Slovenský jazyk v dialógoch pre zahraničných lekárov

The textbook Slovak Language in Dialogues for Foreign Physicians is intended for those who already have a good command of the grammatical and lexical basics of the Slovak language at the A1 and A2 level. It should therefore serve as a tool for developing, deepening, and improving language skills applicable to a specific situation – in medical communication. Specifically, it concerns Ukrainian-speaking students, but the teaching material is designed in a way that offers study opportunities for students from other countries, especially Slavic countries. Grammatical, lexical or syntactic phenomena are presented in such a way that they can be understood even by the non-philologist to whom the textbook is primarily addressed.

Based on the basic goal – to master doctor-patient communication – the textbook is based on the principles of communication-oriented language teaching. A number of model dialogues anticipate the relationship between the participants in the communication in connection with their specific focus and at the same time in association with the expected tasks to be fulfilled in a specific context.

The textbook will help students to deepen their language skills and create a good level of orientation in the Slovak language and at the same time this textbook will provide students with a solid basis for its further use.
