The aim of Practical Immunology is to provide comprehensive overview of the basic immunological methods used in clinical laboratories for students of medicine and related sciences. Laboratory tests for examination of phagocytosis, complement system, immunoglobulines, autoantibodies, HLA molecules, T cells and cytokines are described in this text. The main protocols are supported by methods for isolation and counting of selected cell types. The combination of classical approaches (rosette tests, fluorescent microscopy) and recent methods (flow cytometry, ELISPOT) provide essential orientation in laboratory immunology.
