This teaching guide for instructing students in Internet of Things programming using mathematical modeling and data analysis is intended for mathematics and computer science teachers in elementary and secondary schools, as well as for students training to teach these subjects. It responds to the requirements of the new curriculum reform in Slovakia, which emphasizes a cyclical learning process, the development of data, digital, and mathematical literacy, and the integration of teaching with real-world problems and technologies. The guide is designed in accordance with the methodological framework of design-based research. It contains technological and methodological foundations, as well as a set of proven teaching activities divided into three levels of difficulty. The teaching guide provides teachers with specific instructions, recommendations, and examples of best practices for the meaningful integration of IoT and mathematical modeling into teaching across different educational cycles, creating space for modern, interdisciplinary, and data-driven education.

A total of 49 full-time doctoral students will present the results of their scientific research work, of which 21 doctoral students in the section of medical and natural sciences (Faculty of Medicine/Faculty of Science) and 28 doctoral students in the section of social sciences and humanities (Faculty of Law/Faculty of Public Administration/Faculty of Arts).

The Book of Abstracts of the international conference XLVII Days of Medical Biophysics presents a collection of contributions submitted by the conference participants, showcasing original results of their scientific, research, and educational activities in the fields of clinical biophysics and medical informatics. The volume contains 35 abstracts of scientific lectures, including doctoral presentations, and 18 abstracts of poster contributions. The educational papers address current trends in the application of artificial intelligence and simulation‑based medicine in the modernization of teaching, the integration of biophysics with preclinical and clinical disciplines, and pedagogical principles in medical metrology. The lecture notes "Land Information Systems and Smart Cities" provides a comprehensive overview of geoinformation technologies within the context of public administration and modern land management. The publication systematically explains the principles of Land Information Systems (LIS), their architecture, components, and practical applications. Emphasis is placed on linking GIS technologies with real-world applications in local governments, infrastructure organizations, and the business sector. The text covers the hardware and software equipment of LIS, including modern trends such as cloud computing, open-source solutions, and the integration of artificial intelligence.

Special attention is given to data, which represent a key component of LIS, including an overview of the most important geospatial data products in Slovakia. The publication analyzes WebGIS technologies, map portals, and OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WCS) in detail, which enable the effective accessibility and sharing of geodata. A significant part is also dedicated to the National Infrastructure for Spatial Information (NIPI) and the INSPIRE Directive, ensuring data interoperability at both national and European levels.

The presented text examines the importance and application of physiotherapy within nursing practice, emphasizing the connection between physiotherapeutic interventions and everyday nursing activities. Physiotherapy represents a key component of comprehensive healthcare, supporting the restoration of functional abilities, promoting patient independence, and reducing the risk of complications associated with immobility. In the context of nursing, it plays an irreplaceable role in the prevention of pressure ulcers, contractures, muscle atrophy, and respiratory problems. Cooperation between physiotherapists and nurses enables effective planning and implementation of interventions aimed at supporting patient mobility.  The text highlights the need for close interdisciplinary collaboration among nurses, physiotherapists, and other members of the healthcare team. Physiotherapy in nursing is presented as a process that goes beyond exercise alone—it includes patient and family education, motivation support, training in activities of daily living, and thorough assessment of functional status.

The textbook entitled Selected Vascular Diseases is intended for medical students and physicians who specialize in internal medicine and angiology. Its goal is to present some lesser-known vascular diseases, or clinical conditions requiring rapid diagnosis. The text analyzes diseases occurring less frequently in clinical practice, such as aortitis, vascular malformations, peripheral arteriovenous malformations, pelvic venous diseases, and Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome. The textbook also addresses conditions that require rapid diagnosis, such as acute mesenteric ischemia and infectious aortitis. Within the scope of vasoneuroses, it describes Raynaud's phenomenon and childhood vascular diseases, such as hemangiomas. The text also touches on late complications associated with arteriovenous shunts in patients treated with hemodialysis.

This elektronic material provides practical guidance for determining the structure of organic compounds using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry (MS). The publication is intended primarily for single-discipline undergraduate and interdisciplinary undergraduate students in chemistry as a supplementary material for the course Methods of Structure Determination – Spectroscopic Methods. The text is divided into four parts: NMR, IR, MS, and exercises on combined structural analysis. Each section includes a brief theoretical introduction, practical tips for spectrum interpretation, solved examples, and especially unsolved exercises that allow students to practice analyzing real spectra. The material supports the development of analytical thinking and the ability to unambiguously determine the structure of unknown compounds. The publication was created as a teaching aid for seminars. Its goal is to help students effectively understand the combination of spectroscopic methods and their application in the structural analysis of organic compounds.

V príručke uvádzame staré informácie potvrdené časom a štúdiami a pridávame nové informácie a názory, ktoré čakajú na overenie v čase. Jej rozsah a spracovanie je limitované, a to našimi schopnosťami a vedomosťami, rozsahom v dôsledku technických a finančných možností a cieľom finančnej dostupnosti pre všetkých, ktorí o ňu prejavia záujem. Chcem upozorniť, že príručka nie je manuálom záväzných štandardných postupov. Je odporučením a zdrojom informácií, ktoré autori získali z literárnych zdrojov a svojich praktických skúseností, ktoré treba konfrontovať so súčasnými poznatkami medicíny založenej na dôkazoch a záväznými odbornými odporučeniami. Autori nenesú právnu zodpovednosť za nimi poskytované informácie a odporučené dávky liekov. Nemožno vylúčiť chybu v ich interpretácii alebo názore, prípadne tlačovú chybu, pretože príručka nie je recenzovaná a jednotlivé kapitoly neboli oponentované špecialistami, expertmi. A nakoniec trochu filozofie. Postup a liečba sa stáva správnou až vtedy, keď dosiahne požadovaný výsledok, v našom prípade taký stav zdravia, ktorý zabezpečí čo najlepšiu kvalitu života našich pacientov. Každý pacient, choroba, stav sú jedinečné, v neustálom vývoji, plné objektívnych a subjektívnych vzájomných interakcií, ktoré nás musia nútiť prehodnocovať naše postupy, prístupy a liečbu. Verím, že príručka pomôže pri rýchlej orientácii a rozhodovaní v týchto situáciách, keď je každá pomoc dobrá.

Monovízia bola bežne používaná stratégia, ktorá na dosiahnutie videnia do diaľky a do blízkosti využívala neuroadaptáciu pomocou implantácie monofokálnych IOL. Dominantné oko sa zvyčajne zameriavalo na videnie do diaľky a nedominantné oko na videnie na blízko. Tradične sa úplné monovízne videnie zameriavalo na dosiahnutie zamýšľanej krátkozrakosti −2,5 D v nedominantnom oku.

Cieľom tejto vedeckej monografie bolo predstaviť vedeckej komunite novú, doteraz nepublikovanú metódu liečby. Hlavným cieľom bolo po obojstrannej plánovanej očnej operácii novou kombináciou IOL dosiahnuť optimálnu ZO a nezávislosť od okuliarov v každodenných bežných činnostiach.

Súhrnne, novinkou v našom prístupe, ktorý sme nazvali „rozšírená monovízia“, bolo použitie rotačne asymetrickej bifokálnej EDOF IOL s nízkou adíciou v nedominantnom oku a cieľovou refrakciou -1,25 D v kombinácii s monofokálnou asférickou IOL v dominantnom oku (cieľová refrakcia bola v tomto prípade emetropia).

The authors address the current view on the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes mellitus, while the following sections are devoted to classification, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and epidemiology of diabetes. The work provides insights into outpatient therapeutic management of patients by specialists and during hospitalisation for acute complications of diabetes, taking into account the latest recommendations from the last two years. Separate chapters are devoted to the management of associated and concomitant diseases, such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, or complications of diabetes, including cardiovascular complications, neuropathy, nephropathy, and ocular complications. The work also discusses the issue of diabetes mellitus in pregnancy, including gestational diabetes mellitus. A special chapter, written by a co-author, is devoted to the issue of osteoporosis in patients with diabetes mellitus.
