This learning text deals with heart rhythm disorders. The book is intended for medical students. There are in a simple way characterized bradycardic and tachycardic heart rhythm disorders. The script explains mechanism of arrhythmias, symptoms, diagnostics, and differential diagnostics and treatment. The greatest emphasis is focused on detection of the arrhythmias based on the surface ECG. All arrhythmias are explained by clinical ECG.

In conclusion, there is ECG quiz which consists of 27 clinical ECG records.

Táto publikácia sa zaoberá diagnostikou ochorení a traumatických poškodení pečene, žlčníka, žlčových ciest a pankreasu.

Medzi zobrazovacie diagnostické modality patrí konvenčná rádiológia – rentgen, ultrasonografia - USG, počítačová tomografia - CT a magnetická rezonancia - MR.

Keďže pojednávam o zobrazovacích modalitách, publikácia je obohatená o množstvo obrazovej dokumentácie (vlastné aj internetové zdroje) ktorá názorne ukazuje jednotlivé ochorenia, poškodenia popisovaných orgánov.

Táto publikácia je venovaná všetkým medikom, kolegom, lekárom, či už z oblasti rádiológie, ale aj pre klinikov z radov chirurgov, internistov, či gastroenterológov.

Publikácia je rozdelená na jednotlivé časti podľa orgánov a podčasti podľa zobrazovacej modality a druhov ochorenia.

Behavior, in the slovak language expressed as an intention, belongs to basic mental processes of every individual. In this work I consider it as the basic component of an individual having two sides, outer- and inner side. I present it in the scheme No. 2.

The problem of behavior can not be fully covered, although there is a lot of writing, discussing and experimenting by ancient time.

The work may offer only few comments, approaching maily disorders of behavior. I present the original explanation of these disorders, dividing them on primary and derived ones. Primary disorders create the core of the disorder, derived disorders create a component of other disorders.

My classification of primary disorders is as follows:

1. age dependent disorders of behavior
2. disorders in the dynamical structure and in phases of behavior
3. integrative disorders of behavior, disorders of the will, which is the sign of the developed behavior of the individual.

The work is addresses to everone who is interested in his/her owm behavior, but especially for the Medical faculty and psychiatrists, for students of all our faculties.

The aim of this publication is to present the latest findings of the international study Health Behavior in School-aged Children (HBSC), regarding the health and health-related behavior of school-aged children in Slovakia.After four years, it again brings information on various topics covering physical and mental health, nutritional behavior, leisure-time activities, use of psychoactive substances, within social environment of school-aged children, including family, school and peers. The publication also presents newfindings connected to objectively measured physical fitness of these children. Finally, data about school-aged children with special educational needs are also presented.The findings play an important role in understanding the needs of the new generation of adolescents and are an important source of information for all those who work with them, not only professionals but also parents.Last but not least, they are also beneficial for all stakeholders and institutions who participate in the preparing of policies and strategies focused on supporting the health of school-aged children.

  „Neurochirurgia pre študentov medicíny“ je určená pre študentov lekárskych fakúlt. Základné informácie o neurochirurgii získajú aj študenti príbuzných odborov /zubné lekárstvo/, ale aj absolventi lekárskych fakúlt v začiatkoch svojej klinickej praxe.

Učebný text je rozdelený do desiatich kapitol. Tie sa ďalej delia na podkapitoly.

Prvá kapitola je zameraná na dejiny chirurgie, následne na dejiny neurochirurgie. V tejto kapitole autor pripomína, že operované lebky patria k najstarším dôkazom operačnej činnosti našich predkov. 

Druhá a tretia kapitola  je venovaná diagnostike a základným operačným výkonom.

Pre pochopenie patologicko-fyziologických dejov je potrebné pozorne preštudovať štvrtú kapitolu, v ktorej autor popisuje základné patologické mechanizmy, ktoré pôsobia na povrchu ale aj v hĺbke mozgových tkanív.

Piata kapitola je venovaná závažnej problematike  -  vrodeným chybám mozgu, miechy a ich podporných štruktúr.

Nie menej závažnou problematikou pre neurochirurgov sú nádory CNS,  periférnych nervov, lebky a chrbtice. Tie sú popísané v šiestej kapitole.                 

V siedmej kapitole sú popísané cievne ochorenia CNS: autor popisuje aneuryzmy mozgových ciev, ich diagnostiku a liečbu, ďalej cievne malformácie mozgu, artériovenózne malformácie mozgu a v neposlednom rade spinálne artériovenózne malformácie.

8. kapitola je čo do obsahu najrozsiahlejšia. Prináša informácie o poranení pacientov pri úraze. O ich závažnosti, diagnostike a možnej liečbe – konzervatívnej a chirurgickej.

9. kapitola je venovaná nie menej závažnej problematike, a to degeneratívnym ochoreniam chrbtice.

V 10. kapitole sa autor venuje najnovším metódam liečby chronickej bolesti a epileptochirurgii.

S vývojom endovaskulárnej chirurgie dochádza postupne k rozvoju stentingu ACI. Minimálne invazívny prístup spravil túto metodiku vhodnú pre pacientov s vážnymi konkomitatnými kardiálnymi alebo pľúcnymi ochoreniami. Ďalšou výhodou v porovnaní s chirurgickou liečbou bol lepší prístup k ACI u pacientov po rádioterapii, po predchádzajúcich operáciách na krku, ale aj u pacientov so stenózami blízko lebečnej bázy. Porovnanie CEA vs CAS je zaujímavou a diskutabilnou témou mnohých štúdií. Avšak, aj napriek celosvetovému mohutnému rozvoju endovaskulárnej liečby karotická endarterektómia ostáva zlatým štandardom liečby stenózy ACI u symptomatických aj asymptomatických pacientov.

V tejto monografii by sme radi akcentovali a systematizovali problematiku chirurgickej prevencie CMP z pohľadu cievneho chirurga.

Obsahovo i formou nová učebnica všeobecnej patofyziológie v slovenskom jazyku pre štúdium predmetu Patologická fyziológia pre odbor Všeobecné lekrástvo na lekárskych fakultách na Slovensku resp. v zahraniční. Nadväzuje na pedagogické skúsenosti s výučbou klasickej a molekulárnej patofyziológie a tradíciu vysokoškolských učebníc vydávaných Ústavom patofyziológie Lekárskej fakulty v Košiciach (prvá slovenská učebnica i učebnica Všeobecnej patofyziológie). Učebnica popisuje všetky základné témy z nozológie, etiológie a patogenzéy, ktoré sú tradične  predmetom výučby patofyziológie na lekárskych fakultách v európskom priestore. Prináša najnovšie poznatky štýlom i obsahovo v priamej konfrontácii s obdobnou cudzojazyčnou literatúrou a tp v čitateľsky rovnako atraktívnej prezentačnej forme s početnými obrázkami a tabuľkami.

Učebné texty Psychológia v medicíne prezentujú základné poznatky o správaní sa a prežívaní človeka nielen v chorobe, približujú psychodiagnostické postupy a psychoterapeutickú liečbu pacientov. Podstatnou súčasťou práce je kapitola, ktorá pojednáva o lekárskej psychológii. Táto časť práce poukazuje na význam komunikácie a interakcie medzi lekárom a pacientom a nutnosť zohľadnenia významných vzťahových aspektov medzi nimi. Kapitola sa ďalej venuje psychosomatickému rozmeru vybraných chorôb v kontexte rôznych medicínskych odborov. Zároveň je analyzovaná psychologická problematika pacientov s telesným, zmyslovým postihnutím a duševne zaostalých osôb, záver učebnice predstavuje opis špecifík práce s detským pacientom. Pomocou týchto učebných textov si študenti medicíny majú osvojiť základné psychologické poznatky, získať vedomosti o efektívnej komunikácii s pacientmi, príbuznými a ostatným zdravotníckym personálom, tvorivo pristupovať k riešeniu problémov pri práci. Zároveň práca zdôrazňuje potrebu duševnej hygieny a starostlivosti o seba, ktorá je v práci lekára nevyhnutná.

The aim of this university textbook is to provide a systematically structured teaching text focused on research in health sciences and, at the same time, to offer a practical methodological manual for writing final theses intended for students of medical and non-medical fields of study. The first chapter introduces the topic, maps the historical development of research in medical and non-medical sciences, and explains the concept of evidence-based practice (EBP) in the context of research activities. It also highlights the importance of research for these fields and describes the individual steps, principles, and methodological procedures of scientific work. The second chapter focuses on the basic attributes of research in health sciences, with an emphasis on key definitions, basic research designs, the typology of scientific studies, and the possibilities for using the relevant methodologies. It also includes the interpretation and analytical processing of quantitative data, while the third chapter analogously elaborates on the qualitative research approach. The fourth chapter is devoted to the ethical aspects of scientific research. The fifth chapter focuses on the evaluation of research papers in terms of their quality, structure, content coherence, reliability, and validity. The final sixth chapter provides methodological guidelines for planning, implementing, and processing individual types of final theses, with the aim of offering students practical and clearly structured instructions for their preparation. The publication also includes questions, tasks, and exercises that supplement theoretical knowledge with practical examples. These cases are intended to develop students' ability to design research studies and methodologically correctly prepare final theses.

The interest is focused on vulvar cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, fallopian tube carcinoma, ovarian cancer as well as breast cancer. Due to the range of the issue there are own workplaces ta king care just for the patients with oncogyneco logical diseases. Tieto učebné texty sú určené študentom lekárskych fakúlt, obsahuje základné poznatky z rádiológie.

It was created with the aim of providing healthcare professionals, medical students, and anyone interested in the subject with a clear, practical overview of cardiovascular risk. The book presents a global and national picture of mortality, emphasizes the importance of prevention and screening, and introduces the basic principles of risk assessment. Special attention is paid to risk factors and modifiers that can significantly change a patient's prognosis. For a better understanding of the issue, the reader will also find chapters devoted to clinical conditions, an overview of scoring systems, risk categories, and finally practical examples from clinical practice that link theory with everyday medical reality. Our goal is for this book to be not only an educational tool, but also a practical guide for decision-making in clinical practice.
