Tato moderní, přehledná a bohatě ilustrovaná publikace vychází z klinické praxe i z výuky v rámci univerzity, a tvoří tedy kompendium oboru. Od předchozího vydání se objevily nové vědecké poznatky a přibyly nové okolnosti, mimo jiné došlo ke změnám legislativy a byla přijata aktualizace Mezinárodní klasifikace nemocí MKN-10. Celý text knihy byl proto zrevidován, doplněn a zpřesněn.

V třetím vydání přibyla tematika vývoje mozku od embryonálního období a biologicko-vývojové hledisko v kontextu vzniku psychických poruch, nárys jejich diferenciální diagnostiky a shrnutí základních postupů farmakoterapie vybraných duševních onemocnění. Významně byla rozšířena kapitola věnovaná akutním stavům.

Znalost základů psychopatologie patří k nepostradatelným předpokladům pro práci ve všech pomáhajících profesích, tj. u psychologů, sociálních pracovníků, zdravotníků, pedagogů a dalších, a také pro studium příslušných oborů. Může však být k užitku i zájemcům z řad širší veřejnosti.

Nové vydanie knihy z nakladateľstva SAP Press je jednou z najobľúbenejších učebníc anatómie na Slovensku a prakticky jediným kompexným zdrojom v slovenčine. Kniha je používaná predovšetkým na Lekárskej fakulte Univerzity Komenského v Bratislave a vychádza z profesionálnych skúseností autorov - Binovský, Holomáňová, Osvaldová, Ruttkay-Nedecká a ďalších. Ide o prvý diel dvojdielnej edície s obrázkami. Kniha je stručná a prehľadná a umožňuje pochopiť fukciu príslušného orgánu, orgánovej sústavy ako aj celku.

Students studying biology as the single-subject or as a part of two-subject programs on various faculties of sciences are often encountered with the problem, how to limit the topics in the subject Human anatomy. This List of anatomical terms is aiming to help the non-medical students to get acquainted with the extensive anatomical nomenclature and to optimize the number of anatomical terms, which should be memorized, to preserve the sufficient capacity of the students for another knowledge of the field of systemic, comparative, developmental and functional anatomy. The emphasis on the arrangement of individual anatomical terms into the logical units supports the hierarchical view on the architecture of the human body.

Despite the common opinion, anatomical nomenclature represents a framework, which is during the further study gradually enveloped with the knowledge of more or less related disciplines concerning with the human body and its biological processes. Moreover, besides this ambition, which exceeds the area of the human anatomy, this List of anatomical terms continues the long tradition with respect to the valid Latin and Slovak anatomical terminology.

The concept of medical ethics is interpreted as both applied and professional ethics. As a bioethical discipline, it consists of three normative parts: biogenesis, biotherapy, and thanatology. From an ethical perspective, medicine is part of clinical bioethics; however, at the current stage, “evidence-based ethics” is still lacking.

In the context of standardizing health care, there is an excessive development of certain components of bioethics (such as ethical codes and the concept of patient autonomy), but also a reduction, especially of its clinical component (such as communication, thanatology, euthanasia, dysthanasia, and futile treatment). Current legislative efforts are leading to a reduction in the rights of health care workers, particularly in terms of corporate autonomy.

The fundamental task of medical ethics is the cultivation of medical professionalism, which is defined as the professional alignment of expert, ethical, and legal reasoning, and as a starting point for thinking in terms of values, with reflection on the bioethical space in clinical and professional practice.

Since society declares health as its priority, this priority should positively influence the entire health care system, and its basic idea should be a health care system based on a humanistic ethical paradigm with social and professional application.

Neurologické vedy dosiahli za posledných dvadsať rokov  významný pokrok tak v objasnení patologických procesov a mechanizmov rozvoja mnohých neurologických ochorení, ako aj v nových  možnostiach liečby. Predkladaná učebnica obsahuje základné informácie o najdôležitejších neurologických ochoreniach, ich diagnostike, diferenciálnej diagnostike a liečbe v rozsahu pre študentov medicíny ako aj neurológov v špecializačnej príprave. Časť určená pre neurológov je odlíšená farebnou podtlačou. Oproti prvému vydaniu z roku 2017 sme niektoré kapitoly doplnili a prepracovali v súlade s najnovšími poznatkami, predovšetkým časť o cerebrovaskulárnych ochoreniach, autoimunitne podmienených ochoreniach, ale aj čo sa týka epilepsie, neuroinfekcií, migrény, extrapyramídových ochorení a demyelinizačných ochorení. Veríme, že táto vysokoškolská učebnica, ktorá zapĺňa vákuum v študijnej literatúre v slovenskom písomníctve z posledného obdobia, bude prínosom pre študentov, ale aj mladých lekárov a priblíži im zložitú, ale nesmierne zaujímavú a príťažlivú problematiku neurologických ochorení.

The textbook "The Pharmaceutical Compounding Propedeutics for Medical Fields" provides a systematic and comprehensive overview in the field of drug prescription, which is a very important part of pharmacology education for medical and pharmaceutical faculties. In addition to prescribing prescription drugs it also addresses the prescription of dietary foods and medical devices. A significant part of the text is dedicated to the prescription of compounded (extemporaneous) preparations which we consider irreplaceable in many fields of medicine including e. g. paediatrics or dermatology enabling personalized pharmacotherapy.

Importantly, the authors have taken into account recent changes in legislation of the Slovak Republic, including the gradual acceptance of the European Pharmacopoeia since 1995 and the introduction of generic prescription in 2011.

The book consists of the general and special section including 19 pictures, 13 tables and 11 supplements. The great contribution of the publication are abundant examples, quiz questions and tasks which help reader to better understand the particular theoretical basis. The textbook is primary intended for the student of medical and pharmaceutical faculties but it also serves as a great source of information in postgradual education of physicians and pharmacists.

With the development of endovascular surgery, there is a gradual advancement in ACI stenting. The minimally invasive approach has made this methodology suitable for patients with serious concomitant cardiac or pulmonary diseases. Another advantage compared to surgical treatment was better access to the ICA in patients after radiotherapy, after previous neck surgeries, as well as in patients with stenoses close to the skull base.

The comparison of CEA vs CAS is an interesting and debatable topic in many studies. However, despite the massive global development of endovascular treatment, carotid endarterectomy remains the gold standard for treating ICA stenosis in both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. In this monograph, we would like to accentuate and systematize the issue of surgical stroke prevention from the perspective of a vascular surgeon.

Publikace je určena především studentům prvního ročníku oboru Zdravotnický záchranář. Její hlavním účelem bylo sjednotit témata a postupy specifické pro tento obor. Po novelizaci zákona č. 96/2004 může zdravotnický záchranář vykonávat činnosti bez odborného dohledu až po jednom roce výkonu povolání při poskytování akutní lůžkové péče. Ošetřovatelské postupy jsou specifikovány a přiblíženy pracovním podmínkám oddělení jednotek intenzivní péče.

Autorky kladou důraz na bezpečnou, efektivní a kvalitně poskytovanou ošetřovatelskou péči se zaměřením na zachování postupů lege artis, komunikaci a především lidskost. Při výběru témat vycházely z aktuálně platných kompetencí zdravotnických záchranářů. Obsahem jsou též fotografické postupy, které studenti v praxi dobře vnímají.
