Je to potrebné, pretože súčasný trh je zaplavený množstvom nevedeckých, zavádzajúcich tvrdení a stanovísk v tlači, ale tiež v audiovizuálnych médiách, ktoré fytoterapiu diskreditujú. Publikácia predstavuje 3., rozšírené vydanie predchádzajúcej verzie Fytoterapie, ktoré je doplnené o aplikáciu najnovších výskumov a predstavuje výnimočné dielo z pera lekára – fytoterapeutického odborníka.

Jednoduchá, didaktická, plně dostačující, moderní publikace ostravských autorů, která se řadí do „obecné“ chirurgie.

Studentům a začínajícím chirurgům přináší popis teoretických principů základních chirurgických intervencí a výkonů. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou přehledně prezentovány principy operování, příprava pacienta k operačnímu výkonu, příprava operačního týmu, způsoby práce s chirurgickými nástroji, techniky řezů, operačních přístupů a uzávěrů, technické principy provádění punkcí, drénování, kanylování i problematika stomií. 

Publikace je doplněna množstvím schematických obrázků, které názorně ilustrují jednotlivé chirurgické techniky a intervence. Monografie není míněna jako alternativa praktického tréninku, nýbrž jako odrazový můstek ke správnému a pečlivému nácviku těchto technik.

Text je primárně určen studentům medicíny a sleduje schéma obvyklé v přednáškách z lékařské etiky (definice problému, argumenty, legislativa). Text je ovšem psán tak, aby byl srozumitelný i pro širokou veřejnost a byl příspěvkem do celonárodní debaty.

V první kapitole jsou definovány pojmy, se kterými se čtenář v knize setká. Dále se zde dozvíme, že samotné slovo „eutanázie“ je jedním z nejobtížněji definovatelných slov lékařské etiky. Následuje stručný historický exkurz, jehož smyslem je přinést fakta o vývoji v poválečné euroatlantické civilizaci a především o dění v Evropě, neboť jakákoli dobrá etika nezbytně začíná neutrálním a přesným popisem problematiky a znalostí lékařských a historických faktů. Následují kapitoly deskriptivní etiky.

V ČR byly v nedávné době sepsány dva návrhy zákona o tzv. důstojné smrti, a to v roce 2008. Druhý z obou návrhů autor posuzoval, jako člen etické komise Ministerstva zdravotnictví, a byl tedy účasten etického posouzení celé věci. Téma eutanázie je v ČR stále široce diskutováno.

Intervention Program for Supporting Self-Care in Helping Professions: "How Do I Take Care of Myself?" The intervention program "How Do I Take Care of Myself?" was developed as part of the research project APVV14-0921, "Self-Care as a Factor in Coping with the Negative Consequences of Engaging in Helping Professions." Its uniqueness lies in being created based on specific research outputs from the program's authors and project.

In the first chapter, the authors offer insights into the preparation of the intervention program, justifying its theoretical foundations, methods, and specifics of the program participants. They also provide an overview of research on the effectiveness of various intervention programs aimed at reducing the negative consequences of helping and enhancing self-care and other positive effects of engaging in helping professions. Subsequent chapters focus on a detailed analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of the intervention program "How Do I Take Care of Myself?" and its comparison with the effectiveness of other programs, which were differently focused, targeted at different populations of helping professionals, and had different theoretical and practical orientations and foundations. Most of these studies demonstrated positive changes only in isolated cases, due to various methodological shortcomings often related to practical application.

What differentiates the intervention program presented in this monograph is the participation of helping professionals actively practicing in the social field, unlike most intervention programs compiled and validated for students of these professions. The student population, being more accessible to researchers, allows for better methodology, including a larger number of participants, as well as experimental manipulation and group balancing. In the case of participants in the validation of the program "How Do I Take Care of Myself?", it involved practitioners who are engaged in the daily work process and completed training during their work breaks, which placed high demands on balancing their work and personal tasks. We believe that the effects we discovered during the validation of the effectiveness of the presented intervention program were not always clearly mathematically graspable but were evident from individual feedback.

We present the text of this monograph to the professional public with the aim of highlighting the benefits, limitations of the intervention program, as well as inspiring researchers and practitioners to further work in this area.

In the context of the deteriorating state of adolescent mental health, it is extremely important to optimize the existing mental health care system in Slovakia. There is still little comprehensive and coherent information about the functioning of the system and the process of providing assistance within professional care, its shortcomings or suggestions for improvement. This is not possible without a deep knowledge of the perspective and experiences of adolescents with mental problems themselves. The aim of this publication is therefore to present adolescents' views on the professional assistance provided as a result of experienced mental problems within the existing care system in Slovakia.

The findings from a qualitative study that focused on the views of young people themselves are presented. The chapters of the monograph capture their views on the perception of mental health problems in society, their experiences with identifying emerging problems and seeking professional help, and their experiences with the care process itself and its forms. They also capture their overall experience with both care and care providers, as well as with leaving care and its impacts in various areas. Finally, a view is presented of possible recommendations that could improve the mental health care provided from the adolescents' perspective.

This publication is intended primarily for all professionals working with adolescents with mental health problems in all branches of care, teachers and other educational staff who are in contact with them every day at school, and last but not least, all competent policy makers who care about the mental health of adolescents and have the power to improve the care provided to them.

We would like to introduce the study material/textbook Nursing Care Clinical Procedures I, which was developed to cover the curriculum of Nursing Care 1 for medical students. Clinical procedures are an essential component of nursing practice. The textbook contains four main chapters. Each chapter begins with a general explanation of the topic, followed by detailed method description of procedures to help students deliver high - quality care to patients. Some chapters also include appendi xes in order to pick up some special examples from clinical practice. The textbook strongly describes bandages because a carelessly or improperly applied bandage can cause discomfort to the patient, in many cases it may expose the wound to the danger of infection. To the best of wound knowledge, these procedures reflect currently accepted clinical practice and up-to-date information. The textbook can be easily integrated into an educational programme and can be used in the laboratory as well as in clinical practice. During the preparation of this textbook the information, facts, notes, publications, books and literature presented in the references section were also used. The publication include DVD, which is concentrated on applying bandages from head to lower extremity. DVD was developed in cooperation during IRES project. The student can also find additional information to study by following references. The reading level of Nursing Care Clinical Procedures I is designed to be comprehensible to as many students as possible, including those for whom Engl ish is a second language. We hope that this textbook will be useful to all readers. The authors take no personal responsibility for applying this information to a particular clinical practice
situation.

Publikace se věnuje jedné z nejčastějších poruch osobnosti, která výrazně zhoršuje kvalitu života zejména mladým lidem – brání jim ve studiu, v práci i v kontaktu s vrstevníky, v navazování a udržování partnerských vztahů. Porucha se vyznačuje vysokou sebevražedností, labilními vztahy s blízkými lidmi, problémy s udržením zaměstnání a také vysokou psychiatrickou komorbiditou, tj. častým souběžným výskytem dalších psychických potíží.
   
Monografie se zabývá diagnostikou, etiopatogenezí a léčbou této závažné poruchy. Důraz je kladen také na popis komorbidity, diferenciální diagnostiky a na sociální aspekty včetně stigmatizace a sebestigmatizace. Významná část je věnována psychoterapeutickým přístupům k lidem trpícím hraniční poruchou osobnosti a farmakologické léčbě včetně současných algoritmů.

Odborné popisy jsou doplněny četnými kazuistickými příběhy, které názorně ilustrují jak problémy lidí s touto poruchou osobnosti, tak principy psychoterapeutické intervence. Kniha je určena klinickým pracovníkům, zejména psychiatrům a klinickým psychologům, ale také poradenským pracovníkům, kteří se lidem s hraniční poruchou osobnosti věnují diagnosticky, terapeuticky nebo poradensky.

Vzhledem k tomu, že od vydání uběhlo 10 let, objevily se nové klasifikace patologických změn, které by studenti měli znát. Autoři také přihlížejí k cizím textům, převážně k nejnovější americké učebnici Robbins & Cotran: Pathologic basis of disease.Od doby vydání vyšly velké učebnice Patologie prof. MUDr. C. Povýšila, prof. MUDr. I. Šteinera a spoluautorů; trojdílná učebnice Patologie prof. MUDr. J. Zámečníka, Ph.D., a spoluautorů. Obě díla jsou vynikající příručky pro studenty lékařských fakult, oboru všeobecné lékařství, a pro postgraduální vzdělávání. Pro bakalářské obory a také pro studenty zubního lékařství jsou však texty příliš rozsáhlé, studenti se v nich ztrácejí a nejsou schopni text absorbovat a proniknout do něj. Stejně tak by se předkládaná učebnice mohla použít pro rychlé opakování, vzhledem k lepší orientaci v ní. Tato publikace se snaží medicínské termíny nejen uvádět, ale také vysvětlovat, takže studenti nemusejí výrazy hledat ve slovnících a v dalších odborných textech. Autoři používají jednoduché a srozumitelné věty.V učebnici jsou na četných místech tučně zvýrazněna klíčová slova, na která u zkoušky bude zkoušející čekat. Výhodou je také to, že jednosvazkové dílo se může lépe přenášet, a studenti se tak mohou knihou probírat i mimo domov.Publikace může sloužit jako základní učebnice pro studenty zubního lékařství, jako doplňková učebnice pro studenty oboru všeobecné lékařství, ale hlavně pro studenty nelékařských zdravotnických oborů (v určitém omezeném rozsahu) a vyšších odborných zdravotnických škol.

Publication called Scientific communication and management of research projects serves as background and teaching material. Its aim is to help university students and researchers develop competencies important for scientific work, such as scientific integrity, critical work with literary sources, management of research projects and scientific communication. Publication is divided into four parts.

The first part is focused on the preparation of a research project, where it is important to know the basic ethical principles applied in the research project, but also to be able to critically assess literary sources and process them. In the second part, it provides information on the preparation of research projects and their management, including their financing, from preparation and planning, through initialization to implementation, management, logistics, monitoring, evaluation and termination. The third part pays attention to the preparation, processing and presentation of scientific results in the form of a scientific article, presentation, poster or press release, thus covering not only a professional but also a lay audience.

The final fourth part provides information about communication with a scientific journal, whether it is the process of sending, revising an article up to its publication, or the process of assessing scientific work by scientific journal editors in the process of screening and peer review.
