Anotácia v anglickom jazyku.

The university textbook Diseases of the Tongue focuses on anomalies and diseases affecting the tongue. In the individual chapters, it describes the congenital conditions that we encounter in the tongue, their diagnosis as well as treatment options, as well as individual independent disease units. First chapter discuss about local diseases of the tongue, where the disease has no manifestations on other oral mucosa. Another group are diseases where the symptomatology of the disease is present on the tongue, but also on other oral mucous membranes. In addition to these conditions arising directly in the oral cavity, the following chapters discuss the conditions where general diseases such as infectious, endocrinological, blood and dermatological diseases cause changes in the tongue. Separate chapters are devoted to precancerous conditions and benign and tumoriform lesions. The last chapter consists of tongue diseases in the pediatric population.
