Sociálna ekonomika a sociálne podnikanie

The university textbook "Social Economics and Social Entrepreneurship" presents the issue of the social economy from a complex point of view and it is the first university textbook focused on the topic of social economy in Slovakia. Its aim is to contribute to the understanding of the concept of social economy, its development, basic conceptual apparatus, legislative anchoring and practical realities of social economics and social enterprises in Slovakia. The textbook discusses the basic legislative principles that need to be known when establishing a social enterprise.

It is divided into nine chapters. The first chapter deals with the development of the social economy in other countries and in Slovakia. The second chapter deals with the social economy in the context of market failure. The third chapter focuses on the ethical principles of the social economics and business. The fourth chapter presents the legal forms of social enterprises in Slovakia and abroad. The fifth chapter deals with the legislative definition of the social economy and social entrepreneurship in Slovakia and in selected countries. The sixth chapter is focused on financing and forms of the support for social enterprises according to the valid legislation. The seventh chapter deals with the position of self-government in the context of social entrepreneurship and describes the functioning of municipal social enterprises. The eighth chapter presents in detail the Social Enterprise Establishment Model. The ninth chapter discusses the opportunities and limits of social economy development in Slovakia and presents the institutional support for the functioning of social economy entities.

The university textbook "Social Economics and Social Entrepreneurship" is intended mainly for students studying the issues of the social economy and social enterprises at universities. It can be also useful for employees of state administration and self-government, but also for private sector entities, e.g. future social entrepreneurs who can use the knowledge from it in setting up social enterprises.
