development, considering vision alone, and a detailed and realistic approach to difficult access to structures of the human body are important precursors that create sufficient and quality knowledge needed for clinical practice and appropriate professional development.
This publication maps all of the clinically significant and difficult approached areas of the head that are not normally prepared for practical exercises in anatomy because of the time and difficulties with the preparation. The colorful, detailed photodocumentation enriched by schemes and followed by procedure guide provides a view of structures until now only poorly documented.
