Abstrakt: The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a central African country which is rich in natural resources with long-term economic ties with China. The China´s presence in Africa is well-known, however, it is an open question whether it is based on a mutually beneficial partnership or neocolonial strategies to gain profit. The main aim of the article is to identify the strategies of Chinese actors in relations with Congolese partners. The methodology is based on the study and analysis of official documents, literature and databases of international trade and the Congolese-Chinese agreement signed in 2008 in particular. The conclusion is it might be mutually beneficial for both sides. Besides that, China and DRC developed a cooperation in the field of security issues which is illustrated by China’s participation in the UN peacekeeping missions
