The aim of the contribution was to analyze level of emotional intelligence and its factors towards public administration employees and analyze potential gender differences within emotional intelligence. 102 respondents (67 women and 35 men) with the average age of 34.94 years (SD = 12.27) answered the questions measuring emotional intelligence by Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire - TEIQue-SF (Petrides, 2006; slovak version Kaliská, Nábělková, & Salbot, 2015). The results showed that the extent of emotional intelligence was lower in general (M = 2.79; SD = .71) and in particular factors, as well. There were no significant gender differences in level of emotional intelligence (U(89) = 1018.00; α = .276).
