University textbooks include, expand and deepen knowledge in the field of management and marketing. Considering the development of the needs of continuous education and adaptation to changes in cooperation with the provision of effective integration and use of management and marketing in sports industries, this issue is highly topical. Inserting modern trends into university teaching texts creates their "otherness", they are a prerequisite for better understanding, knowledge and the contribution of not only theoretical knowledge, but also significantly contribute to practice itself.

The publication is a useful source of information not only for bachelor's students at the Institute of Physical Education and Sport of the UPJŠ, but also for students of interdisciplinary study fields and specializations.

Researches have shown that even in childhood, movement is not only a tool of prevention, but often also a method of dealing with the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle. From different areas of social life are recorded, as a consequence of this this sedentary life, the vertebrogenic disorders related to hyperkinesia, hyperlordosis and scoliosis which are accompanied by pain and often mean the exclusion of a child from school physical education.

The monograph is a summary of the findings of muscle disbalance and a need to help children and teenagers to have influence to the quality on the correct body holding by preventive exercises that have been verified in practice. It serves as a teaching material to fulfill physical and sports education goals, which emphasize, among other things, the formation and consolidation of habits of proper body holding and compensatory and relaxation exercises.

The presented educational text provides a comprehensive view of the emergence and development of physical culture, physical education, and sports both in our country and worldwide. Its content focuses on acquiring basic concepts and issues related to the history of physical culture.

The text is intended primarily for students of sports disciplines in full-time and external studies, as well as for the general public interested in the historical development of physical culture in our country and abroad. According to Sýkora (1992), physical culture has been a part of societal and personal culture since the dawn of humanity, encompassing all methods and results of enduring human activity aimed at shaping one's physical and motor attributes and abilities.

The first chapter focuses on the analysis of historical sources, their types, and methods for determining facts. In subsequent chapters, we present a chronological overview of the development of various historical periods from the earliest times of human existence to the present, with an emphasis on physical culture.

The final chapter characterizes physical culture in the independent era of Slovakia.
